Pulling out the receipts here because I feel like I'm going crazy, like. I assume this was the piece the last anon was talking about so I went and colorpicked skin tones, and I'm like 99% sure it's just the palette? Anon I want to assume you're acting in good faith here but Imma step up to bat for Dan considering that this is the guy who's been careful about reflecting the individual pigments of Louis, Coach, and Rochelle. I won't pull out the receipts on old art but only because the archive is a click away.

Thank you!!! I compared exactly like this and i was trying to see what was wrong.. If you lower the contrast on rochelles model (imitating pastel lighting as the illustration) you can use as reference the colour of her shirt..

Regarding the same topic I wanted to also acknowledge my penutlimate ro drawing (with the whole gang) i hate the colours of and i can see how it can be considered whitewashed..coming back from a period where i didnt draw these people for a long while and just trying to do it from imagination because i felt like messing around...its deserving a redraw very soon..

Thank you so much ♥♥ About your concerns i think it's just a matter of palette/contrast most of the time . After seeing your comments i was a bit worried and went to compare and i can say real ro would be more olive than i've been drawing but i'v found out i'm going warmer colours lately either way with orangeish overlay on top or something. I'm usually concerned with skintone portrayal. I havent seen an issue with my art and if I accidentally go 1 pixel tone lighter than intended by colour tweaking it doesn't mean that I hate that group of people ,.. I hope you can understand..

I also think that if any art disappoints me, I would just scroll away because there are Worse racism-related problems going around in this world other than a guy drawing a character a particular way you dont agree with.. love peace love
