âRegina gives me strength. When I feel like Iâm failing I think of her, she inspired me.â -Lana Parrilla
codaparker:
âWith all due respect, Dahlia, I stopped being my brotherâs keeper after he stabbed me in the spleen. I think itâs time you teach your nieces and nephews that when life knocks you down and your heart gets broken that you get the hell back up.â
But you seem to be the only family member he hasnât killed yet, it says a lot. That is what I like about you, Dakota. Our family situations are a little high on the loony spectrum, yours clearly more than mine, but nonetheless. I hopefully can teach them more than just that, dear.
codaparker:
Dakota let out a small breath, âIf youâre talking about Kol â heâs a grown ass man. He became a grown ass man when he hit the age of eighteen which is a legal adult in the fifty states if you werenât aware. Quite frankly, Iâm really tired of everyone putting this on Kai as if Kol doesnât willingly lay in bed with him every night. Iâm also really tired of your other nephew, Henrik, trying to stick his nose in my familyâs business as if he can even fathom the shit weâve been through. As far as I can tell, Kai hasnât done shit to you or Kol or anyone else in your family. Youâre making this all a big deal because Kol  found comfort in Kai which I think says more about you the Mikaelsons than it does about Kai.â
Dahlia absentmindedly folded her hands behind her back as she listened to Dakota speak. The Parker family may not have been her business, but her nephewâs affairs and who he spends time with was. Once the young man finished talking, she nodded her head once. âYes, youâre mistaking me for Henrik. Iâm not concerned your brother is a psychopath whoâs done horrible things to his family. I am, however, concerned that he will end up hurting Kol. Not physically, lord knows Kol is strong enough not to let that happen. Iâm talking emotionally. With Kaiâs nature, Iâm sure he isnât used to caring for someone like he supposedly cares for my darling nephew. Rejection might occur and I donât want to see Kol obliterated by that mess.â Dahlia paused as she tilted her head. âAs for Henrik, I will keep him out of your hair if you make certain your twin doesnât hurt anyone else. Iâm trying to make peace here, Mr Parker, thatâs all I ask.â
codaparker:
âAs far as I can tell heâs just fine. Just hoping heâs working on that best man speech. For the record, Kai stopped being your business after Esther died. Actually, he was never your business. Why donât you worry about Henrik and Iâll worry about Kai.â
Right, what a lucky man you are. Enjoy the wedding bliss while you can, dear, it wonât last long. I never bothered with Kai until he became my business when he recklessly involved himself with my nephew.
mischievousnessmanaged:
henrik whines pitifully, head falling forward onto the counter with a dull thud. âfine, but i wonât like it at all.â he mumbles through the counter, not lifting his head back up.
Dahlia placed her hands flat of the surface on the counter and gave him a hard stare. âWell, I never asked you to like it. Iâm only saying I want you on your best behavior and I mean it, Henrik.â Her expression softened as her fingers flipped through the recipe book again. âNow, are you going to sulk or help me pick out the best pumpkin pie recipe?â
codaparker:
âYou know why so donât try asking.â
You Parkerâs are destined for terrible misfortune. Tell me, how is that brother of yours?
mischievousnessmanaged:
âdo we have to?â henrik asks with a pout, looking up at her with his big blue eyes.
âYes, we do.â She gave the boy a stern look. âI canât fulfill the reason I came back if Iâm at odds with everyone. So, Iâm playing nice and I expect you to do the same for the holiday. If not for them, then for me.â
westxsidemaria:
âI think you said all you needed to say the last time we spoke, Dahlia.â
Dahlia tossed the dishcloth she had previously been using on the counter with a nod and walked from behind the counter. âAbout that, I wanted to apologize for my behavior. Iâve always been fiercely protective of my family and it got the better of me.â

westxsidemaria:
âNope. Just going to find Elijah.â
Please, darling, stay. I need to speak with you.
dirtyydianaa:
âNot much of a people person, huh?â
Only to those I do not trust, which is nearly everyone but my family. Most of the time.Â
dirtyydianaa:
âWould hate to interrupt that.â
I would hate for you to interrupt it. What can I do for you?
mischievousnessmanaged:
henrikâs nose scrunches up adorably. âwhy are you planning that?â
Dahlia looked up from the recipe book she had open. âBecause weâre all still a family, Henrik, and I need to prove I can be trusted.â
codaparker:
âOh, the holidays. How I hate them so.â
And why is that, my dear? Buried deep in family issues?
eldestxmikaelson:
âDogs are rather⊠cute. I wouldnât mind owning one.â
And have a little dog yipping around the house and tracking mud everywhere? Sounds....splendid. How about a cat instead?
And was there something you needed, dear? I have a family Thanksgiving meal to plan.
wileykol:
Kol stayed quiet and didnât bother to move from his spot. He shook his head after a moment as he finally moved, wincing in the process. âSays the beloved aunt who faked her own death. I donât care for your reasons. I donât care how justified that makes you. Henrik wasnât the only one who could have needed you. Mikael never cared. Mother was too busy coddling Henrik. This family has always been every man for themselves.â Licking his lips, Kol took a step towards Dahlia, âHenrik and Freya are young. They need someone like you around. The rest of us? Weâre big boys and girls. We donât need a two faced dark witch playing mommy.â The vampire said nothing else as he moved past Dahlia.
As Kol walked past her, Dahlia managed to gently grab his arm to stop him from walking away. âKol...â Despite her ruthlessly cold exterior, there lay something much bigger than that. She gave him a genuine pleading look which were fairly rare for a woman of her nature. âMy powers were out of control and I knew you children did not have to be exposed to that horror. You already had your mother, Kol, you didnât need me for protection. When she died, thatâs when I knew I had to come back. I donât expect you to understand my reasons for faking my death and showing up here, but I truly did it for family. I am sorry.â Dahlia released her grip from his arm. âPlease believe me.â
