"I am not sure who you are, nor do I really care." Nova stated simply yet harshly. "Stop staring at me before I make sure you can't stare at all." He wasn't in a mood to be observed and was going to make that plainly known to the other.

"Harsh much? HMPH." She crossed her arms and looked away.

"First off, you don't tell me who or what I can look at, and I have you know that you just threatened a royal of the kingdom of solaria." She then looked back towards the stranger.

"I could care less who or what you look at, as long as it's not me." Nova stated bluntly, his ire for the woman only growing.

"Never heard of this Solaria place, but seems like a good way to put you in your place." He would stand up. "Reducing another area to ruin, whether it is a town, country, or even a planet should probably show you to hold your tongue." His cheek marks would slightly glow. While he would prefer to stay down low, he could always make an escape afterwards.

"Put me in my place? You wouldn't DARE touch my kingdom or MY family. You'll he in for a world of hurt if you do." She glared. She was preparing to transform, but at what cost.

She didn't know how much of a threat this guy was and how dangers he could make things for her and her family. "What exactly do you want?" She asked.

"You make it sound like I don't already know pain." He stated bluntly and plainly. "You'll find it hard to truly harm me." He was very adept with healing magic, despite how he appeared, given it was his original specialty.

"Nothing besides to be left to my own devices." Nova stated solemnly. "Also, a bit of advice from experience. Do not trust anyone, even your own family." He had suffered from his family, despite being the prince at the time.

While she may have given him plenty of information about him, he barely gave her any information about him.

“Hey there! I don’t think I’ve seen magic like yours before. It was very kind of you to share some of it to help that monster. Not a lot of Mewmans would do that. Are you new to this dimension?”

Nova almost jumped enough to have his hood fly off his head. It would have been a strange twist of irony for the healing magic Butterfly to have needed a doctor. He would calm his heart down. 

Turning to face the size-shifter, most of his face would remain covered under the shadow provided by his hood, only his eyes would be noticeable inside the black cover. “There are few that are capable of healing magic.” His voice was a lot more cheerful. As long as he was free from being identified, he could relive his youth.

“The Slime Monster would present his thanks and greet Globgor. “Take care.” Nova would call out keeping his attention mainly on the monster king as the Slime Monster turned to be on their way. “There is no reason I can imagine why I shouldn’t help. Who knows how long it will be until the people here can learn to treat the injuries on monsters.”

“I am. This dimension looks to be better than mine.”

Nova was at first somewhat calm given that the sizeshifter appeared cheerful, but hearing their words cut through that like a hot knife through butter, though he wasn’t surprised. There wasn’t too much of a connection established to make sure. 

Personally, the young man was unsure how the other would respond. He knew of the acts that had been committed to monsters during his own time and for the most part felt that with rare exceptions all the members of the Butterfly were enemies of their kind, then was the fact he was potentially trying to move himself into the family of the other’s wife. 

“My name is Nova Butterfly, but my name will only add to your confusion if anything.” He would honestly state, with a slight bob of his right hand in the air. The name, after all, was not one that any living member of the Butterfly family would recognize. There was no mention of him in the current spellbook as it was made after he was trapped in crystal. Even if the original spellbook did exist, he never had ownership of it and his name wasn’t written in its pages. 

“As for why you never seen me around, it’s cause I have been in crystal for six centuries, give or take.” He’d address the matter of infamilarity between the two. So much had changed over that time that it was dizzying him.

@dark-magistrate​ asked;  “Tivia, who was that lady you were talking to?” Nova was curious about seeing Jinx, but didn’t want to interrupt. 

“She’s a girl I like,” Festivia replied tentatively, waiting for his reaction to press her answer further. She was hardly ashamed of her girlfriend, but she had the sense to know not all of her peers on Mewni might approve of the ‘cursed’ non mewman girl.

Nova could tell a couple of things from Tivia’s reaction, things that her words didn’t say outright. A playful chuckle would immediately emerge from the young man’s lips. “That’s an understatement.” He would close his eyes briefly to focus his thoughts. “Tivia, I may not understand a lot of what is happening since of my circumstances. We are also not related by blood.”

“That said, I like seeing you happy and you looked happy with her. We also consider each other family.” When it comes to other people impressions, the young man largely ignored them given it was how he was treated when he was a kid and he ignored them back then. “So what’s her name?” The words would be accompanied by leaning playfully toward her. He didn’t understand why she was reacting the way she was, but she was still the sister he loved.

Though Nova had been making progress with Globgor about his situation, he didn’t feel that it was ideal to present his identity as a member of the Butterfly family, at least at the moment. It was a mixture that he could venture a good guess that it would be stepping on a number of toes if he said he was related to the same family as the king’s wife. Then was the situation with monsters that the young man could last recall and he held little belief that he would be believed if he said that he wanted peace rather than war after all who would. 

The fallen prince was uncertain if he would ever get used to the world that was around him. His long lost identity did present itself with a boon. He doubted that medical means had progressed to treat monsters. This allowed him to use his healing magic on any monsters that he saw during his travels. Such travels eventually brought him to the Monster Temple. He chose not to make a spectacle of himself by keeping himself concealed inside his charcoal black cloak and shroud, though that intention ended up being counterproductive.

“I know Nova, and I’m happy to be in your company too. But I guess I’m just not used to things being so quiet around. Some nonsense usually would’ve found it’s way into my lap by now in the past.”

“Sounds like you miss the nonsense.” The prince teased, rocking gently back and forth on the balls of his feet. “If so, I can see if I can figure something out.” It wasn’t really like his parents could stop him or chide him for doing it. He was going to act within moderation.

Globgor kept a smile on his face, although he made sure to take in as much as the boy’s physical form as he could. He was always ready to give a stranger a fair chance, no matter how unusual they appeared to be, but that didn’t mean he didn’t prepare himself in case the chance was in vain. It was going to take more than one generous act to earn the Monster King’s complete trust.

Plus the guy was wearing a hood over his face. Was there anything more shady than that?

“Well, why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself? Your name, your dimension of origin? I hope you understand that as King of Mewni, I don’t feel very comfortable with you using magic on my subjects without me knowing more about you. Sometimes things that appear nice and kind can actually hold an evil purpose. And vice versa, of course!”

“It’s understandable. Err on the side of caution after all.” A position of royalty had to show a display of gratitude but not just wantonly present their trust to anyone that does a good deed. 

“I’m actually from one half of this dimension. The Mewni side.” His voice had a gentle tone. Free from the opinions and views of others, he felt a lot more liberated from his past. “I am not here to start anything. As a start to show that, I will not keep my face hidden from you.” 

Reaching up to both sides of his hood, Nova would lower the hood so his face was visible. In compensation, the prince’s demeanor seemed to belie the gentle and kindness that he previously displayed as his face was stoic and almost heartless. “Liks I promised.”

Well that was certainly a drawn-out way to say ‘I thought your wife was supposed to be evil, but I guess she’s not’. Globgor felt his shoulders relax a bit once it became apparent that this guy didn’t mean his wife any harm. Who could really blame him? When he’d learned that one of the kitchen staff had attempted to poison his beloved with yada yada berries during his absence, he had nearly gone on a rampage to find the culprit. Mewni could stay ignorant and hate on her all they wanted, but he would not allow anyone to jeopardize her well-being, or Meteora’s for that matter. That’s why he always had one watching those who stood against the crown. He never knew how far people were willing to go for their misguided views. 

“Right….sorry for shift in mood there. I’m not used to people speaking nicely about my wife. Sometimes it really puts me on edge.” He crossed his massive arms across his broad chest. He tilted his head to the side, his ears twitching as the wind hit them. “Although, I have to admit, now you’ve got me curious. You’ve heard of my ‘Queen of Darkness’, but what about me? Surely if you had heard of the King of Monsters, you would’ve ran as soon as you saw me? I mean, I hear there’s a lot of merchandise that’s been made in my honor. You had to have known what I looked like! Unless…you really haven’t heard of me?”

Nova would rest his left hand on his hip. “I’ll be entirely honest. There’s only three things I knew about Eclipsa until I met you. Her name, her title, and her appearance. That is the extent of my knowledge. A title never gives the full story, so I never base my expectation upon it.” His right hand would shift in the air as it bobebed as he spoke. He had more reasons why he went against the relative bias of a title but that was neither here nor there.

Shifting so his right hand was on his hip. “Honestly, merchandise is  always been catered to a selling point. I know of your name and that was it until now. All I’ve ever heard was only bits and scraps from incidental eavesdropping. Never stuck around to hear the entire thing through.” He’d rest his right hand along the back of his head. 

Now for the final matter to be addressed. “Even if I knew of your title, I would’ve waited to actually meet you before even passing a thought of running away from you. I’d rather give you a chance. I’d like to do my part to maintain good relations for both you and Eclipsa and to someone from when before I was encased who actually had the same goal.” He wasn’t entirely sure how well he had been addressing the matters but did feel that he was being honest up until he spoke about the someone since he was actually referencing his younger self. He didn’t know how well the story would pass as it might actually seem a bit too convenient.
