Tomorrow I will do my best. Today... I tried and lost, again.
1 step forward 2 steps back
I slipped.
And I fell backwards.
Eventually I will not slip.
“Good morning! Happy Mother’s Day! Should I buy you flowers?”
Nah, man. If you have to ask, I don’t want them.
They’re flowers. Who the fuck hates flowers?
Thanks for showing my kids what their dad does to celebrate their mother.
Having hit a wall, the next logical step is not to bang our heads against it.

Funky Town
My mom was a tiny lady her entire life. After some trauma.. she packed on the pounds and they never fell off.
She did her best with diet drinks, walking, and my favorite... 1980s workouts via record player. There was a paper fold out that explained the exercise and prompts in between the music saying what to do next. Even now I do a lunge to “Funky Town”
Step #2 to evolving a daisy... Exercise. For heart health and losing weight. I will succeed where my mom sadly failed... repeatedly.
I remember when Feria came out. I was 18.. maybe 19.. and that metallic shine on the box screamed “We’re cool!” and I thought.. what the hell. Let’s make my red hair on FIRE. It wasn’t my mom’s hair color... it felt inviting to do it yourself. I felt empowered. And so once again... as I re-discover myself. I found it in Feria.
Step #1 for evolving a daisy... Change your hair color.
I declare.
It’s all Muriel’s Wedding
You turn 40 and catch yourself in the mirror and think, “Who is that?” and it’s you. But you look old, tired, still plain.
You look deeper. She’s in there. That teenager that had imagination and gusto. She’s in there... still waiting.
Could you free her? Could you possibly turn into the best version of yourself?
It’s possible. It has to be. And it begins today.
