while pride and prejudice (2005) was absolutely spectacular and one of my favorite adaptions of the book,,,,there was one scene from the novel that i really wish would have been put into the movie because it was absolutely spectacular and its the scene where mr bennet basically gets a letter from mr nosy af collins about the rumor that darcy had proposed to elizabeth,,,,,so mr bennet brings elizabeth into his office and shows her the letter and is literally cracking himself up saying “lizzie can you BELIEVE people actually think that darcy of all people would propose to you??? they actually believe that the man that you completely despise would have romantic feelings for you??” and meanwhile elizabeth is going along with it and laughing with him like “oh yeah papa thats ridiculous!!” but inside her head she’s basically just like fuck fuck fuck fuck and tbh that would have been the absolute peak of comedy right there
