"Carrie" 2013
I recently watched the movie 'Carrie' and I'm amazed at how well-written this movie is. The original version of this movie was actually released in 1976, and the 2013 version (that one I watched) is only the remake. I'd like to watch the original one but I don't know where to.
Anyways... a quick movie summary... Carrie White is a shy, quiet, and introverted 16-year-old girl from High School. She doesn't have any friends, she's an outcast, her classmates bully her, and her weird excessively religious mother who controls her and did not teach her much about the real world is just making her life miserable. One day, In her School's bathroom Carrie White got her first period, she's in complete shock, screaming, crying, and trying to reach out to her classmate to get some help. Instead of helping her, her classmate just laughs at her and throws tampons at her. Luckily, her teacher helps her and punished all the students who mocked her. Because of that incident, Carrie discovers a superpower and that is the ability to control things by just focusing or looking at them and trying to move her hand.
Fast Forward..... one of her classmates named Sue, who did not help her when she had a hard time in the girl's bathroom, felt bad about what they did. There's a boy in Carrie's class named Tommy, Carrie likes him, but she can't do anything about her feelings because Tommy is Sue's boyfriend. Since Sue feels guilty about what she did to Carrie, she tries to help her, by asking her boyfriend Tommy to go to the prom with Carrie and not her. Sue is aware that Carrie has a crush on Tommy, so she thinks that it's the best way to make Carrie happy at least once in her life. Carrie's mother didn't allow her to come to the prom, and in order to go, she locked her mother in the praying room with the use of her superpower. Carrie doesn't want to do that, but she doesn't have a choice since she really wants to go to the prom.
At the prom, Carrie and Tommy are having a great time, and apparently, they won as the Prom King and Queen, Carrie is so happy, she never felt something like that before, she didn't even imagine herself going to a prom. However, Chris, her classmate who is prohibited to go to prom because of what she did to Carrie and by not following her teacher's instructions, conducted a plan and that is to put Carrie in an embarrassing moment by pouring pig's blood on her and by broadcasting or playing the video of her period incident in the bathroom. Carrie got so angry, she use her superpowers to punish all the students present, she felt like she was being fooled. She locks the door, creating an explosion, everything is on fire, some students died also Chris and her boyfriend who created the plan died because of the explosion in the gas station that Carrie made. When she got home, Carrie felt broken,, her mother tried to kill her and later on... they both died. Sue survived, Sue tried to help Carrie but she insisted, Carrie found out that Sue is pregnant so she let her go.
THE END.
There are still a lot of things that happened, but I can't write them all. If you want to know more about this movie then you should go watch it. It's really not that scary, it's a thriller-horror movie but not as scary as 'The Conjuring" when ugly and creepy faces are coming out. I felt sad for Carrie, she had never been happy, she wants to be a normal girl but no one let her be.
