from a pre-season 4 perspective, there's potential for celebrity romance with Alya being a reporter and Marinette being ladybug. if Alya is crushing on ladybug but not Marinette (yet), or both. you don't really get that with marigami because Kagami and ladybug don't have much of a relationship. but ladybug and Alya have a preexisting dynamic of superhero/reporter. superman and lois lane. etc.
even if you go after season four there's still a lot to explore. there is nothing more simultaneously wonderful and devastating than realizing you're in love with your best friend. deciphering if your feelings are romantic or just platonic because you're already so close. thinking you know everything about each other but being surprised by each other anyway. worrying you're gonna mess everything up but taking that chance . best friends to lovers is the ELITE version of friends to lovers. it's only uninteresting if you make it uninteresting.
the best thing about alyanette is that they are each others heroes. they love, respect, and admire each other so much in each of their different forms. it's a beautiful, complex dynamic and it deserves more love that it gets so VOTE ALYANETTE.
