Alecto Carrow, twin sister of Amycus Carrow. Former Slytherin Princess. Currently betrothed to the blood traitor Sirius Black. "The earth breaks, it falls and save your beat I'd find myself swallowed, drowning in your heat If we're gonna die, bury us alive If they're searching for us they'll find us side by side"
Yes well, you aren't exactly the type to do such devious acts. Quite a shame really, you should know that if you want to become Minister or whatnot, you're going to have to get rid of some people permanently.
Considering most people in Wizarding England are outraged at them, I don’t think anybody would take much notice except to praise. Is everything alright?
Excellent so I'll just get rid of them all and then we can take over the Ministry and fix the mess they've gotten us into. Oh everything is perfectly fine, why wouldn't it be'?
General Notes: Evolved Friendship, recent events explored and discussed with the princesses on a trip to visit Bellatrix in Azkaban. Fun times are obviously ahead :)
Comments: Omg McQueen is perfect. I love this new Fall line. Definitely made for the Pureblood princesses. And sorry this is so late! <3
She was pacing, as she always did when she was anxious, around her bedroom as she considered changing again. It would only serve as a distraction as the black and white dress she had on was already good enough and fitting for the place they were going. The blonde had carefully picked an outfit that wouldn’t appear out of place to Bellatrix for her sister to wear, wanting to keep the illusion that things were as they always were for her older sister seemed like the best thing.
There was no time left to question how she looked when Alecto’s voice carried through her home. Part of her started to move quickly because she was eager to see the blonde, a small house proud part of her just wanted to make sure she didn’t leave soot all over the floor.
It was strange to think how much things had changed in the space of a couple of months. It was only a few weeks ago that Narcissa found it strange to enjoy an afternoon shopping with Alecto and now she found herself glad to be accompanying her to Azkaban. She was certain had her sister not been imprisoned the closeness wouldn’t have happened between them, it was obvious to Narcissa that she was latching onto the older woman in hopes of filling the void her older sisters had left. The blonde didn’t mind admitting that to herself, she was sure Alecto had figured that out already.
Her eyes caught sight of the woman in her fireplace as she rounded the corner, a grateful smile found its way across her face at Alecto’s presence. "You’re always just on time" she murmured happily, lateness was a pet peeve of Narcissa’s and getting annoyed was best left out of the days emotions. “…You didn’t have to come, you still don’t. I won’t mind if you change your mind now…we can have tea when I get back instead?” she offered, not wanting Alecto to think she wasn’t taking her feelings into account and just taking advantage of her.
Alecto Carrow:
The living room in which she was currently standing in had an oppressive air about it. Or at least that was how it felt to Alecto. It was not yet a place that she felt comfortable in even with her being a friend of Narcissa's. Perhaps it was the feeling that the house also belonged to the halfblood -- someone she had come to enjoy the presence of as much as she hated to admit it. Taking a deep breath in, Alecto slowly let any uncomfortable feelings leave her body as she knew that when they arrived at Azkaban, her body would tense up from the looming sense of danger. Smoothing out her hair and then her coat as a familiar blonde appeared behind a corner wall.
A smirk formed on her face as she heard the muttered comment from Narcissa and she replied with a shrug, "Never late. Never early." Letting her eyes roamed down the outfit, the blonde wore, Alecto nodded at the elegance as she continued to say, "That dress is excellent Cissa," She paused as she wondered if she should mention that it did not seem like a place to showcase such a wonderful outfit when she realized that like herself Narcissa was simply dressed to be seen. Perhaps it was their upbringing but any time that one was not in the comfort of their home, they were expected to be dressed as if they were going to see the Queen. Better to be prepared than unprepared like her mother always told her.
Sighing at the next part that slipped from Narcissa's mouth, Alecto put up her hand as she crossed over to the other blonde. Looking at her sternly, she said quietly, "Narcissa. This is my choice and I am going with you because it is what I would do for Amycus." A simple phrase without a lot of emotion but with meaning that she knew the blonde would understand. Months ago, there was absolutely no indication that the youngest Black would become someone that Alecto cared about but since the law and the war, well Alecto was thankful for her friendship. It had always been her and Amycus. She always thought that was enough for her but seemingly, she did need friendship from someone else ... someone that was not her brother. It shocked her but like the law, she was taking it in stride. Changing her tone, she tilted her head as she asked, "Now when are you expected at the dreadful place?"
Remembering how he had last treated the woman standing in front of him, James immediately felt torn. His first instinct, of course, was to kick her out, but his instincts hardly mattered when all he could see was his mum welcoming the witch with open arms. He had been told by parents to make an effort toward Alecto for Sirius’ sake. During their first meeting at the ball, he had blatantly ignored that reminder, but now that his parents were gone and Sirius was on the fast track to nowhere, it seemed only right that he listen.
"Alecto," he said again, nodding to the witch. "I apologize for the way I acted the last time we saw each other. I was in shock, and I wasn’t thinking straight …" These statements were all very true, but they also felt like excuses, so James simply sighed.
"I appreciate your coming," he said honestly. He wanted to say that considering the circumstances, she would have eventually been welcomed to Sunday dinner were his mother still alive. In fact, it was very easy to picture his mother scolding Sirius over the whole thing, and the thought almost made him smile, the corner of his mouth quirking up.
"I hope you’re well," he amended, because mentioning Sirius and dinner would be entirely inappropriate.
Blinking her eyes at the words coming from James, Alecto stared in disbelief that he was apologizing. The utter thought that James Potter would have given her an apology, much less after her own attitude and behaviour towards him. She was never one to be friendly or nice or kind and if she was quite honest, she instigated the defensive and aggressive behaviour from the Gryffindor. It had been a pastime during her time at Hogwarts and she continued to do it as a way of rebelling against the Ministry's decision to try to amend strained ties. But at the apology, Alecto could not help think that perhaps the Ministry's awful law was doing a bit of good. The thought brought a shiver down her spine as she tried to ignore it.
Shaking her head gently, she replied in a quiet tone, "I... I accept your apology ..." Pausing as she realized that she was about to do something uncharacteristically but something she thought was necessary during a time such as this. How many times had she begun to act civilly and even a little friendly towards people she still considered beneath her? Too many times since the bloody law. Continuing with her eyes cast at the wall behind James' head, she said, "I would like to apologize as well..." Stopping again, she took a deep breath in before saying, "I have no excuse but perhaps given all the circumstances, I think it would be best for us to attempt to be civil." Gripping her hand in a fist, she muttered dryly, "Imagine us. Civil." The idea was laughable.
Smoothing her hand down her hair, she shrugged lightly and said with a tense smile, "You do not have to lie Potter. I am the last person you would want at your parent's funeral. We are not friends but I think that gives us a chance to be honest with each other hmm?" She tilted her head as she quirked her lip upwards and replied to his implied question, "As well as one can be given the circumstances." She would not mention how she was struggling with the idea of being shipped to Azkaban since her fiance and her had made no progress but refrained from mentioning that. Instead she glanced around and asked in a lighter voice, "Do you have any alcohol around?" She stole a glance at him and stated bluntly yet in an almost teasing tone, "You look like you could use a bloody drink Potter." And she bloody well knew that she desperately needed a drink too
Actually no not yet. But I'm going to soon. OHH she is...*Raises and eyebrow*.......Well who wouldn't at the end of the us Carrows are the best.*Chuckles* but I still say anyone but her would be better*Laughs and fixes his hair*
Ah I see. Well she's rather ... interesting to say the least.... And of course, we are the best and that will never change. Though it is a pity that she was the witch matched with you, considering ... the type of family she has.... Well no, at the very least she is a pureblood. Imagine... a mudblood joining our family ...
The owl was bought for Alecto on her first year attending Hogwarts. The spotted owl was the only owl to stare unblinking at her with dark black eyes that seemed endless and she demanded that the owl be bought for her in that instance. Alecto took to the owl immediately and was one of the only creatures to receive any sort of love and she only showed open affection for the bird.
The choice to name the owl Eris stemmed from her desire to always cause chaos and her want for her owl to follow her example. The name fitted the bird perfectly as she would come to know as it had a pittance to cause trouble in it's own way.
Eris is a stubborn owl who refuses to be fed by anyone but Alecto. She is also a mischievous owl who will not eat anything but the food given by Alecto yet the owl will hunt for prey just to play with it before discarding it. Eris does not get along with any of the other owls in the Carrow household and prefers to sleep in Alecto's room in her large cage designed especially for her.
General Notes: Evolved Friendship, recent events explored and discussed with the princesses on a trip to visit Bellatrix in Azkaban. Fun times are obviously ahead :)
Comments: Absolutely perfect. :) And yes, patronus headcanon is good. Also I had to include Mother Carrow.
Narcissa was nervous. It was obvious from the way she stared at herself in the mirror all the way down to how she had to reapply her lipstick three times due to her shaky hands. It was understandable of course, considering what the day would bring for the blonde. Not only was she willingly going somewhere so many wished to never see the inside of, but she would be going with the knowledge of what had been happening in the last couple of months.
She wasn’t sure what frightened her more; the Dementors or Bellatrix. The blonde loved her sister more than words could say, but with how her parents had reacted to the marriage-to-be she was left only imagining what her dear sister would do. Perhaps she would be forgiving, her time behind the bars may have brought her the patience to understand, or perhaps she would’ve been driven further into her (borderline) insane hatred for all things unpure. There was only one way to know, and remembering caused the young woman to shake with the scarlet lipstick once again.
The visit was planned, with weeks of preparation to make sure she was ready. Yes there were guards there to keep the creatures at bay from her, but Narcissa wanted to feel as safe as possible. Where most, like Lucius and Alecto, did not feel uncomfortable or fear the Dementors Narcissa was left feeling shaken at just the thought of them. Yet it was a fear she would deal with for the love of her sister, seeing Bellatrix meant more to her than anything else. With her parents disowning her, she was technically the only family she had left. Cementing that thought in her head had the former Slytherin considering not telling the dark haired convict of the worlds events… perhaps it would be best for all if Bellatrix wasn’t bothered with the news. She was under enough stress as it was.
A frustrated sigh left her as she rose, knowing Alecto would be arriving promptly to get their day and trip done with. Narcissa silently agreed with herself to run her options and worries by the older woman, there was no hesitation in her need to gain Alecto’s thoughts and approval on plans. Their friendship had grown rapidly over the past weeks and surprisingly she had found no ill ulterior motive to it, the advice and care from the other blonde had turned out to be as true and sincere as what she felt in return. The doubt that had first bloomed alongside the friendship was cast aside; there was no room for such feelings when she was agreeing to go alongside her to Azkaban. An offer she made unprompted when first hearing of her plans and one Narcissa was eternally grateful for.
Alecto Carrow:
Azkaban. The dreaded prison so many people in the Wizarding World feared, including herself. It was not so much the fear of the Dementors but rather the fear of being placed in solitary confinement. For a woman who did not fear death or even the Dark Lord himself, Alecto desperately feared the idea of solitary confinement -- the mere idea of being away from her brother broke her. She knew that she had been extremely lucky to be out of the prison since she refused to hide the fact that she was a pureblood supremacist or a loyal Death Eater when the war had been ongoing. She barely escaped Azkaban unlike Bellatrix who suffered the scorn of everyone for her role in the Dark Lord's inner circle. As she applied mascara with her wand, the blonde felt a thought creep into her mind: Would Bella ... ridicule her for not confessing to being a Death Eater? Would she think she wasn't loyal to the Dark Lord's cause because she feared being locked up in Azkaban? Her hand shook unsteadily and a dark line formed on her face. Scowling at the image in the mirror, Alecto swore before vanishing the line away and focused on finishing up with her makeup. She refused to be late and she always ensured that she had plenty of time to get to her destination.
Pushing the thought away, Alecto took a deep breath in as she surveyed her outfit. Black trousers adorned her legs, which were paired up with designer black boots that fit snugly against her thigh. A dark red blouse that was also form fitted to her figure and a pea coat lay hanging on the coat hanger in her room. She looked presentable and confident enough that anything potentially threatening and hurtful that Bellatrix would mutter would not affect her. She would not let Bella say anything to her that would make her doubt her choices. She did not regret lying to the Ministry about her involvement in the war and nothing could change that especially not Bellatrix Black. As she pinned her hair into a neat twist, Alecto wondered why she was willing going to Azkaban with her blonde friend ... had she really become someone she truly cared about? It was new to her, what with the only person who she had ever cared for being Amycus, but she did not dislike it. It was nice to be able to have a friend in the other pureblood blonde, especially since their social circle was far and few between at the moment.
Checking her watch, Alecto noticed that she was due to be at Narcissa's at any moment. Slipping on her pea coat, she marched out of her room and down the stairs, stalking through the empty halls. Her heels clicked against the marble floor but became silent as she entered the sitting room. Her mother sat drinking her morning tea and she looked up, "Alecto." The icy greeting was normal and Alecto simply smiled thinly at the woman she was born from saying, "Mother." There were no niceties shared between the Carrow women and as she grabbed some floo powder in her glove covered palm, she tilted her head with a cruel smile, "I hear Father is bringing home that witch of his. Perhaps you should remain in your side of the Manor today Mother. You know how seeing her makes your constitution deteriorate." And without saying goodbye to the older witch, Alecto shouted out the name of Narcissa's residence as she threw the floo powder into the fireplace, disappearing in a puff of green smoke. Darkness enveloped her vision for a second before she landed in Narcissa's fireplace. Brushing off the residue ashes, the blonde glanced around and called out in a loud voice, "Cissa?"
Our characters meeting for the first time in an AU: In which Alecto and James are lawyers on opposing cases and meeting for the first time. Taken from the show Suits
It was not strange to be having a drink with a complete stranger. Well in any other circumstances it would have but this was a regular occurrence in the corporate world. As usual, she was on time and waiting for the lawyer representing the company her client was suing. It had been set up by her secretary so she had never spoken to the man before and they were supposed to be going over the finer details or what she preferred to think was bullying the other man into agree with her client's terms so that they would not have to go to court. But that was a bit of a mouthful. Taking a long drink of her martini, Alecto brushed her hair away from her face as she stared at the menu in front of her. She refused to look like a complete fool by staring longingly at the door. It was not as if she was here on a date or anything; this was purely business. Nothing pleasurable about it.
Pressing her lips together, she had half a mind to call her secretary and scream at her for being an incompetent fool and not ensuring that the other lawyer arrived on time. Just as she was about to stand up and leave with her dignity, a shadow loomed over the table. Lifting her eyes from the white cloth to stare at the man, her blue eyes glinting with anger. Gesturing for him to take a seat, she said coolly, "By all means, take a seat Mr. Potter." She would not mention his lateness but her demeanour spoke of her annoyance at him being late. Letting the silence envelope him, Alecto took her time evaluating him, the pressed suit that was just a slightly bit unpolished to look as if he had just come from a romp in the closet, the messy hair that she was sure was purposely gelled that way, the crooked smile on his face and the mischievous glint in his green eyes. With a simple look, Alecto knew that this man was someone who would not be easy to bully into agreeing and in that simple fact, the man had become a pain in her ass that she really did not need. She waved her hand towards the waitress, ordering another martini -- she had a feeling she would need it to get her through the next two hours -- before saying with a seemingly friendly smile, "Shall we get down to business then?"

Alecto has never spent all that much time thinking about James Potter. To her, he is a disgrace for first of all allying himself with the mudbloods and the subsequent Order of the Phoenix but also because of the company that he keeps. It disgusts her that a pureblood line could fall into such disgrace. She has always thought of him as some idiotic jokester who would never be able to take anything seriously.
But that all changed when the law passed. Of course, her brief interaction with him at the Ministry Ball was nothing new but when she witnessed his distraught face during Narcissa's house warming ... she found herself reevaluating the man in front of her. She had never met anyone who openly showed their emotions even if the news was as terrible as parent's dying. Being brought up in a society that barely showed emotion in front of others since it was considered as weakness... well Alecto was caught by James' show of grief. It made her realize that the man was not simply some name spoken among Death Eater circles during war but a person. She may not like him any more than she used to but she recognizes that the hate that she used to feel just for the sake of it is no longer there.
Well if you ask me I would inflict pain on both of them, but then again I wouldn’t want you to be thrown into Azkaban. So I would prefer you inflict pain on a house elf…… and I’m good how have you been lately my little sister?
If I were to go to Azkaban, what ever would you do without me Amy?
I am quite well I suppose I can be considering the circumstances. That being said, have you spoken to your match yet? Dorcas is rather open minded to marrying you now ... more than before. I am still unsure that she is the right material for a Carrow.
Remus Lupin confuses Alecto. She finds herself torn between hating him (purely because of what people have told her, what he stands for and his blood status) and letting herself like him. Despite her attempts to guard herself off from him, he has found a way to get underneath her skin and see parts of herself that she barely shares with even her twin. Alecto wants to dislike him for his inability to run away from her snarky comments but she finds that she has taken a bit of a liking to him instead. Somewhere throughout their brief interactions at the ball and then at Narcissa's house warming party, he had gotten her to warm up to him. She'll never admit it but she enjoys their conversations and how he does not let her harsh words chase him away like everyone else.
But deep down, a part of her remembers the halfblood with dark eyes and she knows that she cannot allow anyone else in because if there is one thing Alecto is good at it is learning from her mistakes. She'll keep Remus at an arm length's distance since she seems unwilling to completely cut him off and treat him with the same disdain that she treats everyone else.
