A chuckle.
“Oh, no, no. I’d love to, but I have a little one at home. I can’t just leave.”
“I see...” A sigh of relief escaped the red haired woman’s lips. Honestly it was already stressful enough to see those participants already, specially when she recognised some faces. Yet--
“You would totally leave everyone in awe, I’m certain.” she said with a smile, “But I’m glad to know you’ll be safe too!”
“--Wait! What little one?”
“I know. It is a bit worrying…”
“Mikoto, are you...?” Planning to join too?
“Something smells fishy!”
“Can you really blame me?” Mikoto’s laugh came out as a choked whisper, yet she did not relinquish the hold she had on the woman. Not just yet, at least. Let them cherish this moment for awhile longer…
But when she finally did let go, she drew back, grip now on Kushina’s shoulders as dark eyes took to studying her friend’s face instead. For all of this world’s faults… It certainly had a knack of bringing about unexpected blessings. For those who had met their demise with regrets, this could be seen as a second chance.
Certainly, there would always be concerns regarding Pandora’s motives, but for the time being, they would celebrate what treasures they had.
“It has been so long…” Mikoto marvelled. “How long have you been here? Did you just arrive? Have you met anyone else?”
Was it possible that Minato was here as well?
The matriarch almost asked, but stopped herself just in time, deciding that perhaps she ought to give it a touch longer before bombarding Kushina with more questions.
For all she knew, Kushina could be in the same situation she was in, husband-wise.
A chuckle escaped Kushina’s lips, along with a quick sniff. Just when she thought she would never see Mikoto or anyone else again, when she felt her life been taken away, her spirit vanishing, here they all were.
With Mikoto’s hands on her shoulders, the red haired hurried to dry her watery eyes, “I don’t know why it suddenly happened.” she was quick to add, as her smile remained in her face.
“Ah~ Just a few months, and I did, some were really peculiar strangers-- Oh I met your sons you know! Your baby one too! Well, is not a baby anymore, how weird is that? He did told me he’s good friends with mine! It happened Mikoto!” she explained going from a calm demeanour into a more excited one, she even held the matriarch’s arms and made attempted a few little jumps.
“Also! Itachi is so big too! You must be very happy and proud! And, and...” placing a hand over her own mouth, she offered an apologetic smile. Again, talking way too much, “...Anyway, how about you? Have you been well? How long has it been for you?”
Groceries Shopping.
“Thank you,” Giselle said, preening a little. She was fucking adorable, it was high time someone noticed!
Giselle waved her hand as if brushing away the apology. “I’ve always looked younger than I really am,” she said solemnly, “not least because I take excellent care of my own health!”
The woman could turn very red however. Giselle wondered if she could make a game of it, see how red someone could turn. She grabbed a few more apples, before reaching for the citrus. She did like some sour with her sweet, after all.
“Is it?” she asked, cocking her head at the comment, “I picked it myself you know.” With that, she grabbed the woman’s sleeve, “come on, there’s a sale on artisan cheeses over here, I think there’s even taste testing.”
There was nothing funnier than getting people to try stinky cheeses for the first time.
“Ah~ I see, I see. Oh~ Well you’re a doctor, of course you must know about taking excellent care. Although I’ve known enough healers that might as well give a lot to try to look younger too” she said along with a sheepish chuckle.
All right, apples, potatoes, oranges, more vegetables. The crimson haired mentally listed, and so she hurried to carry them out, thinking already of all the good dishes she was going to do. Her stomach growling just by the mere thought.
Her attention was brought back by Giselle’s gentle touch. Awww, how adorable, she pulled her sleeve. Giselle was definitely cute enough to make anyone cry~ Her eyes sparkled almost automatically, but that was right, she wasn’t a little girl.
“Ah is that so? Oh, okay let’s check them out!” she exclaimed with a more optimistic smile. Either way maybe she could make a good acquaintance with her.
To stay… strong? Ino looked a bit puzzled at the woman’s words, but then, a cold shiver ran down her spine.
She knew exactly why the red-haired woman was telling her to be strong.

Genuine confusion hit the red haired woman before she noticed the horror in the blonde’s face. Ah how inconsiderate from her part, “Forgive me, I tend to speak a lot without realising, you know!” she apologised while scratching the back of her head, offering an embarrassed grin before it turned into a more gentle one.
“But...” Softly the young woman held Ino’s hands, “ ...There’s nothing to fear, it might be intimidating, but once you hold that tiny little baby, so fragile and good in your hands...Well, you’ll discover it yourself. A mother’s love is a very powerful thing, I’m sure you’ll be all right.”

That soft face with the blush. It reminded her of someone, but she couldn’t be exact about who. Definitely someone from Konoha though. Ino returned the woman’s smile with a bashful one of her own. “Ara… ahah… this, yes,” she patted her stomach softly. “Due any day now… heh.”
“Awww~ That’s amazing!” the crimson haired exclaimed with genuine joy, and though she felt a little sorry for the pain the blonde was about to experience, it was all worth it in the end. “Be sure to stay strong! Both of you~” she encouraged along with a gentle smile.

Bazz-B reeled backwards for a moment, the sharp pain sudden and confusing. Without his Blut Vene, the instinctive line of defense was gone, and instead such trivial things could harm him. More than that though, the Quincy could usually get a good read on what things he shouldn’t say to a person to avoid getting punched. For now he was shocked and confused.
“-ttbane?” he echoed quietly, mind hurrying to catch up to what was happening. She had no knowledge of any otherworldly races, which might have meant she were human, but there was no place on earth called Konoha?
“You’re a freakin’ ninja?” Did that mean she was from the past? Pandora had claimed she could pull people from any timeline.. “Do you know what a light bulb is?”
“Hmph”
That’s what he gets for being so rude. The fiery haired crossed her arms, still furrowing at the young man, slowly trying to control herself once again. That was until he seemed genuinely shocked of such statement, oh now that she remembered Pandora did spoke of residents of other worlds!
“Oi! Of course I know what a light bulb is! What do you think we ninjas live inside a cave?”
Well, not like they didn’t camped form time to time, but the villages were supplied with enough technology to live comfortable. Perhaps the ninjas that lived in the world of this person were different or non-existent.
“What kind of world do you even come from?”
The sound of her surname caught his attention, though his expression betrayed none of the surprise he felt. So this was… his mother’s best friend. The mother of his best friend. How odd.
“We are. Good friends that is.”
A bright smile crossed her features, so they were good friends after all! That was a relief and a great joy.
“I’m glad!” she exclaimed before scratching the back of her head a bit embarrassingly, “He must’ve put you through some exasperating times didn’t he? Thank you very much for being patient and befriending Naruto.”
Well, he was Mikoto’s son after all.

Ah but how many kindred people she’d met lately! How cute~ A quick blush crossed Kushina’s features as well as a rather sheepish smile, “Oh! That’s very kind of you, thank you very much!”
“Yours is very beautiful!” she replied, perhaps she was member of the Yamanaka clan? She certainly had the features, “But I can see there’s a brighter and more pure beauty that you’re holding dearly right now, amazing!”
Like their hair colors it was hard not to notice such cute baby bump!

“Saaa..if such is the case, I refuse to be a fool.”
The woman chuckled softly, taking the books from Kushina’s grasp and turning them over so she was able to scan the bar codes on the back. Truth be told, she hadn’t thought about it until Kushina explained. In a sense, Kushina was like an artist, wanting to share her hard work for others to enjoy. How rude would it be for Konan to deny her that?
“I made the mistake of looking through this one the other day when I was craving something sweet.” She noted, waving the book covering desserts in her hand before carefully placing both of them in a bag. “It’s torture, looking at things like that when you’re hungry.” She joked while handing the bag to Kushina.
A sudden thought crossed her mind and Konan hesitantly made her following request. “Kushina-san..if it’s not too much trouble, could I possibly observe how you prepare the meal?” Maybe she could learn a few tricks of the trade. Perhaps, there was still time to teach an old kunochi new tricks. Maybe she would take a few classes if she found the time between working and the one she was already signed up for.
The fiery haired woman smiled brightly at the other, a small blush crossing her features, almost matching her own hair. It was nice to notice the acceptance of the woman, encouraging even.
A chuckle escaped the young woman, “I can imagine. Well, then I shall warn you not to go to a grocery store when you’re hungry...Trust me, you might regret it later.” she said while paying Konan the exact amount and taking the bag that she was given. “Thank you!” she added out of courtesy before being careful enough to carry the new little paper guardian of the house.
“Hm?” Violet blue eyes widen of surprise at such request, but it was such a heart-warming one. Looking back at Konan, there was a sudden peaceful feeling, a sense of trust, perhaps one made by her own son? Either way, her gaze softened as so did her smile.
“It’ll be my very pleasure, Konan-san!” she said eagerly before looking around the desk, “...Ah...shall I just tell you my place or would like to see it at the campus? Since I have a good feeling of this, I’ll welcome you anywhere so...Take your pick”

This chick was either catching on to him, or was suffering a bout of early alzheimer’s. The other chance was that she was feeling homesick.. which begged the question, was she dragged here by Pandora. Bazz-B didn’t know her that was damn sure. So maybe she was an Arrancar..?
As she continued to speak, his eyes narrowed. This chick had some insight on her, but more importantly she’d also admitted to being another pawn in Pandora’s game. “What the hell are you then?” he questioned. “Shinigami, Quincy or Hollow?”
“I’m here looking for people with nasty hickeys like yours,” he pointed out, before twisting his neck to show his. “Big bitch in charge thought she’d give me a goodbye present, wanted to know if anyone around knew anything about them, Kushina-san.” He drawled the name, bored by the insistence of formality. “Just Bazz-B is fine.”
“..What am I...?” she mumbled before the young man began to bombard her with question of different kinds of creatures, of course a couple of them did not sound familiar at all, but shinigamis were known even in Konoha. Not the same kind, but still.
Which of course, such hallucination made the crimson haired to start laughing, she? A shinigami or whatever those things were? Please, even a fox reference would’ve been more accurate, wrong too, but closer. “YOU'RE WRONG --TTEBANE!” she snapped while hitting the man’s head with her fist, her hair almost resembling the same of the Nine Tailed Beast just for one second.
“I’m not anything of those strange things you’re talking about. Just one proud kunoichi from Konoha, you know! Seriously...Did that woman gave you some kind of hallucinogen?” she added in a fast paced manner, trying to regain her cool once again.
Shinigami, the memory of the demon-like creature only worked as an annoyance. Yeah she died, but her reflection did not lied!
Twice the blunette would blink before closing her eyes and shaking her head, chuckling ever so softly into her hand while waving her free one. Kushina really was rather cute even when she was making such an expression, though she didn’t dare voice such. Regardless, she didn’t want to offend the Uzumaki woman. They had quite the temper.
“Saa. That’s not it at all, Kushina-san. I simply didn’t want to trouble you.”
Konan had no doubt in her mind about Kushina’s cooking abilities. She was, after all, one of the cooking instructors for the University. Pandora wouldn’t let someone terrible with a spatula teach all the promising minds of this world now, would she?
“Though if you insist, I would be crazy to pass up a good treat considering I couldn’t cook if my life depended on it.”
She chuckled softly, sad to say that statement wasn’t a lie.
One step back and an arched brow, for a moment her heart skipped a beat, because it was sensible like that sometimes. A part of her did not understand what was it exactly, but made her feel a certain level of compassion. Most likely her motherly instincts were just kicking in.
“You bet you would be crazy~” she exclaimed to lighten up the atmosphere before a gentle smile crossed her features, and offered a reassuring gaze. “It is not trouble at all, Konan-san. As a cook, what pleases us most is to be able to share a delicious meal or treats with others!”
Besides maybe that way they could get to know each other better, this place was strange and there were many strange faces, so of course it was scary. At least getting an acquaintance was something to be very grateful of. “Ah~ That’s right.”
Taking back the books she was peeking at before meeting the lovely lady, she turn them over the bluenette. One was about regular cooking, and the other for desserts, if she was going to offer her treats, she better give her all so the librarian can enjoy. “I’m taking these then!”
“Mikoto is my mother yes,”
This must’ve been what that Pandora woman explained, about certain people being older or younger than what she remembered, but again, even Naruto was grown as well.
“Incredible! Believe it or not I met you when you were a cute little baby --you know! I even hoped you and my son could become good friends. Ah I haven’t introduced right? Sorry for that, I’m Uzumaki Kushina.”
