Beaten. Cut. Bleeding. Exhausted. Sweat and tears and blood and Blight are all over him.

But does that look like a man saying no? Absolutely not. Look at those eyes. They’re pleading. Maybe with her not to go, because how can he love her and lead her into this hell without resistance… but also they’re screaming “Please don’t leave me. I left you and it was the absolute stupidest thing. I was able to excuse away all the other things I did but the one that haunts me so horribly that I haunted your dreams because I couldn’t bear to be entirely sundered from you, leaving you was the worst. The hardest. The thing I nearly didn’t do. You should leave me. You should. But please don’t.”
