There's someone who regularly posts on a Facebook page for a parent group I'm in IN ALL CAPS WITH LOTS OF EXCLAMATION POINTS!!! And addresses grown people with "HEY CUTE GIRL!!!!!!" This is the most innocuous strain of the worst type of person. But still, the worst type of person, no?

Oh, North Carolina.

Where so many election season ads reaffirm our vote for the other candidate.

Last night for example, we walked in the door at 5:30pm. I sent the kids out to our garden to pick 2 tomatoes and a cucumber from our garden (ours was a late crop) while I put together a plate of hummus and carrots. When they came in I sliced up the cucumber and tomatoes. W and I had a salad with them along with the carrots and hummus. Added in a large bowl of goat’s milk yogurt with a drizzle of honey on top. We were finished eating and had dishes in the dishwasher by 6:15. Before going to bed at 7:30 W had an apple with sunflower butter and a large glass of whole milk. None of the food prep above took me more than 5 minutes. No, it wasn’t a “meal” in the traditional sense, but it was all arguably nutritious and very minimally processed. I think that a lot of folks don’t feel like something is a “meal” if it doesn’t include a lot of cooking, especially if they’re meat eaters.

A. really only has temper tantrums when she's in need of a taco. Taco Tuesdays are her favorite. I approve of this development! She recognized the "A" for her name in the ABC liquor store sign as we passed by. Early print awareness. So proud. She loves calling herself by her full name but then demands that Noodle also be called "Doggie Rose". The terrible twos aren't so bad, y'all.

A: (hands me a Magnadoodle) Write me an email, Mommy!
