There's a recurring online tendency to aestheticize consensus itself. The imagined future village is full of emotionally compatible people who enjoy communal gardening, conflict resolution circles, acoustic folk music, mutual aid potlucks, and repairing bicycles together at sunset. Which is nice for the people who genuinely enjoy that lifestyle. But plenty of humans are solitary, prickly, obsessive, urban, nocturnal, sensory-seeking, technologically attached, contrarian, novelty-seeking, private, or just plain difficult. Those people do not evaporate after the revolution. They do not get Left Behind while you are Raptured into the Utopia. They become your neighbors.

#maybe i'm doing too much but imagine every horrifying moment someone inserting themselves #and keeps doing it #when you're trying to heal and the person who made you fear for your life isn't grasping what i never want to hear from you again #it just reminds me of all of the other harsh things that went on during that period #the only person i haven't forgiven is my ex #however i'd be letting myself down if i don't break the pattern #reenactment to experience myself viewing past behavior gave myself the ick #and that's a good thing for me but will apologize for it soon to the *used*#but i just can't be consumed from this distorted lens anymore #outside of *~this~* i never have ill will or intentions but i will hold up a mirror every now and then #to have moments whether incredibly beautiful or completely horrifying be inserted to #it doesn't feel good so i tried it on #just to feel it and i genuinely don't get how people operate this way
