My final year folio has slotted itself in way and now I must conquer this pile of 50 images and narrow it down to around 35. Decisions, decisions...and not only that but then choose a layout for each of them..ahh, stress.
A while ago I entered the sanpellegrino cafe society photography competition. On monday the awards night was held @ Fetch in the Docklands. I won the creativity award. My photo was aimed to represent a quirky side to cafe society amongst the staff members of my chosen cafe, St Edmonds.
Hickory HQ interior shoot. This place had an amazing interior design, based on a 'backyard theme', who wouldn't want to go to work in a place like this...
Some thumbnails of a photoshoot I did at Bacchus Marsh. Some are of the Science and Technology Centre and others are of the Bacchus Marsh Community Library. Lots of editing to do..fun times..

Fiona Apple Waltz Better Than Fine
On Monday I did a shoot at Caroline Springs Library and Sports Centre. I'm quite happy with some of the shots but I still got some editing to do. Here are some thumbnails in the meantime.
This semester I'm doing a subject called Alternative Processes. I'm really enjoying it so far. What I like most is all the experimentation we can do using different mediums. I am keen to start printing a variety of subjects using the different processes. Here are a few prints which I've done so far, there is still a way to go in terms of getting a good negative printed with the correct tones and then in the application of the emulsion and exposure times, but I guess that's the point of the experimentation!
A selection of photos from a shoot I did at Dandenong High School. In the process of editing them. I really need to get myself a tilt shift lens, why must you be so expensive! Thank you photoshop for your ability to fix my lens distortions amongst other things.
More photos from MOH. The Origin Building Rooftop.
My Final Shot for the San Pellegrino Photography Competition.
On Monday I did a shoot for the San Pellegrino Competition at St Edmonds Cafe. The shoot went reasonably well, although it was a bit difficult to control 7 people at once.... that is 7 semi nude people. Lucky I had Tarin assisting, she was a great help. Thanks Tarin! Needless to say there was a lot of butt action..but at the end I'm quite happy with my result. Here are some out takes from the shoot.
Here are some photos from Melbourne Open House. I've been meaning to go for some years now but something always comes up. The day was perfect for it, sunny and warm on a winters day. I was actually amazed at the amount of people that turn up to this event. My mistake was not getting up early enough to make the most of the day. But I still got to visit 3 places. Geyer studio, Origin Roof Garden and the Plaza Ballroom. This was also a good opportunity to play with my new camera. Some more photos will be up shortly.
As I was walking down Centre Place I decided I would stop and take some photos of the hussle and bussle which usually occurs down this laneway. I saw this guy sitting down having a break and so I thought this would make for a good contrast to all the movement. As I go to frame my shot I notice what he is drinking, its a san pellegrino fruit drink I couldn't help but laugh for two reasons; 1. Because I'm currently entering a competition by san pellegrino which is presented to all 3rd year photography students at RMIT, which has to include the product. 2. Because the other day I watched Morgan Spurlock's Doco "The Greatest Movie Ever Sold" at MIFF, which is all about product placement in movies. After the movie in a Q&A with Morgan he told us how we are now all going to go away and notice products everywhere, I believe he was right.
Ok so I'm on the rooftop of Geyer Studio on Collins and I look down and see that there is some sort of fashion shoot happening down Centre Place. Then later I walk downstairs and find out its a shoot with Danni Minogue for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Didn't really get to have a good look as the "crowd" was politely told to keep moving along without making a fuss.
