As for fic recommendations, I'll admit I haven't gone out of my way to read that many, so there are some gems in the fandom that I might have skipped over! But from the fics that I have read, I've enjoyed the following writers and their fics!

@mci-writing — I genuinely adore her characterisation of Leo in both her drabbles and her multichapter fics, Wait When Did He Get Hot and Remember The Farm! She captures his personality very faithfully and handles conflict and relationship dynamics with a lot of nuance, giving it that realism that I feel goes very underappreciated in the reader-insert scene.

@dancingdonatello — Another writer whose fics are such a treat to read! They balance silliness and emotion perfectly without compromising characterisation, and their fic ideas are very creative and unique. I'd recommend checking out their Tumblr for drabbles and AO3 for their longer fics.

@haskaphaze — Erin's works Depressive Episode and What He Values In a Partner are absolute bangers! Depressive Episode is such a sweet, comforting fic to read, and I really enjoy her characterisation of Leo. I can so see how much she understands his character through his character voice, and her headcanons of him.

I'd recommend @ray-jaykub if you are into the bayverse scene. Even though I don't actively read fics from that particular iteration, her works are a fun read, and I can tell how much thought she puts into their characterisation! @stellaspectral also has many lovely fics for all sorts of iterations, especially for 2003 that I feel like isn't appreciated enough in the reader-insert scene!

I love your writing. The attention to detail is incredible; your protagonists have distinct personalities, and they always intertwine beautifully with the personalities of their respective romantic partners. I also love when other characters from the TMNT universe appear who aren't romantic partners, because you make them all so faithful to the original or so well-written with special interactions.
