omg ty for asking!!!!£!#!2 idk if you're familiar w evangelion but I'll try my best to make this make sense if you're not😭 brace yourself it's about to be long
his name is Shinsuke Stone, he's a 16 year old Japanese American from California (his bio dad was Japanese and his mother's a white American). before moving to Japan to pilot the evangelion he was living with his uncle (who's another favourite oc of mine 😽).
personality wise Shinsuke is very kind and friendly. he's extremely popular even though he's a foreigner (like Asuka).
Shinsuke is the pilot of unit 03 (I picked an existing unit since there's no way in hell I would've managed to design a whole eva.. and it's an American eva so I thought it's fitting). YES, he's a replacement for Toji as a pilot, and he serves as a general replacement for Kaworu (I love the guy but Shinsuke plays his role and even more). he's very well trained and has been set to be a pilot since birth almost.
Shinsuke is meant to be viewed as the picture perfect person, both in and out of being a pilot. like I mentioned before he's friendly but on top of that he's obedient and an extreme people pleaser. he's also more mature than all the other pilots (in all aspects).
even though he appears flawless on the surface Shinsuke is deeply troubled. a little bit of backstory, his mother used to work at Nerv, she was an unstable woman who suffered from extreme loneliness. she got pregnant from a casual fling she had and decided to have the baby in hopes it'll cure her loneliness (him being born male also played a huge part in their dynamic but I won't go into detail). she loved him a lot but was very unfitting to be a mother. she was demanding, treating Shinsuke like her husband and expecting him to accommodate all her needs. this caused Shinsuke to grow into a people pleaser, he's very insecure and doesn't see himself as his own person, but more of a servant for other people (that's why he's so comfortable being used as a tool by nerv). none of the things about him are his, his personality and how he acts is just what the world wants him to be.
another big aspect about his character is that he serves as a relatable figure for the other pilots. on the surface he appears to be extremely unrelatable since he's all put together and also more mature than them (he's physically older and also personality wise), but his upbringing is similar to theirs. for example, both he and Asuka have 'terrible' mothers (I wouldn't consider his mother as terrible as Asuka's but objectively they're both terrible), Shinji and him both lack father figures throughout their childhood, and with Rei they both share this disconnection and vessel-like feeling (idk how to explain it 😓).
