DALEY’S COMING HOME ✖️✖️✖️
Daley Blind has completed a transfer from Manchester United back to former club AFC Ajax.
The versatile and technically-gifted Netherlands international has signed a four-year contract with his boyhood club in Amsterdam, from whom he initially joined the Reds in August 2014.
In total, across four seasons in England, Blind registered 141 Reds appearances and scored six goals. The 28-year-old also won four trophies and his first was the 2016 Emirates FA Cup, when he played every minute of our celebrated 2-1 extra-time victory over Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium. The FA Community Shield success over Leicester City followed in August and our League Cup triumph against Southampton in February 2017. Blind’s standout achievement at United was surely the UEFA Europa League triumph over Ajax on that emotional evening in Stockholm, where he contributed to a pivotal clean sheet at centre-back alongside his good friend Chris Smalling.

you know when people say nice things about your favorite player and you take it as a personal compliment
But I love the football that brings people together across religious divides, geographic divides, political divides. I love the fact that for ninety minutes in a rectangular piece of grass, people can forget, hopefully, whatever might be going on in their life and rejoice in this communal celebration of humanity. The biggest diverse, invasive or pervasive culture that human kind knows is football and I love the fact that, at the altar of football, human kind can come worship and celebrate. x
