one of the songs i connect most with is “control”
if you pick at the lines piece by piece and really dissect the lyrics it shows the broader picture.
it’s almost along the lines of fighting with your own mind/body (within reference to the lines “I’m bigger than my body..I’m meaner than my demons”)
But at the same time she is struggling with the way she acts towards others in ways she can’t help “and all the kids cried out “please stop, you’re scaring me”, I can’t help this awful energy”
she is telling the story of her daily struggle..battling with herself.
“I paced around for hours, I’m empty I jumped at the slightest of sounds. and I couldn’t stand the person inside me.”
She is telling a story- a hard, grueling story.
In the song, she is overcoming all the shit that may be going on inside her and i thing that’s really fucking beautiful.
For anyone who has ever wondered ‘Hey. why ARE Nicholas Sparks books so white and heteronormative?’ here is the sadly unsurprising answer ._.
Nicholas Sparks, on his own blog, in his own words, states that he restrained his autistic son for SIX HOURS, because his son would not say ‘apple.’ Look at this shit: http://nicholassparks.com/stories/the-rescue/
“The next day, I bought a small table and chair (the chair had a seatbelt) and I strapped my son into the chair. I opened a picture book, held out a small piece of candy, and pointed to the first word and image. ‘Apple,’ I said. ‘Apple. Apple. Apple. Apple. Apple…’ After two minutes of that Ryan was bored. After five minutes, he’d started to cry. And I said, ‘Apple. Apple. Apple…’ After eight minutes, he was mad.At ten minutes, he was screaming in fury, a temper tantrum times ten. And I said, ‘Apple. Apple… ‘ He screamed and screamed and screamed. After two hours of endless screams, for a little piece of candy, my son would say ‘aaaa.’ After four hours of that, my son would say, ‘Ap.’ After six hours, my son said, ‘Apo.’ It was one of the greatest moments of my life. It was the first time in a year that I knew my son could learn. Such a small thing, but until that point, neither my wife nor I knew whether he was capable of that. And then, for the first time in what seemed like forever, there was a light at the end of the tunnel. A tiny light, but a light nonetheless.”
Nicholas Sparks is a child abuser. There is no other way to put it. Nicoholas Sparks abused the hell out of his son in a bullshit attempt to “cure” him.

Been having a break from most of my social media. Snapchat, only been replying to people personally. Tumblr, rarely used. I miss you Facebook, only using for messenger. Yet, i feel pretty good.
“I believe there are many many ones, like really really great fits for a person. And when you meet one you’re like aw fuck, this is awesome.”
