Dani is the cutest
Tell my muse one thing that you like about them!
Anon or not! Make them happy and embarrassed!
jack-katzâ:
The girlâs voice nearly made him jump out of his skin because he wasnât facing her when she spoke, but he tried to play it cool and greet her with a warm smile as he turned. Totally cool. âYeah, I heard thereâs even a bakery nearby thatâs good, too,â he quipped, realizing mid-sentence he had a bit of phlegm in his throat and quickly tried to clear it. He took a long step toward the door to the restaurant and pulled it open, swinging an arm in the direction of the host stand to try to motion for Dani to go before him. Immediately, he half-regretted the move. She was a young woman who owned her own business, maybe she frowned upon attempts at âchivalryâ, if that was even what heâd been attempting, and he shouldâve just strolled in before her. Or maybe that wouldâve looked incredibly crass and rude. Or maybe he just looked like too much of a jokester. He was a comedian, though. But should he act like one off-stage?
âUh, I didnât make a reservation,â he admitted, mostly just to distract himself. âI think they have a bar, though, if nothingâs free at any tables and youâre cool with eating there. Or we can wait for a table. It doesnât matter. To me.â
âSorry I didnât mean to startle you darlinââ She laughed softly and gave an apologetic smile as she came to a stop just in front of him. âReally? Maybe we should check it out, I have a little bit of a sweet toothâ She joked softly as she watched him turn to the door while clearing his throat a little, raising a brow at him.
âThank youâ She smiled up at him as he motioned for her to walk in before him, brushing a hand over his arm as she passed and walked up to the hostess stand. âIâm fine with whatever, Iâm not too picky.â She shook her head. âWe can sit at the bar if the wait is too long, it doesnât matter to me eitherâ She looked over as a host walked up to the stand and greeted them.
Early Morning Confrontations || ft. Damon, Dani & Lara
damon-rutherfordâ:
drrutherford·:
Did he want the girl to stay and third-wheel on a familial conversation? No.
Did he feel guilty seeing her bee-lining towards the door, knowing full well she mightâve stayed a little longer had he not barged in? Absolutely.Â
And the guilt was enough to voice itself as he leaned a palm gently against the door, hoping to give her pause. âStay for breakfast, you wonât be interrupting, I promise.â It was a lie, but a white-lie, he told himself as he looked at her. âMiss?âŠâ Gideon trailed off, hoping sheâd offer her name, and resisting the temptation to look over at Damon expectantly. If his brotherâs track-record was anything to go by, it was likely enough heâd forgotten it already.Â
âDo you got any food in this place?â He asked half a beat later when the girl was on the phone, dropping his hand from the door and stalking back towards the kitchen. âIâve already texted Lara to come over,â He muttered to his brother on his way to the fridge, keeping his voice low enough so as not to be overheard but the girl. He hoped Lara would run just late enough for Damonâs one-night stand to make a graceful exit, least they add a fourth member to their already awkward, mismatched morning. âI can tell her to wait in the car if your girlâs not gone by then. Sheâll rip our heads off maybe, but itâll save us all any more embarrassment.â Gideon added quietly. His tone was gentler now; grudgingly appeased by Damonâs unspoken admission that he had a right to worry - and also by the knowledge that the St. Clair woman wasnât a serious pursuit for his brother - although that remained to be seen.
The fact that after drinking unorthodox amounts of alcohol he still wasnât feeling hungover was simply unfair.Â
âDani,â Damon exclaimed, perhaps making it a bit too obvious that even he was surprised he remembered the name. ââŠand Dani, meet Gideon, my brother, who isnât quite familiar with the concept of privacy,â he added, with a fake smile and dead eyes. Daniâs Delights. The name of her bakery stuck in his mind, the real reason why he remembered the girlâs name, he realized.Â
âCancel the cab,â Damon handed Dani a mug full of hot, dark liquid and pressed a speed dial on his phone, âhave a coffee, and then my driver will take you home.â Always a gentleman, right? Well, being generous wasnât the entire reason why Damon offered his driver. He didnât want to subject the poor girl to his sisterâs too-subtle-and-vicious-for-a-stranger-to-pick-up-on brand of sarcasm.Â
âI can whip up some scrambled eggs, mushrooms and beans, if you like?â Damon suggested, peering into his refrigerator. God, it had been ages since he prepared breakfast himself, or used his kitchen for anything else except occasional coffee and tea. Even though his head wasnât throbbing, and heart wasnât pounding, Damon felt a sudden need for fresh air. He opened the window to let in some crisp February air and blinding sunshine.
Dani had opened her mouth to introduce herself when she heard Damon say her name quickly. The exclamation made her jump a little, sounding more like he was realizing it rather than introducing them. âPleased to meet youâ She said softly, offering a small polite smile at the man she now knew was named Gideon.Â
She had no time to argue Damon telling her to cancel the cab before a cup of coffee was placed in her hands, the scent of it already helping to sooth the headache she had lingering. âOkay...thank youâ She took a sip of the coffee, embracing the burning on her tongue as she swallowed it and looked around the kitchen. It was impressive for someone who didnât seem to use it much; she could tell by looking at the surfaces which were all in pristine condition, no scratch marks or chips from using appliances or knives.Â
âIâm okay with just coffee, you donât have to go to any trouble.â She shook her head, looking down at the mug for a moment, feeling terribly out of place and suddenly very grateful for the chill of the wind when he opened the window.Â
andrew-eberhartâ:
FLASHBACK
âDrop it,â Andrew advised, his own gun steady in his hands. The man across from him, a member of the russian terrorist organization heâd been sent to observe, shifted slightly, widening his stance, his knuckles white with the pressure he was exerting on the grip of his AK 74. The russianâs eyes darted back and forth, quickly, and the beads of sweat that glistened under the LED lights above them gathered upon his large forehead. Andrew adjusted his stance as well, his left foot moving slight forward and his right foot slightly back, and centered his Sigâs sights on the manâs head. The apricot, which would kill the man before he could move, rested in a portion of the manâs forehead. In a perfect world, this would be his target. The brain would literally shut down- there wasnât even time for the man to scream, or pull his trigger, heâd just collapse like a marionette whose strings were cut. He counted down in his head until heâd pull the trigger if the man refused to comply with his orders. Three, he breathed, slowly bringing in a long breath for the shot.Â
Two. His finger took all the slack out of the trigger, squeezing it just a millimeter from the point where the firing pin would strike the cartridge. One. He slowly let his breath out, his left eye closing as he aimed- BBBBBVVVVVVVVRRRRRRTTTTTTTT.
Andrewâs head jerked up from the pillow, his eyes still closed, and he moaned audibly in irritation. BBBBBBVVVVVVVVRRRRRRTTTTTT came the buzz again, slightly muffled from across the room. He staggered to his feet, dressed in no more than his underwear, staggering towards the shelf where he left his phone every night. BBBBBBBBBBBVVVVVVVRRRRRRRTTTTTT came the annoying buzz again, from somewhere behind him. He groggily turned around, wrenching one of his eyes open in the low light to try to figure out where his phone had been left. His suit lay in a heap on the floor by the bed where heâd left it, and he stumbled over to it. BBBBBBBVVVVVVVVRRRRRRTTTTT. It grew louder as he approached. By the time heâd finally dug it out of his slacks pocket, the call had been forwarded to voicemail. His heart dropped when he saw who it was from. Why was she calling this time of night? He rubbed his eyes, trying to will himself to wake up enough. The screen seemed blurry as he tried to get them to focus, heavy as they were from sleep. After 45 seconds, it became available for listening. He instantly put the phone to his ear, standing nearly naked in the middle of his room in the dark. The hardwood floor beneath his feet was cold to the touch- he must have forgotten to turn the heater on when heâd arrived home two hours earlier. He could tell almost instantly that sheâd been drinking, not just by her slurred words but how she was breathing. He listened to it, his hand frozen mid-rub on his left eye.Â
Fifteen minutes laterâŠ
Andrew stood at the front door of Daniâs place, dressed in a T-shirt, pajama bottoms, and slippers. He was unshaven, his hair was messy, and he held a half-eaten carton of ice cream in his hand that heâd pulled from his freezer before heâd driven over. He knocked again, his arms tight to his body for warmth as he stood in the cold air, praying she hadnât passed out somewhere and that heâd have to sleep on her doorstep.
Dani was more than content with just staying on the floor of her living room for the rest of the night...morning..whatever time it was. She couldnât bring herself to make the effort to get up and go to her room to change into pajamas and crawl into bed. So for now the red dress would have to suffice as a nightgown, and her living room floor would serve as a bed.Â
Sheâd just begun to let herself doze off when she heard Chip stirring suddenly before he was on his feet and barking in the direction of her front door. Shushing him and waving a hand, she figured he heard the wind or something rattle the shutters, it had been a rather breezy evening after all. But as soon as she heard a knock she sat up a little straighter, or as straight up as she could sit in this condition. Chip had already made his way to sit at the front door, looking back at her expectantly as she struggled to get up off the floor, thankful sheâd taken her shoes off at least.Â
With the second knock she was already nearly to the door, leaning against it for a minute before fumbling with the lock and opening up. It took her a long second to process that yes, she was in fact looking at Andrew standing on her doorstep. âWhat are y--â She cut off as she pieced together what reasoning heâd have being here at this hour.  âOh fuck.....you listened to the messageâ She felt her cheeks burning a deep red as she backed into her house again, leaning against the door for support.Â
objectively speaking, which sexual encounter did Dani enjoy more? The one with Damon, or one with Jack?
Objectively speaking Damon because heâs more experienced
But she did enjoy it with Jack...she wouldnât have done it again if she hadnât
How is Dani going to explain things to Andrew?
Sheâs still trying to figure it out...thereâs the part of her thatâs saying âoh you donât owe him any explanationâ and then thereâs another part thatâs like âwell he doesnât care and doesnât want me anyway so why does it matter if he knowsâ
Itâs not something sheâll just bring up out of nowhere though. At least not at first until she can get a feel of how things are going since the chances are heâs just going to disappear again anyways.Â
Why doesn't Dani think much of herself?
She never really has. Mostly due to how she was treated in the foster care system and she was bullied a lot as a child and throughout school. After a while she just started to believe what was said because everyone would say terrible things and she never had many friends so it was ingrained in her. The only thing she truly holds pride in is her skills as a baker. But other than that sheâs nothing special in her mind.Â
How does Dani feel about herself after sleeping with Damon and Jack? Does she regret it?
Dani never really has thought much of herself, so she still isnât thinking well of herself after that.
She doesnât necessarily regret it so much as wish she had thought it out better. She barely knows Damon, at least she knows Jack a little bit more. Sheâs more upset with her impulsiveness on the situation. But sheâs very lonely in all senses of the word, so being with them made her feel wanted, even if it was only in the physical sense and only for a brief moment.Â
cassandra-actonâ:
There was a very real possibility that she had never been more hungover in her life.
After things deteriorated at Rendezvous, Cassie had decided to make a very real attempt at drinking her own bodyweight in gin just to let her mind rest. Blood orange and violet. All she wanted was to mask the anger, and the hurt, and the embarrassment before she did something stupider than trying to start an argument with the God damn owner of the place. Perhaps it hadnât been in the company she was expecting, but given how the girls had reacted in the wake of her altercation with Rachael, she was fucking glad.
Waking up at Lennyâsâsick to the stomach, and petrified to look at her phoneâwas an experience that had her wanting to bury her head in the pillow and never fucking leave. If it hadnât been for Adam coming to pick her up, perhaps she wouldâve tried. The fact that he seemed so positive despite the revelations about their personal life wasnât nearly as encouraging as it shouldâve been; especially when they had to head to her place to avoid a barrage of press that was apparently waiting outside of his. Brilliant.
It was him thatâd convinced her to accept Daniâs invitation to meet up. Cassie didnât want to see her; no matter how irrational the annoyance mightâve been. Not after last night, and certainly not when it felt like her head was about to split open from the stress of fucking existing in this ridiculous state. Cassie just wanted to curl up on the sofa with him for as long as his schedule would allow (you know, when she wasnât vomiting) but as always, he pushed her to be a better fucking person than she actually was. Shakily she found a seat in the cafĂ© and cursed him all the while. The smell of food was making her nauseous. The idea of having to actually speak to another human even more so.
âJust tea,â she greeted when the woman finally showed up, gesturing toward the hardly touched mug on the table. Cassie hadnât ordered food yet, but it had less to do with politeness and more to do with the fact she wasnât sure she could stomach it. âI didnât know how long youâd be, so I didnât order you anything.â It didnât take long for her to realise that this was a mistake. That she shouldâve stayed at home and fucking slept. Forcing the most convincing smile she could manage, she looked up at Dani as she took her seat. âFeeling okay?â
It was selfish, but Dani was glad that Cassie seemed to be in the same state as she was. It made her feel a little bit better that she wasnât the only one who had overdone it a little the night before.
âI didnât mean to take so long.â She frowned a little before ordering herself a cup of black coffee, needing the caffeine more than anything at this point. âIâm glad you came. Though Iâm sure Iâm one of the last people who youâd want to see.â She murmured softly as she wrapped her hands around the mug when it was placed in front of her. âIâm feeling...better than I deserve I guessâ She shrugged one shoulder before taking a small sip of the coffee, flinching at the bitterness before taking another sip.
âI donât remember all of what was said...or done...but I know I probably said things that might not have been nice, since I did things I know I shouldnât have.â She shook her head and glanced up at Cassie. âI just wanted to apologize for being awful.â She said softly.Â

@dani-mason
The morning was early and tiring and his body physically ached from the stress and activity, but it was all worth it. Everyday of waking up early, attending lesson after lesson, it had all been worth it. The hours spent on the phone with his brother to try to understand the inner workings of a writerâs mind were more than worth it just to have the chance to talk to his brother so much - and to add depth to a character that had already been played by others before him. Heâd had to force himself not to think of those people, to make the character all his own and someone he could absorb into his own skin onstage every night. To say it was all-consuming was a step too far, but to claim itâd consumed a lot, even most, of his time was accurate. The chance to be just Jack, not Jack Katz trying to prove he could be Jamie Wellerstein, seemed odd after the day heâd had, but he welcomed it.
The day had ended earlier than anticipated and his stomach welcomed that more than anything. The restaurant heâd chosen was the best one he could think of that wasnât too far from Daniâs bakery, but he had no idea where she actually lived and was worried now that it might be a bit of a trek for her. It wasnât necessarily a super nice place, but nice enough that he didnât feel like a cheapskate on a first date. Was this even a first date? Should he ask for clarification on that? Why would he even need to ask for clarification on it? Was it weird to ask?
In an unexpected turn of events in Jackâs mind, he was actually a few minutes early and just meandered back and forth slowly in front of the restaurant entrance while he waited.
It had been a long day, a long week really for Dani. The days leading up to her birthday and the next few after were always hard for her. They flooded her mind with the last happy memories she had of her parents before they were killed, memories that seemed to be fading every year more and more. She had long forgotten what their voices sounded like, and even with the few old pictures she had, she was forgetting their faces too. So in attempts to keep herself from thinking too hard about that, she threw herself into work like usual, not really drawing too much attention to her birthday aside from the cupcake her employees had made for her. But with it being a slow week at work she was finding it increasingly difficult to keep herself occupied.
She was pleasantly surprised to hear from Jack though, especially when he asked her to grab dinner with him. Of course she had starting analyzing why heâd be asking her, theyâd gone about most things ass backwards, but she did enjoy spending time with him. And it would definitely help to keep her distracted and her spirits up to be around him. When he told her the name of the place she knew exactly where it was, just down the street a few blocks from the bakery, and told him sheâd see him there.
After dealing with the teasing comments from the girls in the shop about her date ,which she denied, she made her way towards the restaurant, surprised to see Jack already there, pacing around outside. âHey you.â She called to get his attention, giving a small wave and smile as she approached. âGood choice, Iâve heard this place is goodâ

Jack: Awesome. I'll let you know on Saturday what time. Might be done with work stuff early.
Jack: Great. It'll be a surprise. For the both of us. I suck at planning things.
Dani: Sounds good to me! You know where to find me
Dani: Surprises can be fun
Text to: Dani đ°
Jack: Saturday? Later? Ish? Not too late if you've gotta be up early though.
Jack: What kind of food do you like?
Dani: I'm good for whatever time! I make my own schedule, perks of owning the place
Dani: I like everything...pizza, pasta, burgers, indian. I just like food
