Friend insisted I need to watch a video on Sepulcher for some Anduin glaze and so I obliged and learned that the wow devs admitted that Anduin was designed to be a stand-alone end tier boss.

Much like his mother.

It makes complete sense considering how the story is laid out where we save Anduin, leave the raid, and do a bunch of bullshit before going back for the Jailer fight, but them scrapping his solo raid in favor of having him be a mid-tier boss ended up turning him into an invasive species. One of the hardest heroic bosses ever. Most nerfed raid boss period. Go white boy go.

I'm sitting here trying to contemplate where the Anduin solo raid would've gone, logistically speaking, and like man no wonder they had to plop him down there. If he's designed to be an end-tier raid boss he can't be guarding the front entrance because it's going to fuck everyone over, but the Jailer also wouldn't feasibly have Anduin anywhere else, and narratively speaking his fight has to occur before the Jailer's, which turns it into an awkward thing of leaving Sepulcher to go to Anduin's raid and beat him up and then go back to Sepulcher. But then are you just straight up locking the last wing of a raid behind this other raid? That gets into attunement territory...

Its so messy that yeah, putting Anduin there makes the most sense, even if the story becomes a bit clunky for it, but god. It's so funny. Congrats Anduin Wrynn for being the most fucked power-scaled character in WoW for one bajillion reasons. Thank god you're a pacifist.
