I would like to note that when I share these stories, it's not to gain sympathy. It's to elaborate on why I chose those lyrics, especially because I seem like such an energetic and happy person to my mutuals that I frequently interact with.
So basically, my entire childhood, my little sister (the middle child, we'll call her Grace) and I have been dubbed as the "bad children" or the "problem children," and you know how my parents dealt with that? They spanked us. More specifically my dad. The most recent one was when we were calling my paternal grandparents and I was feeling hyper that day. My dad called me over, I got scared, so I started to back away. My dad was getting frustrated but I ended up turning around and full on running away. He chased me, and I entered the house and went downstairs (bad idea). I went to my room and was cornered (of course), he spanked me (very hard, mind you), and I pissed myself. He then told me to clean my room and he left.
Another story is where I was sitting on the porch with Grace and my dad said that we were "being too mopey" and told us to go to our rooms and go to sleep. Grace and I did, but we didn't go to sleep. We stayed in our rooms for the rest of the day (it was around eight or nine AM when we were told to go to our rooms), they didn't call us up for dinner or anything. We were both hungry, of course, and Grace even thought about going upstairs and stealing a granola bar for each of us. I said no because it would be too risky. Grace and I eventually went to sleep but I ended up waking up at around four or five AM and throwing up (the vomit was clear, I repeat, the vomit was clear). I went to tell my parents because I had vomited over the sheets but ran to the bathroom instead because I had to puke again. Then I went to tell my parents, and it was the day before easter, so eater was ruined for me and Grace.
Yet another story is where Grace and I were told to take a nap (we just got done taking a shower, we were around four/five/six at this time), I asked why, and I got a plastic tablet thrown between my crotch. I peed myself, so my dad had to re-wash my body. It bruised about a day or two later and I asked my mom why my dad did it in the first place. She said it was because I "backtalked," I didn't know what that meant at the time so I asked her what that meant and she literally REFUSED to elaborate.
Wow, another story. Basically, my mom was mad about something and Grace and I were called up and she said a lot of things that I forgot (mainly directed towards me) and then she said "You're the reason why your father and I might be getting a divorce!" (or something like that). It, of course, deeply affected me, and my parents noticed something was wrong with my and my dad sat me down and I told him about it and how he agreed with it. He apparently talk to my mother about it because a day or two later he sat me down again and said that my mom doesn't remember saying that. Well, obviously, I was just hallucinating (I'm being sarcastic if you haven't noticed)!
Next story is that my little sister (youngest child, we'll call her Payten), my dad, Grace, and I were at the playground. Some stuff happened and then my dad said that if Grace and I didn't play with Payten, he'd make our lives a living hell for a week. Grace and I just ended up awkwardly following Payten around. We eventually got sick of it and I yelled at my dad briefly before sitting down on a bench and trying to hide my tears (I've gotten good at bottling them up).
Last story, but definitely not the least. My dad (and possibly my mom) were mad at me for something (I forgot), Payten said something about me being dumb or stupid or having no brain or something. I obviously tried to defend myself and said that I DID have a brain, but my dad agreed with Payten and said that I have no brain. Very fun experience, especially because a few days later my parents were saying that I was smart or something and complaining about me not doing something even though I'm "smart."
Long story short, I have not fully healed from my trauma that was caused by my parents. I'm frequently called a bully by Payten and my mother because I'm now cold and distant towards them and spend most of my time after school and during the weekend in my room.
