Threaten to steal something from my character.
See what happens.
Once upon a Swamp [Dar'Shan/Irinde]
He pulled his bow from his shoulder, and notched an arrow, as he descended the path into the cave. The air grew damp and warm, and he felt a bit relaxed by it. He shook that soon, realizing the task at hand.
The majority of the cave was dark and gloomy. Despite there being many sconces for torches, most of the torches were snuffed out.
As they rounded a bend, the first room of the cave came into sight, and he peered in, his eyesight keen. “There are three guarding this area. Two are up on that scaffold, the other is just ahead.”
He knew his eyesight was better than Irinde’s, so he decided he ought to make the best of it. “Irinde, perhaps the two of us should switch roles from earlier? This One will cover you, while you sneak up on the closer of the enemies? This one knows his bow well.”
The one below was hard at work shaping steel. A thrall. The other two sitting up top were vampires, Dar’Shan had figured, and he surpressed a hiss. One had taken to her roll on the floor to rest, while the other continued reading some book.
"You should be able to sneak up on him easily. There are none to catch you, none looking there. And Khajiit guards your back."
Irinde moved close to the cave walls, glancing down to watch her step. She had to make sure she stepped over the various fungi that lined the edge. While one hand was pressed against the wall to stabilize herself, the other holding her crossbow close. It wasn’t long until the narrow passageway opened into a small cavern.
Dar’Shan spoke softly, dictating what he saw. Though the light was certainly scarce, Irinde spotted the armor-clad Thrall easily enough. However, she then looked up, spotting the faint outline of another on the overlooking perch. The Altmer then turned to face him, listening to his suggestion.
"Good idea," she said with a single, affirmative nod. In this situation, she’d certainly be better suited using a more personal approach. A wry smirk twisted the corner of her lips as she holstered her weapon. In a single, silent movement, she pulled her daggers free from their sheaths and began to creep forward.
Hearing Dar’Shan’s words of encouragement only tugged at her smile. She glanced back for a moment, giving him a casual two-fingered salute, as if to wordlessly wish him good luck in his own task.
Skulking in the darkness, Irinde moved closer to her target. Her body moved along the wall, eyes keenly focused on the Thrall before her. Her quiet footsteps were easily masked by the sound of a working grindstone.
Crouched behind the oblivious Thrall, Irinde glanced over to where Dar’Shan had been. She gave him a nod, before returning her attention to the Thrall. It was but a moment later when she reached out. One hand covered his mouth and pulled him back, revealing his neck. With the other hand, a swift, horizontal swipe against his exposed weak-spot was all it took to ensure his silence.
Dar'Shan crept up, following her, and holding his bow. He admired how she equaled his silent, and he matched his own steps with hers.
"Well executed." he joked, admiring her skill. "This one has a plan for the next two. Have your crossbow ready, should it err." he whispered, slinging his bow and drawing a dagger.
He found a stone, and held it within his fingers, eyeing the vampire on the floor, asleep, behind the other. He threw it, as to hit her in the body, and wake her.
"What the..." she muttered, not too happy about being waked, and shutting her eyes again.
The other stood up, turning to her. "I didn't do anythi-..."
As the blade was pressed against his neck, and his vertebrae snapped, he fell silent. Dar'Shan made quick work of the other, slitting her throat before she could notice what had happened.
"How was that?" he replied, collecting dust from the bodies, for alchemy.
Dark Scars in Pain-Filled Minds
"This one… he is torn. He never really… wanted…" he gulped at his next words, hoping he would choose them wisely. He stayed silent for a few moments, piecing a sentence.
"Dar’Shan is not sure if joining the Brotherhood was the right choice for him. He is wondering if it would have been better if Astrid had killed him for disobedience, on that fateful day. He was coerced in. And now he feels… he feels that Zetara is following her path…"
He turned to walk back to his temporary room, his side and backs’ wounds still in mild pain, and his walk crooked as a result.
she watched him go, then she sighed, “Great… now i feel bad…” she sighed, “Dar’Shan! Wait!” she went after him and grabbed his hand with her own, “There’s a difference between abandoning and dismissal… if it is what you wish, then i will dismiss you… But be warned, if you are dismissed, then you will become a inhabitant of Skyrim that can be put a contract on…” she said softly, “But I only want the best for you…” she bit her lip, then she leaned up an kissed his cheek, “go and get some rest… clear your mind…” she then turned and went to eat alone
"This one... he thanks you... but he is not sure... he isn't sure what he should do." he moaned, not struggling against her grip on his hand. Her kiss felt warm, but the air about the situation felt chilly, and he was tense.
"Oh, Moons... why did it have to be like this..." he muttered, sitting down on his bed. He curled up, feeling a bit scared. He shut his eyes, and hoped she would keep him safe.
Seeing Red, and Black
Dar’Shan managed a pitiful, begging stare to the man, as Arzuug talked for him. He tried to speak, but ended up coughing. Some of the fur around his mouth was reddened, and his ears drooped.
The Nord’s brow rose. “Disturb? Y-Yer friend here is injured!” he responded. “You’re not a message boy; if you need to save a life then just do it!” He wasn’t the kind to look down on others, apparently. “I’ll help you two out.” He signaled his family to help him with the surprise guest.
"Come on, Khajiit. We’ll get ya’ some help." he reassured him, helping him toward the cabin. He pushed opened the door, and guided him in. He took some straw and made a temporary bed for the cat.
As Dar’Shan took his place at the bed, with aid, the farmer asked “Hey, what are you two called? I don’t want to keep yellin’ Cat and Orc at you. Feels rude.”
Finally, Dar’Shan spoke up, through his aching. He stared to the roof, almost expressionless. ”Va Jaji… Dar’Shan…” he uttered between coughs.
"What’d he say?" the Nord asked.
"Be I Dar’Shan." the khajiit corrected himself.
"Interesting name. Ain’t gonna ask what it means, looks like you’re hurting when you talk…" he replied. "I’m Korafh." He walked outside, to talk to his wife, and two sons.
~~~~~
"Do we have to let those ruffians stay? Can’t they see we’re barely getting along on our own!" a woman’s voice whined.
"Barely getting along? That one you call a ruffian? He is dying!” he firmly reasoned back, being careful not to yell. “We haven’t seen him commit any crime, and we can’t just blame him like that. He’s got nowhere else in five miles to go, save for a ruined fort or the bottom of a lake.” his voice now more solemn. He braced himself for the last bit.
"And he’s a Khajiit. They get death threats just for having fur, and you think I’ll just turn him away? What if he meets some cocky man on the road who thinks like you, and wants to rob him? Or kill him?" he said with a sorrow tone. "If we don’t save him, then nobody will. I won’t just let a soul, to our knowledge innocent or even benevolent, just pass away. And the woman? She cared enough about a friend to pull him all this way, on her shoulder, to keep him alive. A ruffian woulda’ took his coin purse and not spared the time to make his end quick.”
"Ugh, you’re so blind, Korafh."
"Yer kindness is appreciated," Arzuug said gruffly, though it was partly a lie. She didn’t like taking help off anybody, let alone a stranger. For all she knew he could be waiting till they let their guards down and then go to slit their throats. But after seeing the blood around Dar’Shan’s mouth, it seemed she had no choice but to follow him in.
Their house was modest but warm and for that much the Orc was grateful, helping guide Dar’Shan to the bed the Nord made for him, still keeping a watchful eye for any signs of betrayal. She knew it was just her being paranoid, but she had come this far protecting the Khajiit, she wasn’t going to stop now. After all, she was sure he’d do the same for her.
"I’m Arzuug," she muttered under her breath, not really caring if the Nord heard her or not, more focused on Dar’Shan, worrying about his cough. She was no healer, but she knew it didn’t sound good.
When he left the two of them alone, she turned to the Khajiit. He didn’t look good and although she didn’t want to leave him alone, she was curious about the person who they were staying with and went to follow him.
"I’ll be right back, I swear," she muttered quietly, walking away quickly, knowing Dar’Shan was probably too weak to stop her. She didn’t trust these people she was staying with- she didn’t trust any stranger these days, especially not when someone she cared about was in danger.
She only had to open the door a crack to overhear the conversation, trying to hold her breath so they wouldn’t hear her. It was hard to keep quiet though and Arzuug felt herself give a grunt of disgust at the wife’s attitude. That was enough to silence the conversation outside and the Orc silently cursed, then pushed the door all the way open, stepping outside and closing it behind her. Both of them were staring at her, the woman with narrowed eyes and the male with confusion.
"Look," Arzuug started, feeling uncomfortable but annoyed. "I don’t really care what ya think o’me, I’m more than used t’people judgin’ me just ‘cause I’m an Orc. Yer husband isn’t the one who’s blind," she addressed the woman. "Yer blind t’what’s right just ‘cause of what race we are."
The woman went to interrupt, looking ready to scream obscenities but Arzuug took a menacing step forward and continued.
"I ain’t wantin’ yer charity if that’s what yer thinkin’. I weren’t raised like that. I’ll leave plenty o’gold- earned honestly I’ll have ya know. All I ask is that ya let my friend get better."
The wife simply turned and left to the farming, pretending to ignore the Orsimer. She'd had enough.
"Hey, let's get back to that friend of yours, Dar'Shan. He's still hurt."
~~~~~~~
Dar'Shan was laying, limply, and staring at the ceiling. He'd calmed down, and was grimacing less, as well as being much quieter. As he heard the door open, he tilted his head to face Arzuug and the farmer.
"Have you anything?" he questioned, in a broken sentence.
"Hey, hey, lay still, I'll help you out." he intructed, approaching the khajiit slowly. He removed the armor on his upper body carefully, to reveal a large slash along his arms, another wound ravaged by poison, and cuts all over. There was a shallow cut into his chest that didn't go awfully deep, but it had stained much of his fur red. It was a gruesome sight.
"You don't look too good. You'll need more than bandages." he said calmly, trying to keep the khajiit from worring to much. "You'll be alright, I've got something."
He walked to a chest, and pulled out a small healing potion, as well as cloth bandages and a rag for cleaning.
"Can you drink?" he asked. Dar'Shan answered with a nod, but made no motion with his arm. He opened his mouth for him to pour, and slowly forced down the tonic, shivering and twitching. A cough or two made him spill some, though not much.
He finished it, and felt his injuries begin to repair themselves.
Closed RP: The City of Theives [Ma'Jaara/Dar'Shan]
"Ma’Jaara, hmm? She is young, then?" he asked, with a friendly smile.
He heard her question, and raised his brow, thinking through his experiences. “Well… every city in Skyrim has its virtuous and its shameful aspects. Riften is a bit more accepting to outsiders, with the tradeoff of slightly corrupt guardsmen… but khajiit can turn his head the other way on that. That is, unless someone pays for his arrest. That happened once.” he said with a mild frown, regretting how he used to get himself in over his head with the law. “Apparently this Khajiit is not very welcome here, despite his general well-meaning and nobleness to others.”
"This one needs a drink… he will be right back." Dar’Shan got up to go buy an ale, walking over, when some burly Redguard stopped him. He was about a foot taller than Dar’Shan, and looked much meaner. The man had fire in his eyes… that, or skooma. No mead could ever make someone that crazy. He held Dar’Shan’s collar, threatening him.
"Nobleness? Well-meaning? You’re nothin’ but trash. Go back to Oblivion, right where all ya’ cats came from, and take yer’ sugar with ya!."
The man looked like he was about ready to kill him. What had he done?
"100 Septims on the angry one!" some mage yelled, seemingly entertained.
The fist came down fast, and hard, aimed right for Dar’Shan’s face. He put his paws up to block it, but the redguard twisted his grip on the khajit’s throat, and thrusted his fist in his chest, striking at an angle. Dar’Shan rolled to the wooden floor, bounding back up, and got into a stance.
As the man threw another punch Dar’Shan’s way, he lunged right, and attempted to tackle the man to the ground, only knocking him back a bit.
"Get. Offa’ me!" he yelled, pushing the khajiit back. Dar’Shan let out another hiss, but stood still, his fists still raised.
As the Redguard jabbed once more right at his face, the khajiit leaned left, grabbed hold of his arm, dug his claws in, twisted it, elbowed it with his free arm, and punched the man in the throat when he staggered. He let him fall, relishing in his victory, and ignoring the dull pain in his sternum.
He sauntered over the counter, and victoriously bought his ale. As he returned to Ma’jaara, he made sure to keep watch of the man to make sure he didn’t try anything else, and sat down. He uncorked the bottle, and took a sip, smiling to her.
"A-Are you alright?!" Ma’Jaara had a horribly worried look on her face, a hand on his shoulder. "You’re not too terribly hurt, are you? I might have some potions somewhere," she rummaged through the many pockets on her thieve’s guild attire before finally placing a potion on the table.
She looked at him worriedly once more before trying to carry on conversation. But first she had to put her moon sugar away. She stashed it in one of her pockets and spoke. “Th-this one is only 17 years, soon to be 18. She’s a little old for the prefix, but she can’t think of anything else to call herself.” She shrugged, her face still showing hints of worry.
She took a quick sip of mead to try and calm herself. And then another. She swallowed the butterfly in her mouth uncomfortably before trying to speak again. “I…I’m sorry. This one gets really unnerved whenever others are possibly hurt. I think I may need to go take a walk. You can join me, if you’d want. And your drink, too.” Ma’Jaara tried to smile, and placed a few coins on the table for a tip.
"This one... he is only bruised." he assured her, with a grin. "Dar'Shan has had worse from better." He raised a brow at the potion, and turned it down, as kindly as possible.
He listened to her explanation, intently and with ears forward. "Seventeen? A thief from a young age, then." he remarked, taking notice of her armor. He tried not to think on moonsugar too much, as she stashed her own away.
"This one would love to accompany you for a stroll. Just promise all of his things will still be where she found them." he responded, accepting her offer.
The guards didn't much like the look of two Khajiit walking the city at twilight, drink in hand. But Dar'Shan avoided any trouble with them, and kept the rest of his attention focused on his acquaintance.
dar-shan is to be switching URL's soon, unfortunately. I am seeking to join WoS, and once I have the other blog up and running as a main, then I'll let you all know what it is, and transfer all the RP's. I know, it's complicated, but it's necessary I suppose.
Cruel Tricks, Crashing Thunder, a Criminal, and a Krin
Sarsa growled at the Khajiit, the spell now broken. She sat down in the far corner of the cell with a huff. Sarsa traced her fingers over the claw marks the khajiit had left on her, shaking her head. Those were going to scar for sure.
"So what's the plan? I assume you have some way to escape?" She asked him, her voice hushed.
"The plan? Well, this one is hardly fit for picking locks, well in this position anways... and he prefers to get the sentence over with. Both of us have short prison times, so this one will live his out."
Dar'Shan had spent his time running, and didn't want to do it again. No way, especially over something so small as a stolen horse.
"Sarsa, this one suggest you not give away your hopes of escape to someone so aligned with the law as Dar'Shan. He'd trade this information to them as soon as you turned your back. You might as well have your fun hitting khajiit back, it's not like he can do anything about it."
Closed RP: The City of Theives [Ma'Jaara/Dar'Shan]
"Thieves and smugglers?" he echoed back to her, a familiar taste of regret against stereotype building up. He hated how his kind was treated. At least Riften wasn’t the worst town in that respect.
"He is called Dar’Shan. This one came here for some drink, simple as that. But now that he sees you, he only feels more interested. He too sees his own kind not very much. Even the caravans look at him a bit oddly at times, but he knows it is just to intimidate those who look like theives. This one has friends in that business."
He let a gentle smile cross his face as she caught the scent of the sugar, and it grew mischevious as she was able to pinpoint what it was.
"Indeed, he has some. Does it entice this one into wanting some from him?"
"Greetings, Dar’Shan! I am Ma’Jaara. I spend a large amount of my time here in Riften, it is this one’s home now." She smiled at Dar’Shan, hoping to make a new friend. She only had a small handful of them, and it was always a good thing to be on friendly terms with people, right?
Well, at least Ma’Jaara thought so.
"Do…do you like Riften much? Does this stranger come to this one’s home often?" She knew many did not like such a corrupt and dark city.
She took out a monarch butterfly wing to gnaw on; hoping for a good response. “Oh, and you should keep your moon sugar - it is yours, not Ma’Jaara’s…and you bought it, correct? It is not cheap, and Khajiit would feel bad taking it from you, no matter how much she wants it,” she remarked shyly but apologetic, “and this one has her own.” The butterfly still in her mouth, she brought out a small bowl of the crystals, placing it on the table next to her mead.
"Ma'Jaara, hmm? She is young, then?" he asked, with a friendly smile.
He heard her question, and raised his brow, thinking through his experiences. "Well... every city in Skyrim has its virtuous and its shameful aspects. (Oh, and the facial expressions and head moving are achieved through the nexus mod “player headtracking”)
[Reblogging this for askmajaara to see. Here's those screens you wanted, hope they help.]
(And Dar'Shan's hair is deep jet-black, his fur dark brown, and facial markings coal-black. His chest and belly a somewhat lighter shade of brown, and a few black strips cover his torso, save for his chest. His is lean, skinny, and a bit muscular, and only 5'6". He prefers archery, but always has a shortsword and daggers at his hips, and various poisons and potions at the ready.)
...hope this helps.

Ma’Jaara looked up slowly, watching as the kind stranger greeted her.
"And to you too. So, who might you be…and what brings you here?" She stared straight into his eyes, quickly sipping on some mead as she stared.
"Of course, this one doesn’t see many Khajiit around, what with the ‘thieves and smugglers’ they are. Khajiit just likes to know her own kind," she purred softly, her eyes rolling at the racism.
Her tail curling around her leg, she leaned in on the table, her gaze drifting to the candle ablaze on the wood. Ma’Jaara sniffed the air, catching the faint scent of moon sugar. She leaned in close to the guest, a devious look on her face. She brought a hand to her mouth to whisper. “And before you say anything else…I’m guessing you have a bit of sugar on you, yes?”
"Thieves and smugglers?" he echoed back to her, a familiar taste of regret against stereotype building up. He hated how his kind was treated. At least Riften wasn't the worst town in that respect.
