Silent Sundays Happy Birthdays to two Sirens of Silent Horror; Lyda Salmonova (1889) of "Der Golem" & "The Student Of Prague" and Mary Philbin (1902) of "The Phantom Of The Opera" & "The Man Who Laughs". Lyda would marry co-star & director Paul Wegner, in fact she married him twice, outliving him & dying in 1967. Meanwhile Mary's career petered out with talkies and she retired, never married and became a recluse dying in 1993.

Blane appeared in over 100 films but mostly low budget or in supporting roles (including in a Valentino film), she also had an affair with singer Russ Columbo. Real name Elizabeth Young and her sisters were actresses Loretta Young, Polly Ann and Georgina Young. Maye she should have kept the name. Note Louise is wearing heels, I don't get the feeling she spent a lot of time at the beach
