Anka Zhuravleva was born in Moscow, Russia, in 1980. She spent her earlier years working as a tattoo artist, among other jobs.

After several years of in Saint Petersburg, in 2006 she discovered an interest in photography. Her series Distorted Gravity is an experiment in levitation.

Zhuravleva is a member of the Russian Union of Art Photographers and her work has been exhibited locally.
