What I really don’t get about Down with Cis vs. Down with Hate is that, yes Down with Cis started as a joke and very well still be a joke to most of you, but the people who support it are Actively misgendering and bullying a 15-year old because he had the audacity to say we should be nice to people.

Now what I don’t get specifically-because there’s a lot I don’t get- is the fact that these people are doing exactly what the Cis folks they’re fighting do. Am I wrong? According to these guys, Cis people actively attack, bully, misgender, and cause the death of hundreds of Trans folk every year, which, sadly, is true. However if you look on Chris’ blog and in the “Down With Hate” tag, this is exactly what you see from the people who disagree with him. They’re bitter, calling Chris out because he doesn’t cope with the shitty cards he’s been dealt by being a shitty person in return. In fact, I have only seen a few blogs A.) Actually listen to what he has to say, and/or B.) Apologize. (I have, however, seen people say Up with Hate like??? Do you see what you typed? How anyone can type Up with Hate is beyond me)

The Down with Hate movement is not for Cis people. It’s for anyone who is tired of assholes having the loudest voice in the room. It’s for people who get hate from both sides for not conforming one way or another. It’s for people who are done letting pushy, policing, hateful people get their way. It’s for people who are Tired of the never ending circle of bitterness towards each other. It’s sick and it needs to stop.

In the same moment the other person is suppose to face the other way to win, if they go the same direction of the hand they lose and receive a punishment of some sort (usually a hard flick to the head)

I see a lot of people defending the “Down With Cis” thing, claiming it is simply a joke, doesn’t hurt anyone, and that this means the “Down With Hate” is transphobic.

Yet you’ve all managed to make a 15 year old trans boy, the trans boy who created “Down With Hate” message suicidal. Congratulations for showing exactly why people think “Down With Cis” is a horrible, hateful thing, even though it’s a “joke”.

He tried to send a message, a message supposed to be exactly what it says. A message about not hating each other, a message against spreading the harmful “Us vs. Them” mentality. A message telling us all to love each other despite our differences.

And somehow, you people who write “Down With Cis” made this negative, started harrassing him, sending him hate and made everything about showing how much you really hate.

Tell me, you people who say “Down With Cis”, you’ve made a person suicidal. Is it still a joke? How many do you need to drive to harm themselves, until it’s no longer a joke?

I say Down With Hate. I stand with @jeancrocker I hope you get through this, sweetie. You tried to spread a lovely message, and a lot of people took it to heart. Try finding those people, and focus on them, and try your best to look away from the people who warps your message.
