Wednesday, Feb. 3 Starting strength - working sets Back squat 3x5 D: 290# R: 90# Bench press 3x5 D: 245# R: 80# Deadlift 1x5 D: 345# R: 175# Lucy wanted to spot Daniel with his benching.

5 rounds for reps: 1 minute deadlift (185# / 85#) 1 minute push-ups (R from knees) 1 minute strict K2E (R with kip) D: 267 R: 287 We took turns with each of the 5 rounds because Lucy needs supervision in the gym (go figure) so we each had 3 minute rests between each round. Lucy helped with the push-ups.

Starting Strength - working sets Back squats 3x5 D: 285# R: 110# (fail on 2nd set; have to reset again; I think I'm doing something wrong) Strict press 3x5 D: 140# R: 55# Power clean 5x3 D: 135# (he did snatch instead of PC; the weight was getting too high to drop- we need more bumper plates) R: 100#
Saturday, January 30 Warm up walk with Lucy and Elliot. Luckily it did the trick and Lucy passed out quickly so I could work out. Fran (almost) 21-15-9 Thruster (45#) Pull-ups R: 12:05 Ridiculously slow. Had to rest between every set. One day I will do this rx and unbroken.

Starting strength Working sets Back squats 3x5 R: 105# Bench 3x5 R: 75# Deadlift 1x5 R: 165# Slight interruption between bench and deadlift because Lucy woke up from her nap and needed some help falling back asleep, but lifting generally went ok.

I forgot to post 2 sessions of starting strength. Daniel did great but I had to reset my weights again because I was close to failing on the squat, bench and press.
Hiking in Anza Borrego. Lucy was a trooper!
Been doing starting strength for the past 3 weeks. So far so good. My working sets were 105# squat, 80# bench, 165# deadlift. Cash out strict pull ups. Still only up to 3.
