The thing about credit is that it’s not zero-sum. There’s room for everybody, and you’ll shine if other people are shining.
Nothing comes easy.
People should earn their rights to listen to your stories.
I will take whatever life throws at me. Deal with it, learn from it, grow out of it.
Some people are just not worth your headspace.
I think you might like this book – "Thanks for the Feedback: The Science and Art of Receiving Feedback Well" by Douglas Stone, Sheila Heen.

We need to understand who is evaluating whom and what the criteria for success and advancement are. We’ll need to have thoughtful two-way conversations throughout the year about goals and progress, in time to address problems along the way.
How to speak in a way that people will listen or the message will through is so important.
But often our own observations about how we learn best can make a huge difference in our ability to take in the feedback. We’re explaining our particular defensive formation not to block givers out, but to help them get through.
Your aim is to find ways that you and your coach can collaborate so that communication is clear and efficient and you learn what’s most important to learn as quickly as you can. The goal is to work together to minimize the interference.
