In Antarctica, there is an active volcano called Mount Erebus that releases tiny particles of real gold into the air. It does not shoot big shiny gold chunks like a cartoon treasure chest. Scientists reported that its volcanic gases can carry microscopic crystallized gold particles, with an estimated 80 grams of gold a day. These particles are so tiny and spread out that they have even been found up to 1,000 km away from the volcano.
China is really putting some data centers underwater. Instead of building every server room on land, engineers seal the servers inside strong metal cabins and place them on the seabed near the coast. The ocean water helps cool the machines naturally, so they need less power for air-conditioning. One Hainan system was placed about 35 meters underwater, and Shanghai has a newer wind-powered underwater project for AI and cloud computing.
One teaspoon of honey is the lifetime work of about 12 bees. That tiny spoonful comes from roughly 30,000 flower visits and about 750 miles of bee flight.
In parts of Africa, wild greater honeyguide birds really can help people find honey. The birds chatter, fly from tree to tree, and lead honey hunters toward hidden wild bee nests. People also use special local calls to ask for the birds’ help, like the Yao “brrr-hm” call in Mozambique. After humans open the nest and collect the honey, the honeyguides can eat the leftover beeswax and larvae. It is one of the rare cases where wild animals and humans work together without training.
hi everypony ..
i'm gonna be soo so honest i was extremely hesitant to post this and i'm not sure why.😭 i found a very old fan-comic i made for Handplates back in the sixth grade (so 2019 ish? just before the COVID pandemic), and i decided to redraw it. now, keep in mind, this comic had been made before watching beyond season two i believe? so there are likely inaccuracies. and full honesty i was a little too lazy to rewrite it, i decided to just make a DIRECT remake of the original.
BUUUUT here we are. the new and improved comic <3
the original (2019) and closeups of the remake are below the cut ^_^
Aww, Grillby's just concerned, Sans!
Researchers found that roundhead parrotfish can spend up to an hour making this cocoon before sleep. In one study, fish with intact cocoons had far fewer parasite bites than fish whose cocoons were removed. Scientists think the cocoon may block parasites physically, chemically, or by hiding the fish’s smell.
Airplane windows do not always line up with seats because the windows are built into the aircraft body, but the seats are arranged later by the airline. Airlines can choose different cabin layouts, seat spacing, business-class sections, extra-legroom rows, galleys, and lavatories. That means the same type of plane can have different numbers of seats depending on the airline.
You guys remember that artwork I did of the same thing but with Ventus and Sora?
Well...I did it like this again, but now adding Vanitas.
All the propaganda I received about Vani being a kind of older brother has dominated me.
And yes, I'm still influenced by the fic "The Three Brothers"
Hey Riku?
What do you have in your pocket?
Oh, it's just Sora.
Say hi Sora.
Clouds float because their water is not sitting in one giant bucket. It is spread out as billions of tiny water droplets or ice crystals. Each droplet is so small that air can hold it up for a long time, especially when gentle rising air pushes upward. Clouds can contain a lot of water, but that water spreads across a huge space. When the droplets join together and become heavy enough, they fall as rain.
Soriku for a @chainedmemory28 birthday!! 😋🎂
I want to scream talk about the first night again.
Another opinion that changed for me over the years - about this dialogue option. I didn't pick it on my first PT, and in all my time here only chose it, like, once just to see what they'd say. I've always been weary of it, thought it insensitive and selfish and just not fitting for my char.
However, much like with Fenris's part in Night Terrors, my view has changed.
When Hawke says this, he doesn't sound like anything I'd imagined. To me he seems weary and tense, possibly trying to move the conversation forward in a light-hearted manner without really pushing. Subtly poking for details to understand just how Fenris really feels and how he should act (Purple Hawke is not just funny, he's bloody witty). It sure helps that I have a better general understanding of my Hawke now.
But the point is that it sheds more light on Fenris's reaction and state of mind. DA2 fans have always had very different opinions on how the first night really went and many thought it was traumatic for Fenris, linking it to his past sexual abuse.
And I do not agree with that take.
In the beginning it was utterly confusing and I honestly couldn't decide what to make of it all.
When did the flashback hit? did Hawke not notice at all that Fenris was not okay? if it was sex that provoked it then how is Fenris able to have fun with Isabela with no trouble AT ALL? HOW could it be "better than anything I could have dreamed"?
Common take was that Fenris's feelings for Hawke made it different, but if so, could it be about a past love? (hated this one, too depressing)
I'd really like to believe that the conclusion I decided on for myself considers all those details.
That it wasn't really about sex or romance, but the feeling of (being grounded by a deep connection?) peace (and safety) that Fenris simply hadn't known in his current life - in slavery and on the run and wouldn't likely experience with Izzy (i love you, but come on), but had felt when he had his family with him, and Hawke made him remember what it's like.
Over the years.

why change fundamentals again?
It gets uglier and uglier each time

In Australia, a family found a real ocean time capsule on Wedge Island. The message in the bottle had been thrown from the German ship Paula in 1886 as part of an ocean-current experiment. It was found 131 years and 223 days later.
In Germany, it is illegal to kill any vertebrate animal without a valid reason, such as illness or posing a danger to humans. As a result, all animal shelters in the country operate as no-kill facilities.
