Achilles & Patroclus
@overyourhubris
As many times as Ikaros has said that he’d never let this happen again, he really is good at lying to himself.
He is laying on the floor, giggling like a fool. Achilles is nearby…he thinks…and there are empty beer cans littering the floor of his apartment. Didn’t he just say a few days ago that he wouldn’t let this happen again? That he wouldn’t let himself be so vulnerable around Achilles anymore?
Well, old habits die hard, he supposes. “’Chilles, ‘Chilles, hey–” He sits up a little, hair mussed up from lying in the floor. “Hey..c’mere.” Ikaros grins, scoots closer. “You’re cute, you know that? I could just….I could just eat you right up, mhm.”
He came here to apologize with sincerity. You cannot fault him for that.
The day started innocent enough, with a visit to his mother on the beach and the tide grasping his ankles. When they did not pull him under, Achilles ran his usual route, came home and freshened up, and still his mind wandered to Ikaros. Maybe he was right; Patroklos is dead again. It has been months. Achilles thought giving him some extra time would be beneficial, and to some extent it was, but he could not bring himself to stay away for good. And now it is 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and they have been drinking since eleven, and he is laying on the floor with his head buzzing and the room spinning and things just don't make sense except for his laughter.
Achilles is smiling, laughing, shirt riding up his chest. "I am not saying no," he says in Greek, that mischievous smile creeping on his cheek. "Eat me all up for dessert, darling. I am yours." Achilles pushes back the hair from Ikaros' sweet eyes, twinkling in the light that stretches from the break in the curtains. He hums with contentment, then presses his lips to Ikaros’ mouth.

seven deadly sins: pride
pride is considered, on almost every list, the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins: the perversion of the faculties that make humans more like god—dignity and holiness. it is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. also known as hubris, or futility, it is identified as dangerously corrupt selfishness, the putting of one’s own desires, urges, wants, and whims before the welfare of other people.
in even more destructive cases, it is irrationally believing that one is essentially and necessarily better, superior, or more important than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and excessive admiration of the personal image or self.

Oh they were coming out of the woodwork now. It seemed the old man had set something in motion and Loki, well, Mr. World wanted to play too. They came from all walks of life it seemed. All different pantheons. He held his hand up silencing Techno before he smirked.
“How’s the ankle?”
Achilles closes his eyes. Oh, he hates this part. The moment where the divine recognizes you for what you were, mangled and wild, blood dripping down your jaws with which you tore men apart with your teeth. Times change. Even the gods should know that.
"It was the heel," he remarks without looking at him. He doesn't know why he bothers. It was all a game to them, in the end. Achilles gestures vaguely. "I am walking now, clearly healed. What do you want, godhead?"

some fresh, hot tea: oc blogs shouldn’t have to jump through fifty hoops / have perfect aesthetics and formatted posts / long responses otherwise they’re not ‘ quality ‘ / impeccable tags / constantly worry about being forgotten and overlooked / beg for each and every interaction just to get the slightest attention on this site…
the legends forgot he was made of flesh and blood (x)
