Bathroom Tiles – Ideas for a small bathroom
When it comes to designing a small bathroom many of us get stuck with the thought of what can be done or achieved in such a small space ? The answer to this is quite simply a great deal.At Dantotsu we have a number of tiles that give an impression of clean and more importantly contemporary design. We believe the use of clean colours gives the illusion of a larger space, making the room feel bigger than what it actually is. In order to give this appearance we have selected colour that will suit a room and décor to anyones taste, our favourite is natural stone. Natural stone adds a clean sharp feel along with a very fresh look. The natural stone finish also adds luxury as this design can be seen in many hotels across the globe, it is also used in many spa to give a feel of relaxation and health. The continuous run of tiles in the bathroom also adds a spacious and airy feel making the bathroom seem bigger. It is always best to keep fixtures and fitting to a minimal to ensure space. A great trick is to add colour by adding warm coloured towels to rails also bath mats that are warm in colour or white if going for a darker tile effect. A great example of this is our Zenith Mocha 30cm X 60cm Wall & Floor Tile Mirrors are great as the reflection create an illusion of a bigger space as well, especially as tiled walls will look deeper in the reflection and contrast. Polished tile are amazing at bring this effect out in small areas as the shine as glow and warmth to small areas and at the same time giving of a large space appeal. How to clean and protect your floor tiles
Floor tiles can be protected in a number of way by using a few simple methods. We discussed this with a number of professional tillers who have always kept to the same theory and advised a number of very simple methods that prolongs their life span thus ensuring the maximum value for money for the consumer. Ceramica Sant Agostino At Dantotsu we pride ourselves on delivering a product that will give years and years of use along with a little help and care these tile should reward you years of use. Tiles are an amazing décor whether used at home or in a working environment they add a touch of class and contemporary feel. They can change a home from being ordinary to luxurious, hence why we see a lot of them in statelyhomes and high value buildings. A great example of this (see left) is ourCeramica Saint Agostino Jungle Lux Honey Wall & Floor Tile Like anything we all like to protect our investments ensuring years of use and quality appearance. Tillers often say that tiles should be kept clean and free of dust debris which can damage the tiles in the long run. A very effective way of cleaning is to use a light detergent such as a floor cleaner nothing too strong, even fairy liquid is fine and will do the trick. Mix this with warm water and gently mop the area rinsing frequently to clean any dirt and loose pieces of dust etc. For a superior clean the area should be moped twice and then left to dry, once dried a nice soft cloth should be used to buff the tiles very lightly this will remove any water stains and smears. The buffing is fantastic on polished tiles as the effect is amazing and really brings the shine out in them. It is also recommended that every so often with the aid of a soft toothbrush that the grooves of the tiles are gently brushed to remove stubborn dirt that wedges itself in between the grooves. This cause wear and tear to the grouted areas and also over time creates a dirty colour effect as dirt collects over the years. Derek James from AAMaintenace.co.uk stated "it may sound mundane and boring doing this but it will preserve the tiles and whiteness of the grouting, also when dirt collects it get dragged around and can scratch or damage the appearance.” Derek also explained that like anything if appearance is important to you and your business or home then its highly recommended that every 3 years or so if necessary to have the tiles regrouted. “It doesn’t take long and can be done easily and quickly in a day or so depending on the area the effect is bright white and clean and fresh looking." We also asked a number of tilers as enquiries every day consist of can I clean my tiles with a steamer? The answer to this is quite simply yes you can but ensure the heat is not too hot and its done slowly in order to remove dirt easily. All worth using the same method as when moping the floor to ensure a thorough clean. So there you have it from an expert on how to protect and look after your tiles check out some of our luxurious and exclusive floor tiles on special offer right here!

Victorian Tiles
The love of something Victorian always spells out something unique and original. The beauty of Victorian Tiles is the balance of colour they can add to your home; you can grace a hallway or pathway with them. With the number of properties in the UK dating from Victorian to Edwardian times it’s the perfect setting to add back some original features.
Encaustic and geometric tiles emerged from 1860. Their appearance and use was a feature of many Victorian villas along with public offices and churches. They became iconic to the world of fashion when they were used in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Eventually this paved the way for Victorian houses which can be seen from Dover to Aberdeen. Dantotsu offers many variations of these tiles including our classic Geometric tile
Their durability is what makes encaustic and geometrictiles perfect for everyday use withstanding over 100 years of use in the average family home. The collection we have put together at Dantotsu was carefully chosen to represent the Victorian era and our choice of colour add a mixture of contemporary feel which bring forth both a selection perfect for the modern and the vintage enthusiast.
When you take colours and combination the feel creates an aura of grace and adds more than just colour to a room. Victorian tiles brings warmth, feeling and character which nowadays with many people choosing modern and contemporary choices this leaves room for Victorian decor which adds elegance.
At Dantotsu we have combined a great selection of Victorian tiles for floor uses and wall uses which adds an exclusive feel when you want a room, kitchen or bathroom to stand out. It’s like adding a feature wall to your home it brings out a statement in you, showing others that you really thought about this project. Take a look at our beautiful World Parks Vondal Wall and Floor Tile, visitors will be admiring with envy.
The combinations of mosaic and colour adds a great affect to bring out a design in a very geometrical setting whether you combine with a pastel colour on the walls or ceiling, you are guranteed to give a dull area a face lift. We have supplied a number of commercial businesses that wanted to achieve a Mediterranean summer look and the Victorian tile completed such a striking affect even we were amazed. If this is the look you want to achieve, Dantotsu would recommend the Florintina Corner Floor Tile
