Darden students, we know you’ve been patiently waiting to learn the musical that’s been chosen this semester, and we’re thrilled to announce that this Fall, the freshman and sophomores of the theater department will be putting on... HEATHERS THE MUSICAL! 

Auditions will be held THIS FRIDAY ( feb 11th )! Start preparing your monologues, doing your vocal exercises and practicing your jazz squares, because the competition should be fierce!

Here’s the lowdown for our first event, which is a bit of a mini event because obviously for some of our lovely members won’t fully be able to participate. That being said, we still get all of the buzz of starting to work on the musical which opens up more opportunities for our characters to interact. Everyone playing a character who is going to be in an ACTING ROLE for the musical needs to send the an ask to the main with the following: 

Your character’s first choice role (basically what they’d love to get more than anything)

Your character’s second choice (a role they’d be fine with, not their first chance but it’s a fine scenario, if not a little disappointed)

Your characters absolute last choice (something they’d be super upset with)

We need three choices so we can determine what role will go to who. Obviously, the way this will be done will be based on your character’s rolls! We’ll be coming to you individually to talk about that. Once everyone has rolled and roles have been decided, we’ll post our official cast list!

In the meantime, for everyone else, here’s a little optional writing opportunity for your characters. Feel free to write a short self-para about their reaction to the musical choice and what they’re thinking about it all (actors are welcome to do this as well!).

hi, i just wanted to slide in to remind everyone (including the admins themselves) that admins are people too, with their own lives and own stressers to tend to, and it's always not only okay but encouraged to prioritize real life over RP. This is meant to be an escape for everyone, and the admins were kind enough to make such a well thought out and welcoming environment for us. sorry, anon, we're around right now and accepting soon, but like we've mentioned many times, we're all busy people with (and for me especially right now because the school year just started). we expect people to be respectful of that. if it’s going to be a big deal for you that occasionally it takes is a little bit of time to get to things, we understand.

due to not sending in the app, the band geek has been reopened. this means we have two open spaces over here in darden and things have just begun to really kick off! if you’re interested in joining as the band geek or the director, we’re doing rolling acceptances here, so you’ll be able to get in before we get stuck into this musical!
