mostly based on their parallels and how much shizuku wants to help mafuyu, while mafuyu knows that she can rely on her when she needs it.in nightcords stories we learn that mafuyu is struggling big time and is hiding it from everyone except nightcord. in more more jump stories we learn that shizuku is pretending to be to be a more beautiful, elegant and mysterious version of herself, instead of her cheerful airhead caring self.

parallels:

in 'my colour!' (shizu1) shizuku is struggling to keep this 'perfect image' of her up due to mmj starting livestreams instead of prerecorded interviews. with a lot of thinking shizuku decides to reveal her 'imperfect self'. at first shizukus fans think it's strange and odd. as she's offering miso soup in her thermos to her group members the comments start saying stuff like "miso soup? this must be scripted lmao" "thats not the shizuku i want to see" "shes different from what i imagined", the episode ends with shizuku saying "but in the end, i can't be perfect..." while crying. in the next episode she opens up to more more jump about how much this image of her affected her, how often she wasn't able to be herself. later she gets advice from luka and she tells her a silly "secret", and shizuku says "I've lost track of how often I've been told "it's such a waste for someone so beautiful..."". later on airi tells shizuku how she feels about shizukus usual self. and mmj retries shizukus reveal by showing her how she practices her dancing. all goes well it ends good yay.

after 'farewell to my masked self' (mafu4) honami becomes aware that mafuyu has been hiding her true feelings behind a "mask" and is told by kanade not to tell others.

in 'and so the clock hand started ticking' (mafu6) her mother is made fully aware of mafuyus mental health and no longer needs to mask around her parents (this story is so beautiful i don't want to spoil it for you so you can read it yourself).

interactions:in 'the moon rabbit & us' (shizu mixed 1) shizuku and mafuyu just finished up their time at the archery club, shizuku says how beautiful mafuyus technique was and how easy it was to learn. a club member says how impressive shizuku was, and asks her how she doesn't seem tired. mafuyu asks her if she's sure she's not tired and shizuku says she is a bit but being an idol makes it that she can't be with the club all the time so she feels she needs to work harder. mafuyu and the other student complaints her for it and everyone starts heading home. while everyone is leaving shizuku to try to think about stream ideas because she feels that everyone is suggesting such good ideas while she isn't contributing as well. mafuyu notices her slightly troubled face and asks if somethings bothering her, shizuku tells her it's nothing (im just gonna write there conversation) m: "oh? if you say so..." "but don't hesitate to ask me for help."s: "asahina... thank you, i think ill take you up on that offer" "im trying to come up with some ideas regarding what my idol group should do next"m: "your idol group?" "..." shizuku is a bit confused but mafuyu reassures her that she doesn't know much about idol groups and was caught off guard and isn't sure how much she'll be able to help. shizuku clarifies some more and mafuyu and shizuku think together and mafuyu says how thoughtful shizuku is and mafuyu says: Mafuyu: I'd like to help somehow... Hmm... Ideas for your stream...

Mafuyu: Oh, what if you did something with some seasonal flair to it?

Shizuku: Seasonal flair?

Mafuyu: Yes. Fall is just about upon us, so it might be nice to introduce some seasonal desserts or even just books that you might recommend...

at this festival bathed in twilight (mafu mixed 2) im currently rereading all of n25s stories and im at 'what lies beyond guiding a lost child' so i don't have much to say here but they were both had four star cards in this event. in ep 1 mafuyu bumps into shizuku while she's looking to buy something, shizuku suggests to mafuyu that they could walk home mafuyu says she would like to especially since how they hardly ever do, due mafuyu having cram school and her and shizuku being in different classes. Shizuku: That's so incredible... Not only do you get good grades, you're also a talented archer, you're a class representative and you go to cram school. Mafuyu: Hehe. Not as incredible as you, Hinomori, since you do your best to attend club while being an active idol.mafuyu says "It's getting very noisy. I think they're setting up the stage or something."and shizuku says it's for a festival and her group is preforming there mafuyu congratulates her. in empty sekai mizuki talks about wanting to go and mafuyu says some of the information she learned from shizuku and kanade mentions leo/need will be preforming. and n25 wants to go nut mafuyu needs to think about it (we all know she goes). in ep4 mafuyu goes to the volunteer meeting point to see what she'll be doing and ends up working around tbe stage giving directions. when she bumps into shizuku again:Mafuyu: (I'll essentially just be giving directions to people who ask, so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.)Mafuyu: (But...)Mafuyu: (What is this feeling...?)Mafuyu: (It's like... raise your bow in this snow white world (shizu mixed 2. it is THE shizumafu event. here's the synopsis One day at the archery club, by a strange coincidence, Shizuku senses something hidden beneath Mafuyu's smile. It reminds her of the time when they met for the first time and...shizuku wanted to see the archery club bc a senior member of cheerful*days said it was great for their posture, and mafuyu wanted join because she saw how happy the captain was while handing out flyers. shizuku kept noticing how perfect mafuyu was compared to her and both admired her and was jealous (sad jealous not im gonna be mean jealous). mafuyu decided to join and shizuku wasn't sure until mafuyu asked her about it and said how suited her really well.Mafuyu: ...Mafuyu: (I wish it'd just keep snowing...)Mafuyu: (Then, everything would be buried in snow. And I'd be able to stay here...forever...)???: Asahina...Mafuyu: Hinomori...?Mafuyu: Can I help you? We don't have club activities today. Also, I thought you were practicing with Momoi and the others...Shizuku: They had some schedule conflicts, and it's snowing, so we decided to call it off.Shizuku: Would you like to practice shooting with me?Mafuyu: Huh? That time, you taught me how to calm myself...And how focusing on just shooting your arrow allows you to clear your mind of unnecessary thoughts...After putting what you said into practice, Asahina, I was able to hit the target for the first time...In essence, you saved me. mafuyu is surprised and shizuku says more about how important of a role mafuyu played in all of it. mafuyu still says she didn't do much but shizuku knows she did more than that. shizuku starts saying how she wants to return the favor, after seeing a bit of mafuyus true (sad version) self. mafuyu says how it was just it stress from exams, shizuku doesn't fully believe her but doesn't pressure her as it would only make things worse. anyways i won't write anymore reading this event is 100% worth it it's beautiful it's amazing its my life.

put your heart into this one stitch (shizumafu valentines). i never finished reading this one bc i opened a tab and accidentally closed it and never opened it again so im waiting for it on en now :) here's the synopsis tho: Shizuku wishes to give back to Mafuyu, who had always helped her with her studies and club activities. While thinking of ways to show her appreciation, she finds out Mafuyu is having a hard time coming up with a design for an accessory she's making for home economics class.
