Phong nha national park Vietnam
Phong Nha to Hoi An, Vietnam
Wednesday night I said goodbye to Blended at the airport. I'm not gonna lie I wasn't sad. In fact, I was glad to begin my adventure solo. That night I stayed over with one of the embassy workers who was so kind to let me have her place to get ready and to get my bearings before I took off. I knew I wanted the bus to Phong nha national park (about a 10 hr bus ride) and I knew it departed at 6pm , I just didn't know where the bus station was or how much it would cost or how I would get there. But I decided not to stress about it and that I'd figure it out in the morning. Thursday morning I woke up earlier than I had hoped. Around 7am. So I decided to make myself useful. I hand washed my underwear and a couple other garments of clothing and hung them outside to dry. Gave my hair one last brow dry and shaved my legs doubly. Holy cow the view was beautiful from this house. It was hard to leave. Around noon I was on my way though. I started down in the lobby with my backpackers pack and asked the front desk how to get to the bus stop that goes to phong nha. I could tell the lady was confused but she seemed to be confident she could get me where I wanted. Next thing you know she has me in a taxi and speaks to the driver in Vietnamese and I'm off. Well about 20 minutes later and out of the area I was staying I find myself getting dropped off at the train station. I try to tell the driver over and over I want the bus station and he keeps saying "yes" "yes" "yes" as he motions for me to get out of the car. Finally I feel defeated and just get out. Hoping that maybe the bus station is also at the train station but my guts telling me otherwise. Sure enough! The train station is NOT the bus station. Lol. And I'm trying to get the ladies at the information desk to tell me how to get there. Finally between the two of them they tell me it's roughly 3 miles that I need to walk to get there and they just point me in the direction. At this point I'm hot. And hangry. So I sit down at the train stations steps and eat some saltines I had on me. Feeling better I start my trek. As I walk there is no side walk. Cars, buses and motobikes... Even bicycles ...are honking at me but I have no choice but to just keep walking in the street, my back to the busy traffic, hoping for the best! Finally after about 3 miles of this I see a big bank. And no bus stop in site. I'm tired and feeling really lost in the big city at this point so I play real life Frogger crossing the streets to go into the bank and ask for help. Between about 6 employees finally one lady understood where I was trying to go and she sent me in a taxi back on the same side of town I started in (another 20 minute ride). And I was finally at the right bus station. Got my ticket. And then walked to the city view cafe and people watched from the top floor of downtown Hanoi with the best view of the city! Had some chicken wings, French fries, Vietnamese coffee and a glass of red wine. Then I caught my overnight bus and was on my way! The bus ride was rough to say the least. Lots of tossing and turning. Bright street lights making it impossible to sleep and rough bumpy back roads. I just closed my eyes and tried to day dream falling in and out of sleep every other minute it seemed. We arrived in Phong Nha national park area around 5am. I started to wait around to get a room at the nice hostel but you had to wait until noon to check in. So I ended up crossing the street to the less nicer hostel where I would share a room with 5 other people. Bunk beds dorm style. The good news though is I could check in right then, it was cheaper and I got free breakfast! $6 for a bed, shower and breakfast couldn't be beat! (Except for I started to realize it could. 😬💯) The dorm room smelled of sweaty balls and mildew. Not the hottest combination. And there was literally ZERO privacy, which is something that I've grown very fond of having. Yikes! But maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Just live in the moment and it will be good. I basically ended up going back to the dorm, dropping off my stuff and then heading to the lobby for breakfast and I signed up for a day trip tour into a couple of the caves there. I was SO tired but hoping the trip would wake me up. The tour had a van full of people from all over the world. Germany, Britain, Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Ireland, and I was the solo traveler from the states. We started off going to some temples in the caves, then we hiked to paradise cave one of the largest caves in the world and it was breathtaking. We had an hr and a half of free time to explore. I was really enjoying it but still pretty sleepy. Then we went to lunch. The food was awesome. And this was finally starting to give me a second wind. After lunch we got in our swimwear and watched this silly safety video about what the next part of the tour would be like and the guy in the video kept emphasizing how much everything would cost if we broke it and there were lots of school kid giggles in the group. Especially when the camera zoomed into the guys crotch after he put his harness on. Lol. The next leg of the tour was a lot more exciting. We went zip lining. Then swam to a dark cave. Had head lamps and helmets to help guide us. It was more natural then the first cave in the fact it didn't have all of the hand rails and lights for tourist. Felt more like an adventure. We hiked a ways into the cave and then had to swim again inside the cave to get where we were going. I got no pictures because we had to leave our cameras behind this part of the tour. As we kept walking (barefoot) the ground beneath us got muddier and muddier and before we knew it we were waist deep in mud. Probably the coolest thing I'd ever experienced. We all laid down in it. Barrel rolled. Laughed. Put mud war paint on each other's faces. And then there was a moment we all turned off our lights and just lay there in the pitch black in the middle of a cave in Vietnam covered in mud. That was my favorite part. Really let you take it all in. After about 20 minutes of playing in the mud we got out, and rinsed off in the water. Hiked back out and got on kayaks. We kayaked to another zip line where you zip line into the water! And then after that there was a zip line obstacle course with rope swings and rope latter and swinging benches to try and make across. Once I hit the swinging bench I accidentally hit it with my shin and it instantly bruised, swelled up and started bleeding. So I decided that was my sign to let go. Dang. And that was the day. Our guide gave us each a Vietnamese beer to enjoy and I accidentally left my only hoodie behind. Crap! The plan was to all meet up later at the nice hostel across the street for a night cap. But I was too tired to make it. I packed up my things, bought my bus ticket to Hoi an for 4am and went to sleep. I arrived yesterday at 2:30pm to sunshine and a beach. They upgraded my non view room to a view and I payed at the pool for the last couple hours of sun, had a Pina colada and French fries and made a friend at the pool who later joined me for dinner in old town Hoi an. It is the cutest town ever! I've decided to book a flight back to the main city instead of a 16hr bus ride in order to stay an extra night here! :) turns out the flight was the same price as the bus! Score! :) To be continued...
Goodbye Blended 328... Hello Vietnam!
Goodbye Blended 328... Hello Vietnam!
This last week has been a wonderful and amazing time with Blended 328 in Vietnam. We've had an opportunity to have musical and cultural exchange with many universities in the main cities and out in the provinces. What I've come to find is that no matter where we went we were always greeted warmly. Vietnam as a country is beautiful. But the people are what make its beauty breathtaking. :) Most of the time when I go on tour with Blended 328 (in fact- EVERY time) I am sad to leave so soon and am always craving just a little more time to explore the country on my own. I've heard many great things about Vietnam and it's hospitality that on this trip I've decided to do just that. I have one more week in this amazing country backpacking by myself and I can't wait to share what I find! Above is a picture of me saying my goodbyes to the band last night and seeing them off back to the states as my adventure awaits.... To be continued.... ;)
Missed Connection at BNA
For those of you who don't know, I'm going on vacation to Thailand with my family for 2 weeks! Oh man... I'm so excited! But knowing that it's JUST my family I haven't exactly brought my Sunday's best! I'm currently in a loose fitting blazers shirt and my softball sweats. Hair up. A tiny bit of mascara on but that's it. Not my FINEST moment but at least I showered this morning! ;) Anyway, this is a family trip so the least I'm worried about is any type of romantic connection. I'm going through security and as I finish I'm putting my shoes back on and this tall, dark, handsome man starts chatting me up about the Blazers! He's like are you REALLY a fan or just jumping on the band wagon cause they're good this year? I thought to myself, "bitch please... You're not from Portland are you?! ... Didn't think so!" But instead I smiled and enthusiastically claimed I was from Portland! Then all of a sudden we were chatting it up! He was talking about how Lillard isn't having his greatest year but the teams still doing well and we were just bantering back and forth. Very naturally. Then we found ourselves walking together and my gate was to the left and he went the other direction... And that was it. I started walking towards my gate and instantly felt panic that I'd never see this dude again. Then I thought... Shit! I don't even know his name?! All i know is that he's traveling to Boston! I can't even potentially stalk him on social media if I want to find him! Lol It was a very awkward departing. Neither of us said anything. We were in mid conversation and then we were in different directions. It all happened so quickly I didn't have time to think! I should have just said, "what's your name?" And then we got further and further and I swear we both looked back at each other (but maybe it was just me!) he HAD to have felt that connection too! That doesn't just happen every day! So I'm back at my gate and my mind starts beating myself up! I've GOT to find him! I'll go up to him and ask him his name and he'll be so glad and then we'll laugh and chat for the next hour before our flight leaves. And then he'll pick me up and kiss me goodbye and tell me how excited he is to see me when I get back! And then we'll start dating and it will be so fun and adventurous because well he just seems like fun! Such a vibrant personality and great smile! Lol Ok... Maybe the dating thing and the kiss was a little much... But can't blame a girl for thinking about it!! ;) Regardless... He was so fun I would LOVE to have that kind of energy In my life as a friend! I actually got up the courage to walk down to the food area to see if he might be wondering. No luck. Then I walked to another gate and if I ran into him my excuse would be "exercise" ;)... But I didn't find him... And the other gates were a LONG ways away. Sighs. Oh well. So- Tall, dark, handsome man in the light orange shirt... If you're reading this, come back and kiss me!!! 😘😘😘
The Story of Us! (How I met my true love on Craigslist!)
Two weeks before I moved to Nashville I hired a photographer to take some professional photos of me. And during my photo shoot I got a text from my brother in law. The text said, "here ya go!" And it was a craigslist link. I clicked on the link and there he was. The love of my life. I knew the second I looked at him he was the one for me. The way his big brown eyes pierced into the camera. He had a little extra pudge but that made him even more handsome. He was my soul mate and I HAD to have him! I thought "there is NO way he's not taken already!" But he wasn't. Just a few hours later I was going to meet him for the first time. My heart was racing, palms sweaty. I didn't know what to ask when I got there. I just knew he had to be mine. I drove about an hour and a half one way just to meet him. It was a little shady where we met. But I thought it was safer to meet in a public area for the first time. We met at a little corner store right off the highway in the Gorge that was closed at that time of night, but the street was lit up by the light post. He had come with his brother too, but I only had eyes for him. It was love at first sight. The second we met he jumped into my arms and started kissing me. Almost uncontrollably! Like we'd known each other for a lifetime! Without questions asked I pulled out $200 and he was mine! Louie Oscar Brown! My very first puppy and love of my life! 😂😍😍🐶💕😘
My True Love!!!
Happy New Years!!!
2014 has probably been the most challenging year of my life. -My dog and best friend (same individual) passed away during the holidays last year so this whole last year has been an emotional roller coaster simply for that fact. I miss my baby boy! - I had a really rough breakup this year and learned a lot about myself and what I want and don't want. But it was trying in the least! -I got constant migraines 8 months ago and they haven't gone away -my car got towed and then I had to pay someone else to keep it! -luckily I saved up for a new car- only to hit and kill a deer a couple months later and now my car has character! (Rainbow duct tape holding it together) Those were the highlighted unlucky moments of 2014... But going into the new year I feel happier and stronger than I've felt most of my life! So maybe they were luckier than I thought at the time! ;) What's so great about starting a new year is that it encourages you to look back and reflect but also move forward. Things I look forward to in 2015: The band I'm in, Blended 328 is in a really awesome positive place right now and I feel so lucky and blessed to be a part of it! Between our traveling and positive message we get to send to the world, and our album we're recording I feel like 2015 is going to bring amazing opportunities that I can't wait to enjoy and experience with my second family! I've also started my own band too! This is a dream come true for me. To write my own songs and play them out and having other people being a part of that vision too. It's definitely a piece of me that feels more complete now that I get to do that. Hopefully between the two bands I can be doing music full time! That would be the goal! No more side jobs please! :) Also the two people that are joining me on this venture are super talented and amazing individuals from Oregon too! It's going to be so much fun! And maybe this year will be the year I meet another puppy. But no pressure. I'll know when it's the right pup for me! :) Just as a side note- I want to mention this because I think we all get caught up in the glorified lives we see of others on social media. Nobody's life is as perfect as it seems, and if it is, they suck! ;) (just kidding!) But in all seriousness... At least for me my life is far from perfect. I definitely tend to post on the positive side cause who wants to share Debby downer stuff?! But regardless of the tough times I can honestly saying I'm doing what I love. It's not an easy choice to make being away from friends and family and postponing having a family to go after something with everything you have to not have any guarantees. But I can guarantee myself that I won't have regrets! So I'm at least winning there! Lol I guess now is where I have to come up with my New Years goals/resolutions ok. Here's 10 in no particular order! 1. Be a singer full time! (No more side jobs) 2. Go paragliding (that was on my list last year too... Whoops! I blame Dave Ramsey for me not going yet! ;) 3. Release an album of my music 4. Make a new best friend. Not just a friend. But a best friend! Cause why not?! 5. Go on a solo vacation this year. It's been too long. I get to travel a lot with my band but I don't get a lot of down time by myself to just let loose. I want that. I miss that. I NEED that. Ha ha. If anyone has a spot I could stay at if I fly somewhere, let me know! :) that would help me reach my goal easier lol. 6. Volunteer more. Whether it be organized or just helping someone out. I've recently been trying to do that more and I find it brings me much more joy to make someone else happy than it does myself! 7. Find out how to get rid of this damn headache I've had for 8 months! Gah! 8. Make a significant difference in someone else's life. Open ended here. But that's a goal of mine. 9. Move into a place with a fenced back yard (so I'm ready for that puppy!) 10. Camp somewhere other than my living room! And with other people! Woop! Happy New Years everybody! Be safe! Don't drink and drive! :)
I'm so excited to announce Audrey Edgley as the newest member to the #DallasBrownBand! Not only is she beautiful and sweet, she has the voice of an angel! Born and raised in #Gresham #Oregon (only a few miles from my hometown!) She moved to #Nashville, TN to pursue her career in the #countrymusic industry too and is currently a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas College. Her musical idol is #StevePerry and she uses #singing as a therapeutic outlet to relieve stress and express herself! You can also find her singing in the choir at the Cathedral of the Incarnation of downtown Nashville. Welcome Audrey!
My Date With The Military Dad
Figuring out what to do and where to go for our first date Joe says, "I DO have to get a hair cut tonight." So I asked if we could just meet there instead of at a coffee shop! Cause neither of us even drink coffee! Super Cuts it is! Our plan was to meet at 3pm but when I was on my way there already he called and said it would be 3:45. No big deal. I'm a big girl and can find something to do. Well it actually ended up working perfectly because on my way there a cop pulled up beside me and told me my break lights were out. Dang. But there just happened to be an auto shop next door to super cuts so I took care of it! Woop! I told Joe the story and he said he wished I would have let him fix it. I thought that was cute. But I was proud of myself none the less. So we met in the parking lot of super cuts. There was no awkward hug. But I did buy him some pistachios from the walgreens across the street cause he had mentioned he had no lunch and I know I get cranky when I'm hungry so I thought he should have a snack at least before dinner time! We go into super cuts and I pull up in the chair right beside him. It's one of those chairs that spins, so I'm just moving back and forth watching him and chatting it up with his stylist and him. The stylist was a really fun guy (not a mushroom ;)) and thought it was really neat it was our first date. Suggested we go downtown to see Paul McCartney tonight and that tickets at the low end were $300. Told Joe that would make a good impression. Too funny. At this point I'm thinking to myself, Joe is really cute. He seems to be really engaging with other people and I was feeling it. Excited for the night to come When we left super cuts Joe gave me an out. Said that he knows I like to be polite and asked if I actually wanted to continue the date. I said absolutely if he did. So we decided to park our cars at a Thai restaurant across the street from the titans stadium and then walk downtown to take pictures. It was a little brisk out but the sun was peaking in and out of the clouds offering some warmth so it wasn't so bad. He had a really nice camera since he does a lot of photography and was showing me how to work it. We ended up at this nice city park that had a stairwell up to the top of a lookout and we took some photos up there. I got to play the model for a little bit and then we switched turns. It was really playful and fun and I was really enjoying myself. Thinking this could definitely work! We finally made it back to the restaurant when the sun was about to go down and we ate in. Now we weren't so much being playful but actually sitting down and getting to know each other. Well, at least so I thought. The conversation I noticed was pretty one sided. It was a lot of him talking about all of the things he was into and wanted to continue to accomplish. Which was cool, but I can't say if he asked me one question about myself at that point. He wanted to make sure I knew all about him but didn't seem to care about anything I wanted to do or say. So I just played a good listener and let him talk. I understand that people get nervous sometimes, but it was definitely off-putting to me. So the dinner was over. And he paid like a gentleman, although I DID offer to help. Now what?! It was only 7pm at this point. So we're out in the restaurant parking lot and Joe leans back against my car. The sun is down and I'm freezing at this point so Joe motions for me to come close and snuggle/hug to get warm. It sounded inviting so I went for it. It was really nice too. But I could feel him start to tense up and get a little nervous and then it was kind of an awkward moment. I had the suggestion of laser tag since I'd seen it downtown before and I've been wanting to try it out and just never had the opportunity to do it with someone. So off we went! We decided to walk back downtown again. This time arm and arm cause it was cold. Then about half way through the walk he got ballsy and grabbed my hand to hold. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at this point, but figured it wouldn't be harmful and it was keeping me warm! So as we got closer to the laser tag he mentioned how the rainbow duct-tape on my car could be giving people the wrong impression. I laughed and told him that was on purpose! And then we started to realize our views were quite a bit different when it came to that. He's comes from a religious background and has his opinion and I have mine. Not the end of the world, but not great either. We get to laser tag and oh my gosh! I forgot how fun that was! I hadn't been since I was about 10 yrs old! We were helping each other out but I think he "accidentally" shot me more than anybody else did! Not cool! I eventually broke off on my own cause I was kind of annoyed by that lol. Laser tag ended and we decided to walk back. It was a decent walk. We got to go over the beautiful walking bridge downtown. But on our way back the talk got kind of intense. He had mentioned a time he got stabbed when walking there with his ex wife. So after that happened he went and took a high intensity combat class. He continued to tell me all of the special training he has on killing people to protect him and his family. Which I totally get. It was really intense to hear all of it though. He also mentioned that he's always aware of every threat around him. And I did notice him looking around intensely all the time. It actually made me sad for him. He had his sweatshirt bundled around his hand to protect him in case there was a threat. It was crazy! He also told me a story of accidentally shooting a pregnant woman over in Afghanistan. It didn't seem to phase him much. I mean, I'm sure he felt bad but it was just like any other story he could have told me. The continual mentioning of the ex wife too was maybe too much as well. He really wanted to find what he had with HER before she left with substance abuse. And felt like he should be able to find that again. Which I totally get. But at the same time they way he was describing it made him come off a tad desperate to find it and that was a turn off as well. We finally got back to the cars and he wanted to keep the night going. I told him it was his call since I had suggested everything on the date up to this point. It was now 9pm. He couldn't make a decision so I called it a night. Before we said goodbye I mentioned "do you have ANY questions for me? ANYTHING at all?! Maybe deal breakers or anything you just want to know about me?" He said, "do you do drugs or smoke? Nope- then you're good!" I was trying to give him a chance to redeem himself but it didn't matter. He didn't seem to care. He was just glad I was attractive to him. From a friendship level I could probably be friends. But I just wasn't interested romantically. The beginning of the night was great, but the great moments were when we weren't in conversation. So I guess that's telling. It's been nice to date after getting out of a relationship. It makes you feel confident and good. But I think I've had about all I want to have (for now). I'm seriously contemplating that when I turn 35 if I haven't met my other half by then (cause I'm definitely NOT settling) I may just have a baby or 2 on my own! I will obviously have to be financially ready. But it's not out of the question! :) Update: Joe asked me today how I was feeling after our date. This was my response: "I'm going to be honest. I had a lot of fun with you. I definitely felt chemistry at the beginning of the date. And I found you very attractive. But thinking back at some of the conversations we had, I felt that maybe we weren't compatible. I could probably go on a lot more dates with you and really enjoy myself, but I think in the end my gut is telling me that it's not with you. I know that you want to find the right woman to step into the family role with you so I don't want to lead you on in any way. I'm definitely open and would love to be friends if you wanted to, but no pressure there. Regardless, I did have a lovely time yesterday. So thank you very much. " His response was this, "Well I feel like you have poorly judged me. But none the less I respect your decision. " So I will leave it there. The ball is in his court to be friends. But I'm glad I was honest because I don't want to lead anyone on. That's never fun!

Last night in Monterrey Mexico! (How I got 2 handsome men to kiss me) ;)
As most- or all of you- know, I just recently had a breakup with my bf. When you just break up with someone most people take their distance and try to eliminate as much contact in order to eliminate the hurt. But in this case we not only work together but travel the world together in the same band. So here we were 2 weeks after breaking up boarding a flight to Mexico to not only play music but to send the message of anti-bullying. As hard as it was to see my ex every day, we managed to keep it mostly professional and avoid conversation as well as eye contact with each other. Overall the trip was a success! I got to travel to Mexico City, Cuernavaca, Acapulco, and Monterrey! Each city brought it's own uniqueness and wonderful groups of students and new fans/friends. The students were so smart and want to help us stop the bullying too. It was beautiful to see and to be a part of. As far as a personal level, it was a very tough trip to be a part of. I was feeling very hurt and bullied myself by some of the choices my ex's mutual friends with me were making. It's always tough when someone who you thought was a friend decides they want to choose sides instead of be friends with everyone and understand that sometimes things just don't work out. But alas, it's good to know who those people are so you can weed out the ones who aren't true friends. It was very hard to watch my ex stay out late every night partying and coming back the next days with stories of women and fun. It was hard to watch him flirt with other women too. I get it, it's a natural thing to do and I'm not mad about it. Regardless, it still hurts even if I pretend it doesn't. I guess though for me, it validates why we weren't right for each other in the first place. You can love someone so much with all of your heart, but still not be right for each other. And even though his future isn't with me, I wish him a happy and successful future and hope that some day we can look back and realize why we should still be friends. So this brings me to the photo of the two handsome men kissing my cheek. How did this happen??? Well it was our last day in Monterrey. We had to fly out the next day but we had the 2nd half of the day and the night to do what we wanted. Feeling relieved and free I could do what I want, I was determined to have an adventure. My original plan was to keep it simple. There was a bar that was about an hour walk from my hotel that had live music so I figured I would walk there, Listen to some music, make new friends and maybe call it an early night. But THOSE plans changed quickly when I got lost on the FIRST street I was trying to find. Luckily I didn't get too frustrated and decided to just keep walking and that maybe I would just find something along the way. And out pulled the city bus right next to me. Bus #38. I had to make a decision fast. Keep walking? Or hop on and see what happens? I OBVIOUSLY chose the ladder lol. :) maybe not the smartest decision. But it was all MY decision and it felt good to be in control. At this point it was still pretty early. Around 3pm. I remember being told not to take a cab from the street and not to stay downtown past midnight for safety precautions so I intended to follow that. Hopefully I would be able to ride the same bus number to get back! I sat in the very back in between two local guys. One guy tried to converse with me but the language barrier was too much. I remembered the Taco Bell commercial "yo quero Taco Bell!" (Sp?) so I asked in broken Spanish "I want beer and music" ' yo quero cervasa and el musica' but it didn't get me far. Ha ha. Nice try Dally! :-p So I watched us get further and further away from the hotel. Knowing now it was too late to go back. I was in this adventure whether I liked it or not. Being far enough away knowing I could no longer walk back I randomly got off the bus. Much of the streets all looked the same, like a big maze. But I found a beautiful park inside of the city and thought that might be a good landmark to remember and to check out. As I walked through the park I felt a serenity knowing I was living in the moment. I had no phone service. The only way I knew how to get back to my hotel was my room key. I had no address for it. No internet. And no way of speaking the language. I was on my own and it felt freeing. I decided to go into a few shops. Looked at local futball jerseys, looked at pretty dresses. Tried asking the same question about beer and music as I did on the bus but it seemed as though nobody knew of a place nearby. Finally amid the huge maze of the city I found a fancy hotel smack dab in the middle of it all. I figured somebody could probably speak English there and give me a direction to take my adventure. "Excuse me?" I asked the valet guy. "Abla Engles?" "I speak a little English." He said So I got directions to a bar called Nueva luna (or new moon in English). It was going to be a hike. About 7 long city blocks down until Hidalgo street and then about 4 city blocks left. At least it was back towards the direction of my hotel so I felt comfortable with that and proceeded to my route when out of nowhere a man approaches and says, "excuse me! Do you speak English?" Now this was a local man, so I wasn't expecting that. He was so excited to be speaking to me to practice his English because he planned to move to Holland for work in 2 weeks. We started chatting and walking in the same direction and it was really cool to be having a conversation with a local. Most people stared at us as we spoke to one another in English since it wasn't their native language. It was almost as if it were just us 2 and it felt kind of cool. Still trying to figure out if this guys was safe or not he caught on and offered to give me his ID to hold on to. Not that that would make him any safer cause if he was going to kill or kidnap me he could easily get it back, so I opted out of taking his license. We finally got to Hidalgo street and I was supposed to go left but he was going right to meet a friend. He asked if I wanted to join him. "Why not?!" So we went right. It was really really hot and I was sweating my balls off so he offered to buy me some water which was really nice. We walked and walked and walked to what seemed like forever. And then we finally got to his friends work. He worked for a car repair shop. As we were walking there though, we had to pass down a side street and there was a mysterious building that had security cameras all over it. My new friend, we'll call him Miguel for anonymity purposes, said that the building was for rich lawyers who represented some major drug lords. Say whaaaat??!! First off, how would he know this? And Second, I'm about to star in the new blockbuster "Taken 3!" Miguel was a really nice guy, but his friend, Who we'll call Jose was hot. He was unfortunately married but seemed really cool none the less. So me and Miguel sat outside his work and shot the breeze for a couple of hours while we waited for Jose to get off work. I was starting to feel more comfortable and confident at this point that if I were to be abducted it would have happened by now! So I hopped in the back seat of Jose's car and the three of us took off on an adventure! During the 2 hrs of conversation I had mentioned to Miguel how I'd just gotten out of this relationship and how tough it was to see my ex everyday on this trip stay out all night and talk about girls he had met. So somewhere along the way we all decided it would be a good idea to get some pictures with hunky men. Lol. Jose had a cousin who was a model and actor and really fit who we'll call Alejandro. We called up Alejandro and he was totally down to take some photos so off to his place we went! When I showed up I didn't realize he was going to look American. He was a Mexican white guy. Go figure. And yes, he was very hunky yet very approachable. I was thinking to myself "allllriiiight!" And I couldn't thank Miguel enough. He was my Angel! The 3 of us proceeded to a near by park and we took romantic photos. And during the photo sesh there was definitely some real chemistry going on. And it was Alejandro's idea to kiss my cheek. So he laid one on me and of course they couldn't get the picture to take for a minute so there he was resting his sexy lips on my cheek. I was not even mad! ;) Then without asking, his cousin Jose planted one on the other cheek. This was awesome! More fun than anything. To think I had just met this guy randomly on the street and now I was prancing around at a park taking pictures with sexy men. That's MY kind of adventure! Turns out it wasn't so randomly that I met the guy after all. Miguel admitted to me that he saw me on the street while on the city bus and actually went to seek me out and got off the bus! But it was still random to me! :) maybe a little creepy on his part, but hey, it worked out so I wasn't gonna judge! Alejandro had to leave to go to the gym (of course) so he could get in shape for a role he had just gotten in a movie. So yes, I met a Mexican movie star! Lol but Alejandro wanted to hang later. Said we could get dressed up and he'd wear a tux and we could either go out or chill at his fancy apartment. I was definitely excited to see him later. There was just something about him! :) So off the 3 of us went again. They drove me up to the top of the hill by the waterfall to overlook the city and see a nice view. It was hard to get a decent shot though cause we were driving . When we came back down the hill we stopped in to a vegan restaurant called Peace and Love (very fitting) and I got a salad and we all split desert. It was yummy! Now, we made plans to go out! Jose was going to drop me off at my hotel so I could freshen up and get ready. He was going to drop Miguel off to do the same at his place. And he was going to go pick up his wife who would also go to get ready. The plan was to meet in a couple of hours and we would meet up with Alejandro again (that was the part I was REALLY excited for). So now it's about 8:30pm and I'm back at my hotel. I put on this fancy dress I had bought yesterday at the mall which I didn't think I'd get a chance to wear on this trip, but I was pleasantly surprised I would! I was having so much fun! And I WASNT sad for the first time in a long time. I was living again and it felt good! I couldn't contain my excitement! I got my fancy dress on. Re-did my hair and makeup and felt empowered! That's when I took this shameless selfie! THIS was going to be a night for ME and nobody else. Sometimes it feels good to spoil yourself. I was supposed to be picked up around 10:30 in the lobby by my new friends to go out but at about 10pm I got a phone call in my room from Miguel. He asked, "hey if we go out with my friends tonight, are you going to leave when I'm ready to leave if I'm uncomfortable or are you going to stay and party with them? Because Alejandro likes you." I could just hear the sadness in his voice and it broke my heart. But at the same time it got me really excited that Alejandro felt that connection too and I really wanted to explore that! I didn't want to hurt Miguel's feelings because it was starting to become more obvious that he was feeling territorial of me even though I'd literally JUST met him that day! What the junk!? But at the same time I didn't want to lie to him either. So I told him that if I personally felt uncomfortable I would leave but if not, I would probably stay. But let's not focus on any of that and let's just all try to hang out tonight TOGETHER! And really, I meant that! But I got a message from him minutes later that the night was cancelled. And I just KNEW it had to be for personal reasons of HIS and not the other guys. What a buzzkill! I thought for sure I was going to get to know this sexy Alejandro I had met earlier but I had no way of contacting him or his friend Jose because I only had Miguel's contact at this point. What was I to do??? Determined to see Alejandro at some point in the night I had to think fast. Miguel still wanted to come by to hang out at my hotel so I said sure. But at this point, I'm thinking Miguel might think I want to hook up with him so I wanted to make sure I stayed at the hotel and stayed in the bar/lobby area (not my room). I figured when Jose dropped him off at my hotel I could ask him what really happened. I asked Fran (a band member) if she would be my wing man and distract Miguel while I asked Jose for the truth but when Miguel showed up he was solo! He had Jose drop him at the corner so I never had a chance! That dog! At this point I'm feeling pretty frustrated with Miguel. He's being very negative about his friends and his whole demeanor has changed into a super jealous bf which is exactly the opposite of what I needed! Finally I was able to speak to Jose on the phone through Miguel's phone while Fran kept him company and Jose said he would call his cousin Alejandro to see if he still wanted to hang with me. Miguel got upset and said, "just be honest with me! Do you want Alejandro to come over?! He'll just want to hang out alone." At this point I was so frustrated with Miguel I decided to just say what I wanted, but still trying to be as nice as possible. So I said, "yes, that would be nice if he came by." So Miguel got his panties in a bunch and said, "well I'm leaving. He'll be here shortly and will find you in the lobby." And I hugged him goodbye and said thank you for everything and it was really nice to meet him. But he was upset and left quickly. I felt bad for him, but it was his own fault for acting so territorial and if he didn't want me to meet his friends he probably shouldn't have introduced them to me. In the 2 hours we were chatting waiting for Jose to get off work he had asked if I was attracted to him and I was very honest so I don't understand why he was so upset. I never led him on in any way. But I had to just let it go and not worry about it anymore. I was now super excited to see Alejandro. Mission accomplished! It was now around 11pm or so and I was chilling in the hotel bar by myself waiting for Alejandro. The bar was pretty empty so I was going to just wait in the lobby but as I was walking out I saw these 3 guys that just had friendly faces and they were speaking English! Sweet! The 3 guys were there on business. All worked for the same company. 2 lived in New York and the other philly. The guy from Philly was the boss. All 3 guys attractive in their own unique way! So feeling ballsy I sat down and told them the whole story and how this hunky guy I didn't even know was about to meet me. Lol. They bought me my first drink of the night, now being almost midnight! I was really enjoying our conversations so I had kind of stopped caring if Alejandro showed up or not, cause I felt safe with these 3 guys for some reason. Guy number 1 we'll call James. He had a little cushion on him but was really outgoing and almost had a little silver in his hair which I found very sexy. He was confident. I liked that. Turns out it was his birthday (31st I believe) which was why they were all up so late cause they had a 7am meeting the next morning! Guy number 2 we'll call Harold. He was originally from Pakistan but grew up mostly in New York. We had an instant connection cause I was able to share my amazing stories of Pakistan with him which was cool. He was 24 but had a maturity to him. He was super sweet and really cute. Guy number 3 we'll call Graham. He was also 31. The boss. The one from Philly. He seemed cool and collected the whole time. Trying not to show his cards. But there was something sexy about that! From the left, Harold James and Graham Okay! 3 cool dudes, over one Alejandro! I'll take the cards that were dealt! :) We ended up chatting and teasing each other and just having a really good time shooting the breeze. My night couldn't be going any better. The hotel bar was closed at this point but the awesome guy that worked there (can't remember his name for the life of me) let us stay and hooked us up with one last drink! So cool! I'm a light weight so a drink and a half was plenty for me to be feeling buzzed. Finally at about 2 or 3am we decide to move the party to Graham's room. They bust out more booze (which I only had a couple little sips of) and the country music! We had a mini dance party. James was so drunk that he passed out on the bed with my purse around his waste lol. James left the room for the night. And then a minute later he knocked on the door and was back! Ha ha. Then somebody had the brilliant idea to go swimming. It's now about 4am and we all go and get our suits on and hop in the warm pool. All the lights are off and we're swimming around like a bunch of kids having so much fun! We probably stayed in the pool until about 5am and it was the best night ever! I had to be up the next day by 7am to pack and leave but I was on it! Slept most of the day on the plane and got to look at my hat I had them sign and draw on that night to keep the memories. We finally made it to the airport the next day and my ex and his best friend fell asleep in the airport somewhere and we couldn't find them so they missed the flight out of Mexico. They apparently made the next flight which was good, but it was nice cause I was able to be solo and spread out with the empty seats and make a bed on the plane. When I got home last night I saw a message on my fan page from Jose that I had missed. He asked what room I was in so Alejandro could come get me. Apparently he wasn't a no show. They tried to reach me but thought I was sleeping. Bummer. But at the same time my night probably couldn't have been any better! So as tough personally as this trip to Mexico was, I couldn't have had a better time to end it which made it all worth it! :) Thank you to all of my new friends around the world! Next up: tomorrow night I'm getting auctioned off for a date to raise money for Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition at a LIVE auction. Eeep! Watch out for my next blog to hear all about it! :)

Single and ready to ME-ngle
So, as most of you have guessed by my recent profile pic change and more active FB life I'm now currently single. I was in a relationship for the last 8-9 months with my very talented best friend who I got to travel the world with and play music. Seems like a fairy tale right?! It had the perfect recipe for success, and marriage, and happily ever after with babies. But, sometimes the universe has a way of magnetically pulling you in a different direction even if you don't want it to. And guess what, we always end out okay and usually even stronger than before. Every relationship is a way to learn something about yourself, and a lot of times it's things you DON'T like about yourself that come to surface. So here I am. Sad and heartbroken that what I once thought would be forever is now gone... But at the same time I feel free and more alive then I've been in a long time and ready to get back to ME (hence the ME-ngle pun in my title ;)) I'm ready to work on the negative things I learned in myself and also ready to push forward the things I love about myself that I may have lost along the way. All I can do right now is try to be the best version of myself and move forward with a positive outlook on why I have moved to a new season of my life. Change is good. It gives you a reason to grow. Don't get me wrong, I could definitely use some good girlfriend chats and confidence boosters and a little extra TLC from my friends. But I'm also ready to be brave and strong and see what's in store next for my life. So watch out world! Or I guess, "Mexico." We're headed there in a week and a half on tour! Xoxo Dally
