Mason took a seat at the very front of row of seats. He smiled, like he was pleased with himself for accomplishing something. I.e. scaring Cameron. “Alright. You should tell me your name before you go, that way I know what to call you next time.”

“I’m Cameron.” he replied, not stopping as he walked out of the auditorium. He didn;t see the other following him and he didn’t care if he did or not. Cameron just made his way out and to his car.

“Hi.” HIs voice was calm and smooth. “Did I scare you?” He asked, taking a few steps forward. His movements were slow, like he was lazily making his way to the other. “No, don’t mind me.”

“Yeah, you did but its fine, just thought I was alone in here.” he responded, grabbing his bag. “Its fine, I’ll go.” Jumping from the stage, he walked down the other side of seats towards the door in the back.

The junior was just aimlessly making his way around the school. As he usually did when he had no where else to go, but couldn’t leave campus. Mason continued staring as their eyes met, an almost glare. 

Cameron blushed a bit deeper and didn’t move from where he was. He didn’t know how to react to someone watching him when he didn’t know they were there. “Umm hi.” He whispered to them. “Do you need the stage?”

“Oh hey Charlie!” Aurora smiled at the boy as she noticed him waving at her. “I didn’t even notice you here till now, what are you up to?”

“Charlie? You mean Cameron...” Laughing gently. “yeah, sounds about right. Most people don’t. Practicing a hip hop routine, what about you?”

Cameron was in his own word as he tumbled across the mat, doing a small routine on the mat. It was a good place to practice, somewhere where falling wasn’t so bad as on the dance floor. Stopping, he smiled to see Aurora close by. He wondered if she knew about Charlie coming to his competition, wondered what she’d say if she knew.

The boy shrugged slightly, “mostly classic rock, but I guess I am not that picky.” Charlie only had a short playlist, consisting of a few select songs that he enjoyed listening to, if he managed to listen to all of them before he got to where he was going he would just turn on the radio. “Okay, don’t judge me, but what is contemporary? I have heard of ballet before.” The though of Cameron dancing ballet mesmerised him, he always found ballet to be such a graceful dancing style. 

“So you like the Journey and the eagles then?” Trying to get an idea of what he liked. Still walking with him, he felt his blush fade as the topic wasn’t fully on him, more about dancing. He could talk about dancing. “Its a dance that tells a story mostly. Its more fluid looking, I can’t explaining it well, but you’ll see....I umm....I’m glad you’re coming.”

Charlie nodded as he tried to take in everything that Cameron was saying. “Okay, I’ll pick you up and well have a road trip. I hope you like my music.” He stepped forward starting to walk towards the school exit, hoping that the other boy would follow. “Do you only dance with the team? Or do you have a solo?” As much as he knew he would enjoy watching him no matter what, he hoped he would be able to see him on stage, alone, able to show everyone what he was capable of. 

“What kind of music do you listen to?” Cameron asked, walking along with him and putting his headphones away thought he kept his hood on. It was a place to hide when Charlie made him blush and just generally, smiley. “No I dance one dance with the team then I have 2 solos this weekend. One is contemporary and the other is ballet.”

Charlie only smiled at the boy, slightly puzzled by what he meant. “Well I was looking for you.” He knew from the last time he had seen him dance he had wanted to go see him in his competition. “Really? That would be even better. Next weekend I am free so it works out perfect. Would I have to get there early if I wanted to give you a ride there?” He nudged the other boy slightly, “well of course I want to come. I told you in the auditorium that I would come see you dance sometime.”

Cameron nodded, he was looking for him and that was still such a shock to him. “Yeah, I mean we get free tickets and I really just go with my coach since my siblings have other things some times so I have extra tickets but I mean sure you want to...wait you want to give me a ride there? I mean I’d love that but I normally ride with the team but nevermind, Umm yeah, you can pick me up around 8 at the dance studio on 8th...” Blushing a new shade of red, he bit his lip. His heart was racing fast.

Charlie smiled at the boy in front of him, “well yeah. Why do you seem surprised?” His eyebrow cocked up as he questioned the boy. “I wanted to know when your next dance thing was, and how much I’d need for a ticket.” He blushed rubbing the back of his head and laughed a little, “and how to buy a ticket. I am kinda new at this.”

“because no one looks for me.” Cameron responded, thinking to himself. Especially the boy I’m crushing on. Smiling softly, he hid his blush a bit more. “oh umm, you don’t need to buy a ticket, I can get you in for free with my family. Its next weekend. Its my next qualifier for nationals. Its in Studio City...you really want to come?”

Charlie was sure he had seen Cameron around the halls not long ago, but now that he looked for him it seemed he had disappeared. He somehow always managed to be able to hide in a crowd, and the boy was starting to think he wouldn’t be able to find him. When he had lost hope he turned to head out walking right into him, “shit man.” He reached forward prepared to catch him if he fell, Charlie was a big guy and knew from experience that bumping into people usually didn’t go well. “I was actually looking for you.”

Cameron had his headphones as per normal for him. He wasn’t really watching where he was walking so it wasn’t surprising when he ran into someone else. His hood was up as well, glasses slipping up on his nose as he looked up to see whom it was. Charlie. It was Charlie. His heart couldn’t beat any faster. “you were looking for me?” Pulling his headphones out of his ears.

“It’s okay, I actually need to talk to one of my teachers about my grade.” She smiles as she walked, “I’m was born in South Korea but I was raised in Crenshaw. My mom owns a bread shop and makes the best food. this school is very nice better then my old one but we’re funnier.”

Cameron nodded, showing he was listening to her as she spoke. “I didnt know you were from Crenshaw. I grew up dancing, been doing it since I was 3. My parents are both in big business, well dad is a banker.”

Penelope looked at the boy, slowly walking towards the stage her camera in her hands. “If you want you can look. I can delete any of the ones you don’t like.” She smiled, “but you can’t really see your face much in them.” She had gotten a few of his feet and a few at a distance, and if you didn’t know who it was in the picture you wouldn’t really be able to recognise the face. 

“I trust you.” Cameron whispered to her, blushing still to think she had taken so many photos of him. “I’m Cameron, by the way.” he stated to her as he stood once more and swayed, still trying to keep his body moving.

“That understandable,” It was clear now because at first sisi thought he was stalking him or being weird out. “We could, what class you got? I was currently heading to the library for yearbook and stuff but I guess we can walk to class. How area you loving Brevbly so far? There a bunch of crazies.”

“Advance math, its okay, we don’t have to walk together if you don’t want to. Just offer.” he shrugged. “Well I’ve lived here my whole life, so its nice. The school is cool, just interesting see how everyone interacts. You?”

Penelope clapped as the boy ended his dance routine, “Flawless. I got some really great picture too thank you.” She smiled letting the camera fall around her neck, “that was amazing. Do you participate in competitions?”

“Thank you....did you take them of my face?” Blushing super heavily now. “Yes, I do. Thats my routine for the next one, actually. I’m hoping to take first and maybe get scholarship to this college for dance, also I’ll get nationally ranked too.”
