There’s this friend of my mom’s. you’d think you are looking at a man, but they’re officially a woman. I guess you could say he’s FTM. He actually told me in person. He cared for me when I was little and even helped me study. I really love him a lot. I think of him as my family. He said it didn’t  feel  like his gender was right when he was young. In the middle school, he said wearing’ the girls’ uniform was brutal for him, but realized no one else felt like that. Still, he was afraid of talking about it with his parents. His own existence made him feel uneasy… and alone. He said he was so scared of the future, he couldn’t bear it. But after graduating high school and moving out on his own, he started living his life as a man. And once he did, the unease he always felt vanished… and the pain in his heart became a lot more tolerable.

a little while back i rewatched all of vinland saga on netflix and was instantly reminded why this anime is one of the best

the "villains" really terrify me. they're charismatic enough to be endearing and to see them as human, but also so batshit insane that they're so damn intimidating. so well written

and it was the first time i was binging the whole series cuz i watched it weekly as it was airing, and it really hit me all at once how awful it is that thorfinn was groomed into the battlefield, and going into season 2 i really fear for how his character will develop as he's consumed by violence...

and holy shit i love to fucking hate askeladd. he does all this evil shit and a lot of it is motivated by survival or a bigger cause. literally one of the best antagonists in anime

but this show is literally one of the best ever made. my excitement for season 2 as an anime only watcher is understated
