Isabel was a little out of her depth. The crowd grew wilder with each passing hour, forcing the woman to down shots in order to keep up. A few drinks had already spilled at her feet as people swayed or stumbled into her. With so many moving bodies, the heat had began to get to her and the slight breeze she received from the open door called to her. Stepping out with her drink in hand, she tapped her pockets for the joint she’d bought. It had been her plan b in fear that this party would be boring. Shockingly enough, while this night was many things, boring was not one of them. “Mind if I sit?” she asked the person who was already outside, pulling out her joint. “Want some? I don’t mind sharing.”
Dante had to get some fresh air, if not he would be too deep in the night to come out. Sure, the owner and partner of Providence’s most pristine law firm probably shouldn’t have been out in a drunk stupor. Dante didn’t care. His reputation spoke for himself; bit of a playboy but hella good at his job; and he didn’t want it any other way.
Taking in a deep breath, he watched as the fog spilled from his lips as he breathed out. Though he didn’t smoke, he sat where others did and flipped through his phone to decompress. When he heard a sweet voice directed at him, the man looked up. “No, no. There’s always a free space next to me,” he flirted with a wink. Seeing her pulling out the drug, Dante shook his head as he held up a hand. “No thank you, but go on with yo’ bad self.”
