What did you think of those two guys who made accusations about Jeffrey Dahmer while they were in the army? I read a new article and not only did they talk about how they were raped and beaten up, but also saying he was a racist and a narcissist.

OH MY GOD, THOSE GUYS INFURIATE ME. 

ok let’s break the accusations down, and i want it to be clear that i am in no way defending dahmer, i just think it is very important while studying these guys, to differentiate what could be the truth and what probably isnt. ok here goes: 

billy capshaw was a chubby white male, NOT AT ALL dahmer’s type. the other man, Preston Davis, was closer to being his type though. 

during Preston Davis’ interview with Nancy Glass, he gave plenty of detail of how his life unraveled after dahmer supposedly raped him, but failed to give detail on what actually happened that fateful day, which seemingly uprooted his entire life. ALSO if you watch his interview close enough, he sits very still while he discusses the other details, but shifts in his seat and rubs his arm while talking specifically about jeff raping him. this body language could be saying one of two things. that he is obv still traumatized by what happened to him OR that he is lying. 

billy capshaw’s details were far different than dahmer’s MO, even after jeff’s escalation. he said in his interview that jeff had tied him to the bed and was standing over him, beating him with an iron bar. never, did dahmer ever intentionally inflict physical pain onto his victims. he was a product killer, not process killer. he did not enjoy torture or the actual act of killing. 

ok so when did dahmer rape these two men? from what i understand of the military, you don’t get much time alone with someone, everyone does everything together. not much time to tie up a dude to a bed, beat him, drug him, and rape him. also gays were not allowed in the military during this time. according to capshaw, he told his superior officers, and they did nothing. if it really happened, this would have gotten jeff immediately discharged, instead of him being discharged later for being an alcoholic. 

Billy capshaw has piggybacked on the adam walsh murder as well, being one of the main voices out there saying that jeff was the murderer, which he was not. HE IS PURELY EXPLOITIVE

imo, jeff was too busy drinking and trying to drown his demons and the memory of his first murder to bother with these dudes. i mean, nothing is impossible, BUT their stories just don’t fit. i think this is SO SHAMEFUL OF THEM IN SO MANY WAYS. first lying ab being raped is disgusting, and also exploiting the murders of others for your own fame. looks like billy capshaw is the real narcissist (btw jeff was never diagnosed with NPD and was def not racist.) shame on nancy glass for believing them, giving them a spotlight on her special, and exploiting the dahmer case in that way.

I saw My Friend Dahmer on Friday and I was incredibly happy. I loved the film and I think Ross did great - all of the cast did actually, and even better was the discussion I ended up in with a handful of other movie-goers! A few people around me had overheard me telling my friend that yes, these thing indeed happened, etc and we basically had a lil Dahmer discussion group going in the empty theater for like 20 minutes.

Also, my mom knows a nail tech who worked at the prison Jeff was in, even watched him numerous times. She's "gravely concerned" about my mental health after I jokingly told my mom I wanted a Jeff shirt with 'worst potluck guest '91' on it, but she promised to tell my mom about him and what he was like in prison. When she does, I'll post about it!

So, I’ve been reading a book about forensic profiling called Dark Dreams: A Legendary FBI Profiler Examines Homicide and the Criminal Mind by Roy Hazelwood, and there are multiple times he references works by John E. Douglas, one of the first criminal profilers to work within the FBI, and also the author of my next book (the one I carry with it and will read immediately after) called Anatomy of Motive. While that might not SEEM interesting, there are so few books written by experts in the field of psychology on a forensic level (although, I DO know that profiling is NOT the same as forensic psych, the overlap used to be far more inclusive in the FBI), it’s exciting to me that there’s a certain intimacy in the field. Because there are so few experts, they consult one another and work together at times, and even collectively, for the sake of research on future cases, to understand how and why something occurred. Another, possibly more exciting detail, is how many times Park E. Dietz (most known here for insightful psych evals on Dahmer, the Unibomber, and an assessment post-Columbine) is mentioned, AND has worked with the author of Dark Dreams: A Legendary FBI Profiler Examines Homicide and the Criminal Mind. There are, apparently, books by Dietz on everything from the basics, to very specific things - one being autoerotic asphyxiation and “dangerous” fetishes/paraphilias. I’ve never seen anyone here reference a literary work by Dietz, nor did I know any existed (although it should have been obvious to me), HOWEVER, even upon learning that these books DO exist, I cannot find them anywhere for purchase/review online? I do think it’s possible that they aren’t available to the general public, and may only be accessed by professionals for reference, as some information is treated as exclusive in the forensic field - such as the magazine I have on Dahmer about Aspergers being an unlikely diagnosis, both pre and post mortem - from The Forensic Examiner, a subscription limited to people with licenses to work in that field, this particular issue I acquired via ebay. Then, though, I wonder why other prominent figures that work within the same field (Robert Ressler is a good example, as he has many well-known books, along with the two aforementioned authors) would make their works public? It makes me muse, along with all of the actual taped interviews Dietz had with Dahmer, especially, that we’ve never seen and how many times or what research was accumulated from his case that we don’t know about? What did forensic psychiatry and criminal profilers learn from Jeffrey Dahmer?

How To (properly) Visit The Columbine Memorial

SO, you’re thinking about making a trip to the Columbine memorial? That’s great! Here are just a few tips (from a local and from someone who isn’t deficient in empathy) on how to make the most out of your visit. 👍

Dress Appropriately. I chose to wear my favorite black dress and feather belt. please leave your natural selection, wrath, AOL Here KewLz HaXORz ArE shirts, trench coats, or other Columbine Killer Costumes at home. Those clothes just scream, “I’ve never been laid and won’t ever move outta my mom’s basement” Save em for Halloween plz. 

AH! we’ve made it to Clement Park! There’s parking right off of Bowles Ave. Just pull in by the Library. It’s super easy to spot. 

You can bring flowers if you’d like! I opted for yellow roses. I would suggest leaving any candles you want to light for eric and dylan at home. You can worship those pasty losers anywhere else in the ENTIRE WORLD besides the COUPLE OF SQUARE FEET THAT IS THE MEMORIAL. (show some self control)

take a second to glance at the posted rules. If you don’t speak english (only reason i can come up with for not understanding them) there is a great new website called google.com. You can go there and translate any word you don’t know. Like: no smoking, no fumar, 喫煙禁止, ne pas fumer, Vietato fumare,

WE’RE HERE!! No finger guns, water guns, or mock weapons within the memorial grounds. i’m not trying to TELL you what to do per se, just want to make sure you have the best experience, and mock shooting something makes you look infantile. Now you can take in the tranquility of the memorial. 

In case nature calls during your visit, don’t fret! There are plenty of places to relieve yourself besides Rachel’s placard. There are many facilities within clement park. Just turn around, stroll out of the memorial grounds, and head for these plastic blue houses, you can’t miss it. 😃

if ya see someone desecrating the memorial, just flag down one of these guys, police are constantly patroling Clement Park. If none are around, call this number: 303-794-1551. That’s the Littleton Police Department. I would suggest not to ask if they’ll release the Basement Tapes. I have a hunch they’re gonna say no. (sorry guys)

GREAT JOB! YOU DID IT! You get a gold star. We managed to visit the memorial and keep our dignity in tact! Feel free to stroll by the school, all I ask is to leave those attending alone and to stay respectful to the area. Colorado thanks you.  Saying shit like, no one remembers or cares anymore is SUCH A COP OUT. Anyone with a heart cares. Colorado cares. So many people were somber, visiting the memorial alongside me. I care and I will never EVER forget the THIRTEEN VICTIMS of the Columbine Massacre.

What happened next is acutely distressing. Indeed, as this story unfolds it becomes ever more hard to bear and upsetting to think upon. Dahmer decapitated Anthony Sears and attempted to flay him. Then he stripped the flesh in the usual way, and cut off the genitals, which he placed in a separate bag with the head. He did this because ‘him I like especially well’, as an expression of affection, as a salute to the good time they had had together. After a week the head was dry but still very life-like; on four occasions Jeff held it in one hand while he masturbated with the other, and could even mimic the action of having oral sex with it. In time, he would scalp it and use the pony-tailed scalp both for stimulation and as a remembrance.

That Anthony Sears should have his life stolen at so young an age and to no purpose is in itself vicious and pitiful; that his remains should be thus used further offends one’s sense of respect; but that Dahmer’s mind should be so deranged as to find solace and comfort in such acts stuns comprehension

Humanize killers is absolutely right because they were humans and not monsters, but we can’t forget what they did. We can’t talk about them as “friends”, ignoring all their victims. For example, Jeffrey Dahmer was really alone and he was scared of abandonment, but we can’t forget he killed a 14-year-old boy for his sexual pleasure. Eric Harris and Dylan Kebold were bullied and they needed help, but they killed 13 innocent people. We can’t forget their victims.

At the end of his senior year, Jeffrey Dahmer attended prom with younger student Bridget Geiger, a friend of a friend.  It’s unclear why Dahmer, class misfit and homosexual, chose to participate in such an event.  Most likely, it constituted one of his last feeble stabs at normality, a desperate attempt to “fit in” with society before he was cast out of it completely.  Dahmer would claim to investigators that he was only doing a favor for an unattractive and unpopular girl; however, friends reported that he was the one who approached them with the idea.  In truth, Geiger was not at all enthused about the prospect and only agreed to go on the condition that Dahmer not drink.

The teenage girl was immediately dismayed when Dahmer arrived at her house on prom night, as he’d chosen to dress himself in an odd ensemble of a vest and bowtie instead of the standard tuxedo.  She noted that he was also visibly nervous.  Hands shaking, he fumbled with her corsage, preoccupied with the fear of sticking her with the pin.  Eventually, Bridget’s mother came to the rescue to fix the flower onto her daughter’s dress.  Dahmer’s nervousness only deepened throughout the night.  He was closed-off, rigid and anxious amongst the swarming crowd of teenagers.  Bridget recalled to newspapers that the one thing he said about himself was that he might go to college because his father wanted him to become a doctor.  She described him as “the perfect gentleman,” pulling out her chair for her when they first arrived.  However, when she sat down, he mysteriously vanished.

Hours later, Dahmer reappeared just as the poor girl was convincing her friends to take her home.  His excuse for his absence was that he’d gotten hungry, so he’d gone to a McDonald’s to eat a few burgers and had gotten lost on the way back to prom.  He appeared overwhelmingly embarrassed and uncomfortable, reeling from what he must have perceived as yet another addition to the long list of failures that further demonstrated his inadequacy as a “normal” individual. All he managed to say in the midst of his discomfort was, “I’m really sorry.  I meant for you to have a nice evening.  I didn’t mean for this to happen.”

The next morning, June 19, 1978, Jeff went out and bought a large hunting knife. In the crawl space underneath the house, he dismembered Steven’s body and placed the limbs in three triple-lined trash bags. He also slit open the torso, wanting to see what it looked like on the inside. One source claimed he also masturbated during the dismemberment process. Steven’s clothes and identity card were burned in a trash barrel, but Jeff initially kept the retainer necklace he had been wearing. He spent the rest of the day devising a plan to get rid of the remains, eventually deciding he would leave them at a ravine a few miles away. Depending on the source, he either drank a few beers to “work up the courage” or had none, as he didn’t need to dull his satiated lusts. This varies depending on the author’s opinion of why he was an alcoholic. Jeff’s father was no doubt wondering why his son had not yet returned the car. His calls to the house would go unanswered for the next week. It was late at night when Jeff put the bags in the backseat of the car. At 3 am a police car signaled him to stop; he had been driving left of center. He was given the sobriety test and passed. The officers asked him what he was doing out so late, and he told them he was on his way to the city dump to get rid of some garbage. His parents had just divorced and he couldn’t sleep, so he figured he might as well get it over with. (Alternatively, his folks were away and the garbage had been piling up. The dump is open twenty four hours…) Though they noticed a foul odor coming from the bags, the cops assumed it was the smell of garbage. They ultimately let him go, giving him a ticket. He turned around and headed back home. Coincidentally, one of the officers would later be called to Milwaukee thirteen years later to investigate Steven’s murder after Jeff’s confession. Returning the bags to the crawlspace, Jeff opened one and removed the severed head of Steven Hicks. In his bedroom, he placed the head on the floor and masturbated while looking at it. I guess he needed to get rid of the tension after almost getting caught.
