Summary:

The shame burned. Dream felt as though everyone knew. Knew that he was a failure, that he needed something additional to work (and he was already worse at his work than he'd like). Knew that he wasn't the beacon of happiness and hope that they believed in, that they needed, that they loved. That he was something flawed, which felt sorrow and exhaustion and shame. — Dream acquires a new coping mechanism. It's not a very good one.

Hello guys

I have an Errorink fanfic in the works, it's currently at ~40k words (15 chapters), but this is just the first arc, I haven't even gotten to the stuff I originally wanted to explore hah. This fic could very well end up ~100k

Now, I have a question for you all. Usually I prefer writing my fics out in their entirety and then posting them by a schedule — it allows me to refine the fic so it's consistent and stuff, and it ensures the fic will be finished. But!

What would YOU prefer?

Option 1: I edit the first arc now and post it. This means you get Errorink now, then you'll wait however long it takes for me to write out arc 2. It runs the risk of ending up never finished, and having inconsistencies between arc 1 and arc 2

Option 2: I post the fic like normal. It might take me months upon months to finish it, but it WILL be finished with a guarantee, and you will be able to read it at a consistent pace, and all of it will be cohesive

For context, the fic deals with a dynamic of Errorink that is very violent and weird, there's a lot of obsessiveness and violently painful pining, both of them are quite mentally unstable and difficult and aroace, and that's what makes it fun to figure out their relationship hehe

This variant of Error was created as a part of a very poorly made Dating Sim game where he was horribly mischaracterized. But, perhaps to his fortune, when a certain cat (Friend!Ink, now named Device_Ink) barged into the game seeking the attention and adoration of the player... it caused enough of a disruption to give Error a window in which he could finally glitch out of the game

...Though his programming still bothers him occasionally, his body being wired for, well, dating, while he has absolutely NO interest in such things and would REALLY rather not be touched. He can't even properly take off these stupid anime cat girl clothes! They just glitch back onto him! But he finds himself adorable and powerful so who cares? (Ignore the gender crisis he may or may not be having)

And yes, you guessed it, his scarf acts like a tail, just like that void... cat... inky... thing. Speaking of Device_Ink, this Error can't deny they're connected as it's that creature which helped him break out. He still finds it creepy as hell though

Oh my gosh, waking up that CERTIFIED TENNA W feels fucking fantastic

LET'S GOOOOO TENNA NATIOOONNNNNN WE ARE THE UNGLOOBIEST EVER

From the moment I saw Tenna is participating in the Sexyman contest, I SAID he's a strong fricking contender ahaha! I've been following the finalists' poll with RAPT attention, I tell you!! It was crazy, it was neck and neck. Project Hail Mary fans, thank you for being with us, I saw people slandering your man and I'm sorry about that. Senshi voters, I saw a LOT of you being assholes, but I know how fandom is, so I will choose to believe that was just a loud minority, and you guys fought with dedication.

TENNA FANS I'M SO FUCKING PROUD OF US, WE WENT FREAKING CRAAZYYYY, watching that lead slowly but consistently tick up was so exciting, and we finished with, what, a 6000 vote lead? 6500? That's insane haha! And I'm proud to say there was little to none toxicity on our side (at least in the notes and reblogs of the poll), just pure TV feralness, we take this win with HONOR!!

Caine fans, Doofenshmirtz fans, and all others who supported us (I saw Argentinians and Mexicans, I saw KPOP fans...), THANK YOU for your support soldiers!!!

“And if you’ll give me 40% of the MOST POPULAR VOTE, I’ll give you my SPECIAL REWARD... A year’s supply of NON-GLOOBY SLIME!!! Never or BARELY used!!!” Tenna concluded his speech with a huge smile, jetting his hands up in double peace signs.

The crowd roared in confused enthusiasm as Tenna gave a gracious flurry of low-FPS bows, pausing only for the occasional stink-nose at his audience plants who weren’t throwing enough 3D roses.

Eventually, the room fell silent. It was Senshi’s turn to speak.

He puffed out his chest, took a long, sweeping look over the audience… and shook his head.

“I can see not all of you are eating properly.”

The crowd murmured with embarrassment.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s time to take the turkey out of your icebox. I have seen the ingenious technology with which your people store food... and I have also seen the waste which results from such convenience.

“The food you take had a life. Beasts grew fat on the grass of the field, plants grew from the sun’s rays, and mushrooms grew from minerals in the cracks of caves. And yet, it sits in your iceboxes, collecting moisture until it perishes.

“Eat what is given to you. Because its life will make you stronger, too.”

Without another word, Senshi left his podium and stepped away from the stage. The crowd murmured in confusion. “Is he really like that?” somebody said. “I only remember reblogging the photosets of him tripping and showing ass.”

Back in the Green Room, Tenna wrung his antennas nervously.

“Y-y-you think they liked me!? They HAD to!! I mean, I don’t know what Asgore was thinking, getting that weird haircut and running that food waste campaign, but… YOU thought I did good, didn’t you, Kris?”

Laios nodded aggressively, a streak of blue face paint peeling from his forehead.

“You did AMAZING, Tenna! By the way, now that we’ve seen all your insider campaign secrets, do you have any more videos of Susie? Especially her tail... If I could get a look at that, I could finally tell if she’s a dinosaur or --”

THWACK. Fake antlers butted Laios’s head.

“LAIOS?? Weren’t we dressed up to help SENSHI???” Marcille hissed, gesturing awkwardly with her hooves.

Suddenly, Tenna turned to the two adventurers.

“Hey, WAIT a second. SOMETHING’s not right here...”

Laios and Marcille held their breath.

“Where the heck are my POINTS!?”

Just then, the door opened. Chilchuck took one step into the room, whistling and holding a large bag.

Everyone turned to him.

Chilchuck paused, took a step backwards, and closed the door.

“CHILCHUCK!!!” yelled Tenna.

“How come Chilchuck got to stay Chilchuck!?” yelled Marcille at the same time.

The change wasn't immediate... it happened gradually.

"Always at your humble service :}"

Okay so This Thing aka Friend!Ink got lore a while back, I just never got around to posting this drawing haha. It just sort of happened xD

The creativity within the Multiverse had begun growing dry, less and less interest from Creators. Not even necessarily out of insecurity or lack of passion... just... growing boredom. And Ink grew desperate to try and connect to them.

He wanted to interact with them, escape the confines of this reality, he wants them to play with him.

So like a virus he began trying to find cracks in his reality and trying to break through them, trying to find a way to bring more interest, more fascination, break things up... and the Void began gradually leaving an imprint on his magic, influencing it, until Ink's own magic, now intermixed with the Void's darkness, began to consume him.

But it doesn't really care? It grows less lucid, more detached and fervent. And, well... maybe this is the solution to its problems. To make things a little more... interesting, with a slightly more hands-on approach.

The Tail of Hell is its scarf tail! During the change, its eye lights (pink and yellow, of course) grew larger until they overtake the eye sockets. Sometimes they flash and switch their color, but it's always pink or yellow. The void ink is very malleable and boneless, despite imitating Ink's shape.

Squish him and the corrupted side is like Gaster Goop haha, if your hand doesn't straight up pass through it. This thing shows up in the middle of other worlds' story to try and usurp the attention and get the Player/Creator's focus on it instead xD Or it tries to change things up within the story, nudge things here and here to stir up plot
