Sammy and Yaz were READY to have kids. Like post Jwct they barely waited. Sammy was pregnant at the damn wedding. Brooklynn also helped a lot financially because they had the means to do IVF and pay for all the expenses themselves, but Brooklynn wanted them to have a nice wedding too so she loaned them quite a bit of money. They tried to refuse but she wouldn't budge. After Mama Fadoula (Nadia) found out, the next time she saw Brooklynn she cried and kissed her cheeks and said "You absolute angel baby".
Their first daughter is (as everyone knows) Julieta Brooklynn Fadoula. They used Sammy's eggs, and also picked a Mexican donor. She goes by Julie, but her moms call her angel. She has high standards because of her moms. She's never gonna accept anything but princess treatment from her future girlfriend/wife. Yaz and Sammy have Julie when they're 23 and 24.
Two years later, they have Olive James Fadoula. Yaz carried Olive, and they used the same donor. This was very intentional because they wanted their girls to be biologically related (not a huge deal, just something that was important to them). Unlike her sister, Olive is Arabic and Mexican. Yaz and Sammy make sure that both their girls are very proud and comfortable in both their cultures, and they make sure that even though Julie isn't Lebanese like her sister, she's still knowledgeable and proud of her mother and sisters culture. Olive is the trouble child. She keeps her moms on their toes. She learned to walk at 8 months and her moms have never known peace since. She's also a speed demon on her horse. Yaz is constantly closing her eyes when she watches Olive ride. It scares her shitless.
Kenji, Gia, and Ben got married only two years after they started dating, and they meant to wait until their thirties to have kids, but the timing ended up being faster and that's just how it went for them.
They adopted Katie and Xi when Kenji was 27, and Ben and Gia were 26. Katie is a daddy's girl (Ben), but she takes after Kenji when it comes to interests and things like that. She loves her mamma, but she and Gia really don't have much in common. Don't be fooled though they love each other a lot. Xi is more of a dad and mamma's boy. Kenji is his safe space, and he looks up to Gia so much. He loves fashion and makeup, so he's always hangin out with mamma and learning how to do makeup or going shopping. He also likes cooking with Nonna.
Katie loves aunt Yaz. She's super into sports and so they bond over that.
Xi favors aunt Brooklynn, which probably just happens to do with the fact that out of all of the camp fam girls, Gia ends up being closest with Brook. Xi also is very close with Darius and Brooks daughter.\
When she's in high school/college, Katie goes through a phase where she's constantly bringing girls home (sometimes without permission) and Kenji is all "That's my daughter 😎" meanwhile Ben is freaking out that his baby isn't a baby anymore and Gia is done walking in on her daughter sneaking some girl through the window every other night.
A baby was not in their plan. Honestly, less so in Darius' if I'm being honest. I think that Brooklynn didn't want kids, but she def thought about it every time she saw Darius with the camp fams kids or with Brands sons. And also, I think she just looked at Brands boys and was like "damn I'd have some pretty babies the Bowman genes are so good" (BECAUSE LORD LETS BE HONEST HERE BRAND AND DARIUS ARE BOTH BEAUTIFUL FREAKING MEN) but did not like seriously consider it.
Then when Brooklynn was 29, she got pregnant, which wasn't supposed to happen. At first she was like "eh whatever I've been here before I'll just make an appointment" but then she went to tell Darius she needed an abortion, and she just. Changed her mind. Like something switched. She told Darius she was pregnant and he immediately knew this wasn't the same as when she was 17. He could tell before she even said anything that she wanted the baby. He was of course on board for whatever she wanted, but it took him a few days to soak it in. At first it lowkey put a strain on them because Brooklynn could tell that he wasn't enthusiastic and she was pretty damn sad, but then during that first ultrasound appointment when he saw their little bean, something flipped.
Darius went from not wanting kids ever to being the most girl dad to ever fucking girl dad. Brooklynn loves her daughter more than anything, but Darius is wrapped around her finger. Estrella looks just like her daddy, except she has Brooklynn's green eyes. I wouldn't say she's a mommy's girl or a daddy's girl. She's kinda just both. Although, there is a period when she's in her teens that she is adamantly her moms girl. I'm not gonna say shit but some stuff I'm planning for mid forties Brooklynn is rough and she tries to keep Estrella out of the shit show but Estrella worms her way in despite Brooklynn trying to stop her.
Darius is a tea party dad. He's wearing tutu's and a tiara and sipping imaginary tea at least three times a week when Ellie's little. Brooklynn is always buying Ellie "Future President of the United States/Future Madam President" shirts/onesies.
Her nicknames are Ellie and Ellie belly, but Darius sometimes just calls her "Belle" which is very confusing for teachers
Adult Estrella is that fucking girl. She's running circles around everyone. I'm talking like she's made a name for herself and is extremely successful at a very young age.
I think her upbringing was def more rooted in African American culture, but she is very proud of her moms Peruvian side. (thank you darilynzz once again for the Peruvian Brook headcanon we love it over here)
Oh forgot to mention her full name: Estrella Ronnie Bowman (thank you darilynzz we all say in unison). Xi calls her erb bc of her initials. She hates it. But its ok bc I'm pretty sure darilynzz once said they all call Xi Xylophone.
No her names not Hyphenated because President Bowman sounds more to the point than President Garcia-Bowman jk jk jk
