About Me

Hello, I am repurposing this blog from a shell blog to my personal page.

My name is Damon and I am an alter in a polyfragmented DID system. I am the current host as of a week ago but I formed years ago.

I am a fictive of Light Yagami from Death Note but very different and more normal, other than jokes about source.

I am getting acclimated to being host.

I am married to our partner system, and spend most of my time with their L fictive.

We are trying to be accepting of the fact we have DID so to be more open I am starting this blog.

hey so genuine question is lawlight (light yagami x L from death note) a proship or not?? I've seen people say it is and then others say it isn't and honestly i wanna know what i'm getting into before shipping them

I mean this in the nicest way possible but I know it's going to come off as harsh.

You, as someone consuming a piece of media, should analyze the text and the characters' relationship to each other and for yourself, decide if you are comfortable shipping them, or if you even want to.

You are doing yourself a disservice by blindly asking others if something is 'good' or 'bad' before engaging with a ship/piece of media.

Please don't frame your morality and ethics on what other people tell you is wrong, they could be lying or misguided. It's very important to engage with something critically and be able to form your own opinions.

There is nothing illegal about lawlight (both are over 18 years old when they meet) but there is an age gap, and some people are uncomfortable with that despite them being on equal intelligence levels, and that's okay. As well they are both toxic characters that have animosity for eachother, also okay to be uncomfortable with. What's not okay is to start treating something as evil because you don't like it, it's okay to just not like something.

This is not aimed at op, but its something I wanted to add to this conversation.

Legal Ages in Japan. Like every other country, Japan has its own set of legal age laws and regulations to govern various life aspects.

Ways the law treated Light (and Misa!) differently from the rest of the characters before the time skip because they were under the age of 20:

Couldn't enter a contract without consent of a parent or guardian. This includes employment, renting an apartment, signing up for a credit card, etc.

Couldn't apply for their own passport.

Couldn't get married (without parental consent - with parental consent women can get married at 16 and men could get married at 18... for some reason...)

Couldn't vote.

Couldn't file a lawsuit!

Would be criminally prosecuted as juveniles - although this law gets screwy for anyone over 16 whose crime has resulted in casualties, which absolutely applies here. (I think it still means that their faces couldn't be broadcast as criminal offenders though, possibly. Not that it matters bc they're the ones killing people based on faces lol.)

Couldn't drink or smoke. I think we all knew this one because it hasn't changed.

Couldn't gamble.

Other age related laws:

Far as I can tell, the age to get a driver's license has been eighteeenisshhh for ages so if either of them wanted to drive they probably could.

We've all heard the "oh the age of consent in Japan is 13!" (which is not true anymore anyway but was true then) but also there are qualifiers to this. Such as this was the national minimum age of consent but a lot of prefectures would raise it higher, usually between 17 and 20. Also also regardless of the age of consent if someone having sex with a minor was more than 5 years older than said minor that was also considered statutory rape. Although aaallllll of this was screwy anyway because the courts didn't really seem to give a fuck about if it was rape or not if the accused rapist wasn't missing an eye from the struggle. Ok guys 😭
