I think TASM 2 really portrays parasocial relationships well, the way Max Dillon acts like he knows Spiderman to the point where he's like "you baked me a cake for my birthday?" shows the mindset pretty well I think (as someone who used to be parasocial with a certain musician I don't really feel like naming back during the pandemic) really shows what it's like to be parasocial, and it's also part of why I headcanon Max Dillon from the TASM universe to have some sort of personality disorder (most likely BPD but I can understand why it'd also be seen as a different personality disorder)

The response to the Afroman situation is fucking wild to me. You have a black man getting a bullshit lawsuit brought against him by the cops - an oppressive system that has already gone after the black community for over a century - and then he wins. And then people dig up the fact he isn't left leaning, and instead MAGA, and all of a sudden this win is invalid. This is not a win for just Afroman, it's a win for the black community as a whole. And you would think that people would be celebrating the fact that the black community got this great win where the cops went after a man of color after terrorizing him and then lost that battle, but nah, he's right wing so this win for the black community as a whole is now invalid. If he was a white man than sure, I could see that being a valid point given he wouldn't be a minority and it'd only be a win for him, but invalidating this win for Afroman is invalidating the win for the black community as a whole. Also insane to me that he dressed in an American flag suit and people were like "yeahh he can't possibly be right wing."
