HIS FIRST PRECIDENCY 2017 - 2021:
Donald John Trump (The most basic bitch name out there). Was first elected into office on January 20, 2017, becoming the 45th president after winning against Hillary Clinton (A women keep this in mind.)
His 2017 - 2021 presidency fell on the outbreak of Covid-19, which has been ranked as the 6th most deadly plague in History. He downplayed the seriousness of the COVID-19 virus early on, which contributed to the spread of the disease in the U.S. He then very publicly disagreed with health experts, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, before suggesting it was a bright idea to inject disinfectant into the body to kill the illness. He was immediately met with outrage from medical professionals saying things such as
"This notion of injecting or ingesting any type of cleansing product into the body is irresponsible and it's dangerous.
"It's a common method that people utilise when they want to kill themselves."
"Don't take medical advice from Trump."
Though his cult like followers seemed to like Trumps pea-brained ideas over warnings from those who have studied at university for years on end. After his comment at least 5 U.S.A states reported an increase in poison control calls. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said his state received âhundreds of calls." But it wasnât just Maryland and Michigan residents who took Trumpâs advice seriously. New York Cityâs Department of Health and Mental Hygiene said it saw an increase in calls within the 18-hour period after Trumpâs briefing on Thursday. The poison control center recorded 30 cases by Friday, including nine âspecifically about exposure to Lysol, 10 cases specifically about bleach and 11 cases about exposures to other household cleaners,â department spokesperson Pedro F. Frisneda told NPR. Kansas Poison Control reported an increase of 40% in cleaning chemical cases.
Next we have The Charlottesville Response. A violent white nationalist rally which took place in Charlottesville, Virginia left in one death and leaving more than a dozen others injured counter-protesters dead after a car attack. Trump then publicly stated that there were âvery fine people on both sides,â failing to condemn white supremacy.
Now we are on to the Travel Ban.
President Trump issued an executive order blocking refugees and travellers with passports from seven Muslim-majority countries.
The ban was cruel, inhumane, and violated international law.
With the stroke of a pen, the President banned Syrian refugees from the USA indefinitely and prevented anyone (including refugees) from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the USA for 90 days.
He also halted the US refugee resettlement programme for 120 days, and indicated that when this restarts the US will slash the maximum number of refugees it will receive from 110,000 to 50,000.
These countries all have one thing in common: most people seeking asylum from these countries are trying to escape serious human rights abuses like torture and mass murder. For most, returning home is not a choice.
He is a result of numerous other harmful things that happened in 2017 - 2021 (such as referring to Mexicans as animals) but going through each one will take me my grave, so instead lets skip to towards the end where its announced that he has lost the 2021 - 2024 election against Joe Biden (A man keep this in mind)
After the 2020 election results were certified, Trump repeatedly refused to concede to Joe Biden, claiming widespread voter fraud without providing credible evidence. This led to a months-long campaign of challenging the election results in court, where almost all of his lawsuits were dismissed. He continued to make baseless claims about the election being "stolen" and pushed these claims to his supporters and the media
On January 6, 2021, a joint session of Congress was in the process of certifying Joe Biden's Electoral College victory when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building. The rioters disrupted the certification process and caused significant damage to the Capitol. Trump had earlier given a speech in which he repeated claims of election fraud and told the crowd to "peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard," but his rhetoric contributed to the violence. The attack resulted in deaths, injuries, arrests, and widespread damage, and it prompted the evacuation of lawmakers.
Then before leaving the White-house Trump stole "hundreds of classified documents," They then transported the boxes to Mar-a-Lago â Trumpâs golf club and new residence â and at one point stored them in a ballroom and a shower, among other locations
All of this is just disgusting, but somehow he managed to get into office again for 2025 after winning against his opponent Kamala Harris (A women.)
And so far he's brought hell.

Oh, this review is going to be a wild ride. The range of things I feel for this book is very unreal. Listen, the atmosphere of this? The settings? The premise? I couldnât get enough. Dare I even say close to perfect? And the plot had me so very invested in every single way. But this actual story and the plot conveniences, the characters and their lack of critical thinking, the obvious plot twists? The Lord might be testing me. The whiplash I felt while reading this was a full experience and deserves a star rating of its own, truly.
When you open this book for the first time, the prologue will transport you to a stormy night in 19th century Italy, where two little twin girls are being gifted very special necklaces while slowly learning their witch powers and history from their grandmother. There are seven demon princes but only 4 the witches should fear, but somehow their necklaces will keep them safe, even though they are instructed to never place them together.
"One will crave your blood. One will capture your heart. One will steal your soul. And one will take your life."
Then the story actually takes place ten years in the future, where Emilia and Vittoria are now eighteen-years-old, but we see how that night has shaped their lives for the last decade in so many different ways, but for sure centering on those necklaces that were entrusted to them. Both girls are trying to help their family with their restaurant, find and follow their dreams, and lead normal lives, but they soon find out that normal and safe and happy was never in the cards for them.
Again, I do not want to give much away, because I think I very much benefited from not reading the synopsis of this story. But the gates of hell are weakening, and their city and family are no longer safe. Not only do they have to worry about hiding the fact that they are witches, but now they have to worry about demon princes, witch hunters, and other creatures that go bump in the night! But Emilia is thrust in the heart of it all, with her witchcraft on full display, when she makes a deal with a demon when she is most desperate.
Together, Emilia and Wrath (be still, my BDB heart) are forced to work together to investigate brutal and mysterious murders that are happening, but they are both looking for clues for very different reasons. My favorite part of this book was truly going alongside Emilia and seeing all these different settings. From secret casinos, to her familyâs kitchen, surprise palaces, spooky beaches, to the scary and dark corridors within the church, I couldnât get enough of all the different adventures in all the different places.
"Grief carved me in half. And fury honed the pieces into a weapon."
I really loved the depiction of grief and depression in this book, too. How the weight of sadness can be unbearable, especially alone, when your world and future are taken from you right before your eyes. I also think Kerri Maniscalco did a really good job portraying not only the different stages that can be held within grief, but to also tell the reader that there is truly no wrong way to grieve. Heartbreak can be sadness and pain, but it can also be anger and revenge.
I also did really enjoy the romance and I think if you are looking to indulge in a new OTP that will remind you of 2015 then you are in luck with this one! I did enjoy Wrath a lot more than Emilia for the most part, but I feel like the plot convenience (and Emilia acting stupid) was the downfall of this book. I am not good at unraveling mysteries, but I truly unraveled this one instantly, I only wish Emilia could have a little sooner and it made the reading experience a bit annoying. Also, she gets upset at the strangest things, and wholeheartedly accepts the wildest things for no reason. I truly feel like her character was mostly used to move the book along conveniently instead of actually making her feel like a main character with depth and identity.
Also, Iâm just going to say it, the grandmother in this book is one of the most infuriating characters Iâve read about all 2024. Like, regardless of prophecies, how are you going to be this mysterious with eight-year-old little girls and then really not fill them in on any blanks for the next ten years of their lives too? The grandma is really written to look like this cool and wise character who helps save the day, but I truly could not stand her or her shocked reaction when things would fall apart around her.
On top of the mysteries in this book being a bit of a letdown, I will also say that I felt like so many big events in this book kind of happened just for (hopefully) set ups for the next installment. Iâm all for setting up things in early books, but it just kind of feels bad when absolutely nothing happens regarding these big chapters after the scene has ended. I feel like if this book felt more cohesive throughout, instead of just setting up for what is to come, I would have gotten so much of a higher rating from me, but I have to rate and review off the material that is given to me and it made for a bit of an infuriating reading experience.

Overall, I couldnât put this book down. Truly. And I would bet you a great sum of money that I will also pick up the next one, because this book ended on a very perfect cliffhanger set up that I greedily want to know everything about. This book really did give me nostalgic feels for some reason, it made me very hungry most of the time, and it made me truly never want to put it down. The writing is so easily consumable, and I really did fall in love with the setting and plot set up. I only wish it felt a little bit more like a full story and not just a set up book. I still predict that this book will do really well, and I think most people will have a very good reading experience with this with.
I know many found this book to have a very unique writing style, but I can't help but think how terrible and awkwardly written it was.Â

Juliette does nothing but sulk around, wait for death, and whine. I saw no potential of her growing.
Adam is just there...
Warner is just... almost there? I must admit that a few times, he had potential to be a good character. I thought he was the only character that brought something. He made me cringe. He made me angry, made me feel uncomfortable. He was getting there. At least then I felt like he had some sort of purpose in this story. Then he would say something so cheesy, so inconsistent with his character, and just downright stupid that I lost all hope in him.
Kenji was just fucking annoying.Â

I loved this story as a whole, but some aspects of the plot could have been better developed.
When a battalion from Volgaard arrives at the castle where Isabel works and wants to search the island for good spots to use to launch their ships to attack another country, Isabel is sent as a guide to accompany the generalâs son, Erik. Even though she is only a physicianâs apprentice, she is sent to get information about their plan and weapons, even wooing him if necessary to get the information, so she can relay it to the minister in the castle, and they can try to stop this war before it starts. If she fails, the Volds will use Isabelâs island as a base to wage war against their enemy, and Isabelâs island will get destroyed in the midst of it.
The world-building is simple and has a Nordic inspiration. The names of the characters and some words they use reminded me of Scandinavian, but it doesnât involve Norse mythology. Itâs more of a Scandinavian vibe that the Volds have. I would have loved to have a map at the beginning of the book, as I am a visual person, but maybe there isnât one because I have an ARC copy, and there will be one in the final version of the book. It didnât prevent me from understanding what was happening, but they kept naming countries, islands, and villages, and I wished I could see a map to have a better idea of what their world looked like and what their travels looked like.
I like that the story is presented as Isyâs confession that she is writing during the night before her execution. It gave the whole story an ominous vibe, because we knew that something would go wrong, and she would end up sentenced to death, but we had no idea what or when it would go to hell, or even who would imprison and condemn her.
The story is good, but the foundation of the whole plot is a little shaky. The fact that Isy ends up being the guide for a group of Volds makes no sense, considering that she is no guide or scout, she is much needed at the palace as one of the royal physicianâs apprentices, and lastly, why on Earth would she be the best-suited person to spy on the Volds and learn valuable information? Even if the reason is that she can seduce Erik to get information, surely the minister has other people he trusts more, and who would be better equipped for the mission? Because of that shaky foundation, no matter how good the rest of the story was, I kept wondering why Isy ended up in this situation, and it annoyed me because it just felt like the author needed her there, and found a way to make it happen even if it didnât make much sense.Â
The last 25% of the book also had parts that felt weak. Why is Isy allowed to remain in Erikâs camp, with all the vicious, cold, and violent Volds, simply because he said sheâs allowed to, and nobody messes with her? Whatâs the explanation given to everyone else, while she remains in Erikâs tent while he trains her to be a better spy? Why would the rebels let her have all the time she needs when they are struggling to hide and stay alive? But at the same time, they are just camped in the castle kitchen where anyone can find them⌠I was under the impression that they had to hide from the Volds, that they were rebels, but the Volds didnât seem to care about them or try to find them even.
The rescue from the prison at the end also felt way too easy. Isy had no idea how to pretend to be a guard, but she still managed to fool the other guards into leaving her to guard the prison. I would also assume that Erik would have had some extra guards or special measures put in place to ensure he didnât escape, but no, they just unlocked his cell and walked out without any problem. I would have enjoyed this part more if I felt that Isy struggled to get him out if they had to work harder and think more instead of just going along with Isyâs plan, and the convenient fact that she managed to get laundry uniforms, get into the castle without anyone questioning her and that she knew just how the guard rotation and prison worked.
I still enjoyed this book a lot, and the story is good, itâs just that this one decision that sent everything into motion still doesnât make sense to me, and some aspects of the plot that were conveniently overlooked near the end. Despite that, the pace is good, the plot is interesting, and the characters are relatable.
Isabel is easy to love and a very relatable character. I think everyone felt at one time that they were not being seen, or not enough for someone else. Isabel grows a lot in this book. She gains confidence in herself and her self-worth, and she finds herself along the way. She went from being an insecure, mildly annoying young main character, to revealing her layers and complex emotions and being willing to take risks and see that she mattered to others.
Erik is the powerful (and very attractive) son of the Voldsâ general. He is angry at first to be stuck with Isabel on his mission and makes it clear that he doesnât want her there, but he is never cruel to her. He is stern and cold at first, but the more Isabel tries to get him to open up, the more she observes him, and the more she sees the vulnerable but charming man under the mask.
I can see why the author described this romance as a good fit for Dramione fans. The romance in this book is a hate-to-love, but thankfully, itâs not too heavy on the love part. I mean, I want to see Isy and Erik in love and happy together, but it would have annoyed me if they professed their undying love for each other after spending only a few weeks on the road together. We can feel from the beginning that there is attraction and tension between them, and they will eventually grow closer, but it is smooth and realistic, and the author did a good job of building a bond between them based on their attraction for each other, but also the fact that they both felt unimportant for so long and recognize themselves in the other.
There is some banter, but it did feel a little too juvenile for my taste. It was not bad, but it betrayed the fact that the main character is only 17 years old (I think?). There is also some smut, but it's mostly fade to black, and nothing too explicit.
There is an underlying message throughout the book, that no matter who you are, you are enough and you matter. Both Isy and Erik felt small and unimportant in their youth. Isy still feels this way, and Erik feels like his only worth is his magic, and they recognize that in each other. Itâs what pushes them to open up to each other and try to build a bond, and it was beautiful but heartbreaking to see how they constantly reminded each other that they saw the other for who they were, that they mattered and were important, because they knew exactly how the other felt.
I am happy I gave this book a chance, it was an easy and quick read, and I am intrigued enough about Isy and Erik's story to want to read the sequel when it comes out
You'll have a much better experience reading Lightlark if you take it for what it is, rather than what the marketing and hype has made it to be.

set in a universe run by cursed realms, lightlark is an island that appears once every century, to host the centennial â a deadly 100-day tournament where the rulers of six realms are invited to compete in order to fulfill the prophecy and eradicate their realmsâ curses. the catch? one ruler must die to complete the prophecy, not only dooming them but also their realm as a whole. therefore, the rulers must lie, cheat, and betray in hopes of winning the centennial and assuring their realmâs safety.
Thoughs:
The plottwists in "Lightlark" were absolutely MAD...
I for sure did not expect the vast majority of what happened in this book (which was quite a shocker for me because mostly I can predict almost the entire plot of a story...)
For me personally it had the perfect amount of world building. However, I'm also not that "proficient" when it comes to fantasy books, so if you're used to super complex worlds/magic systems, you'll find this one rather banal, I'd assume.
Additionally, I have to genuinely admit that I loved all the characters of major importance. Isla owns my heart because of how deeply she cares about her kingdom/realm and people she loves. She is such a caring person while also managing to be super strong and vulnerable at the same time, which is quite rare, in my opinion. Isla was ready to go an extra mile for her principles, people she loves and her morals, which, I'd say, is admirable for and in a protagonist. Also, Isla isn't flawless and mistakes happen in her logic, which like... Nobody is perfect. So I was totally fine with her being overwhelmed and maybe acting impulsively before first reconsidering and trying to find other options, since that's a very "human" thing to do. As for the 2 main male character, I have to say that I liked Oro and Grimshaw pretty much equally. I can't even pick who out of these 2 I liked more because they both had positive and negative character traits and actions. As can be seen, I just love imperfect characters because I think that this is what makes them "perfect" in a way. It's closer to reality when characters aren't flawless.
Overall, I think Alex Aster did a really good job. The book is well written (given that it's YA and not adult literature) as well as extremely easy to read due to the flow of the phrases and the intriguing plot. Can I say it was something groundbreaking? Not really. Was I still absolutely invested and did not see most of the plot twists coming? Absolutely.

I absolutely adored this book. The world created is so mesmerizing. The characters and storyline are so compelling. Both the leads- Paedyn and Kai are lovable. I'll be honest, this book is not perfect but I enjoyed it regardless.

I absolutely LOVED the characters and the complexities that came with them. Kai and Paedyn were imperfectly perfect. They have so much depth and life to them, it was hard to resist them.
Kai is going straight to my book boyfriends list. The man is capable of making me swoon and feel things by merely saying a few words and they don't even have to be romantic. He radiates such energy, charisma, and obviously his powers intrigues me a lot. The way he is so smitten with Pae is everything. For him, she is the only girl in the room. For him, she is his and he'll do anything to keep her alive and safe.
Paedyn is no less. She is fierce, equally charismatic and full of zeal and the woman knows how much power she holds in her flirtations, touches over Kai. Her confidence and the ability to stay strong is so impressive. I loved how she holds her own. She tried so hard to resist the charms of the prince and yet found herself wanting him more and I absolutely loved it.
The romance is deliciously angsty and slow burning. I get some people are on the surface cause it's YA and don't really want to give it a go cause of that but believe me you're gonna be missing out on the beauty of these two and their intense chemistry. I didn't find myself yearning for spice, everything about these two hit perfectly and I wouldn't change a thing about it at all. There conversations are so witty and I didnt manage to get through any of there interactions without kicking my feet and giggling
Being honest here a bit more of editing would have been nice, but I hardly noticed it on my first read through as I was just wizzing through it out of enjoyment. Though the time I spent after re-reading definitely brought out some of the mistakes.
