One last blog
So I have officially come to the end of my time as an insight ambassador, and I can honestly say it's been a pleasure. Getting to share my story and advice this past year, along with my passion for university has been amazing. Tomorrow is my graduation and so I may post a cheeky photo, though I will officially be a undergrad/insight no more! Though I'll be sad to see my friends go, they aren't going too far and as for USW I'll be back come September 😝 I'd like to thank those who have read my blog this last year (if there are any of you that aren't related to me tehe), and want to wish all the new insight ambassadors good luck! Especially James who is the new insight for Newport, go check out his blog now, and the others also😋. Thanks again guys it's been great, Daisy M xx
Huge congratulations again to all those graduating this week, and to those who have already!
My dress for graduation, so excited for Thursday! 🎓🎉
It always feels strange not having assignments to do over the summer, even more so now I'm completely done 😱🙈
Spent a couple nights in Porthcawl/Margam with my twinnie friend Hannah! Had a couple lush black mojitos and played around with a new app I found, as you can see😝
Shout out to all the Psychology Students, past, present and future! ✌🏼️
Looking for graduation outfits 💃🏻🎓
It's the final countdown!
University for me has been a dream come true, but like this says you get what you work for. Put in your all and you'll get twice as much back 🎓
Top tips for Halls
Living in halls of residence is a unique experience and although it’s not for everyone, I would definitely recommend giving it a go in your first year/few weeks. It’s a great way to make friends and can be key to finding your feet, especially as bonds are made quickly at university. Here are a couple bits of advice to make the most of the experience.
Be confident!
You know the saying you’ve got to fake it to make it well thats not strictly true, you should always be yourself first and foremost BUT don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and approach your new flat mates/neighbours. Say hello to as many people as you can in freshers week, and maybe get a few numbers too. Add people on Facebook and get talking, trust me the worst that will happen if they will ignore you, and you know what that’s is there loss (If anything you’ll feel less guilty about asking them to wash up ha)!
Be considerate.
Don’t be the one who keeps needing to be told about the washing up! Tehe As students we can all be messy, but you can’t expect your flatmates to do their part if you won’t. This also goes for things such as noise, there will be times when you just want some peace and quite to revise or relax, and so will your flatmates. Consider how loud you may seem to them, and maybe give them a heads up if you plan on having a party for example. If they don’t show the same concern for you, you actually have a leg to stand on when complaining about them.
Be an Opportunist
Parties or get togethers happen a lot in halls, and from my experience many hold an open door policy (literally). This means that they are quite happy for others to join in and socialise, especially during freshers weeks. If you find yourself sat in your room after something to do, grab a friend (or go alone if you are comfortable) and follow the noise. This is always a great way to meet new people, and 90% of my friends now I actually met on the first weekend of uni, many of which from a random party 😋
Side note: bring your own booze if you drink, don't be the one who turns up with nothing and drinks everyone else!
Hope this helps,
Daisy M xx

Sign, Sealed, Delivered
As I've mentioned before my plans for after graduation include going onto post graduate study in Counselling, and on Tuesday I had an interview for my course. It went a bit differently than most interviews due to the nature of the course, as it required me to be open to personal discussion, as well as a written element. On Thursday I was offered an unconditional place, and I could not accept quick enough! My online portal wasn't working so I rang the uni straight up and explained. Following the interview I felt even more excited to go into this area of study, as it will not only allow me to develop my academic knowledge but also grow as a person. I'll be studying one day a week, again on our (lovely) Caerleon campus beginning September 2015, so I will officially be staying on at USW. As I said before I couldn't see myself going anywhere else, as I've been so happy here. It's only a part time course, so I'm currently looking for work to support myself finically and also keep me busy 😝. I'm waiting to hear back from a couple jobs this week so wish me luck! Daisy M xx
Interviewing for jobs is always interesting.

It's official!
So two days ago I found out that I will officially be graduating from the University of South Wales with a 2:1 degree in Psychology, and I can't tell you how happy I am! For anyone who may not know the passing grades are as follows: 1st, 2:1, 2:2, 3rd, in that order. Since coming to uni it has been my goal to achieve a 2:1, so you can imagine my relief and pride at midnight when the results came out. Yes I was one of those people refreshing the page, even though they aren't really suppose to be released until 9am 😝. I wasn't alone in this about 90% of third years did the same tehe What now? Well my graduation ceremony in on 16th July at 5:00pm, so it's quite a late one but plenty of time for those all important *throws hat in the air* pictures! I'm so excited though know it will all be over far too quick, just like the past three years. Speak soon, Daisy M xx
