“Most of my family lives in Tennessee, and they don’t visit too often. If I’m lucky, we’ll try to set up a big FaceTime, but getting all of them is almost impossible.” He chuckled, leaning back on the Adirondack chair. “Since I stopped drinking booze, I figured I needed to do something to supplement or else I’d lose my mind. I still smoke weed occasionally though.” He added, raising eyebrows as he sipped on the beverage. “There’s plenty more, so have as much as you want.”
Upon the conversation drifting to his accident, he could tell it was a bit… uncomfortable. It was an odd situation to bring up, especially when they both had known each other back in New York, when things were so different. “I think Eden’s Town has places to have fun, but it can be a sleepy little place when it needs to be. Which is what I needed.” He pointed out. His grin grew at what Damian had said. “True, I might’ve been the reason you got invited to a few, but it was way more fun with you there.”
“You didn’t move back here because of family? Thought that was the main reason people did... not that I have anything against it, just hear people talk” Edens was home, the only one he had before had been a living hell. “Don’t say that to me, I’m a doctor, I’d legally have to tell you all the reasons that’s a shit idea” and something he was also avoiding. Not that he’d had such a problem with it as alcohol, but he wasn’t in the mood to find another replacement drug.
He shrugged, unsure really how much he believed that. “I don’t know. Seen enough horror films to know that no where that seems sleepy actually is. Far as I know, it’s mostly just old-fashioned parents disowning their kids... we should form a club for that one really” and normally the same reason as well, sad really. “I’m sure, drunk me made a lot of mistakes... and some very good choices as well”.
