Life can be really hard sometimes, especially when living with a mental illness such as depression. Being chronically sad can take a lot out of a person, and I think the hardest part is not really knowing why you’re sad. Sometimes there’s a reason, but sometimes you just feel worthless without any real explanation. Taylor has been by my side through every step of me battling my depression, without fail. Her music has stood by me and guided me through some of the roughest years of my life, and I have her to thank for being alive today. This tattoo means a lot to me, because this lyric means a lot to me. The very first time I heard these words, I was sitting in Taylors living room, watching her in awe as she sang along to the words with a smile on her face, and I knew I would never forget that moment of pure happiness. It’s a memory I will hold onto for the rest of my life, especially when things get rough. And things have been rough lately, I don’t know why, but they have been, so I figured I’d get this tattoo to help me through it.
