what placements can indicate a psychopath?
Astrological placements can’t diagnose someone with psychopathy, but some placements can share similar qualities in a way. There is also the nature vs nurture aspect which I think plays a huge factor.
There is a book called “The Dark of the Soul: Psychopathology in the Horoscope” by Liz Greene. I found a discussion about it on a forum. The author studied charts of serial killers and 30% of them had Moon trine or sextile Chiron. Moon-Uranus aspects were prominent as well. In her words, both of these aspects help with the disconnection from feelings and pain. More about it here: https://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?p=743689
I know when talking about psychopathy and astrology most people give serial killers as examples. In my opinion, it doesn’t have to go to that level or show up in such ways, sometimes in comes off as plain apathy regarding other people and emotions. What can show such qualities in a birth chart?
I believe aspects to the Moon are quite important. As she said, Moon aspecting a planet like Uranus or Neptune can show a certain type of disconnection, which I think can come off as apathy, unlike Chiron or Saturn, even Pluto-Moon aspects, where apathy can be result of pain.
With Uranus, it may come off as emotional abnormalities, unusual way of processing emotions, emotional turmoils, lack of emotional stability, especially in a square.
Neptune, I would say, is just confusion, like a black hole regarding the processing of emotions, they may not understand them, their feelings may not feel like a close part of them. This would also somewhat describe Moon in the 12th House.
In both of these cases, they may not understand that part of themselves or others, there is a lack of explanation to why do people behave in this way when they are upset, how can they be upset at all? Something that may be hurtful to others, may not upset or affect them at all.
Now for Moon-Chiron, Saturn or Pluto aspects. I think here, apathy and lack of emotions can come from their need for disconnection from past trauma, they have learned their old lessons, whether it’s trauma from relationships or childhood. I wouldn’t even describe it as apathy, just coldness when it comes to dealing with emotions. They may put walls around themselves for protection, even around their closest people. They may not give a reaction to something that was meant to upset them, I can’t see them as big criers either.
The Moon in a mutable sign. They may process feelings quickly or not at all, things come and go, they may not add depth or meaning to any circumstance or event which others may regard as hurtful or traumatizing. Again, it depends on aspects and the house the Moon sign is in.
Anything in a strong aspect to Uranus or Neptune, with a focus on Neptune squares again. Disconnection from actions, behaviour, they may not be aware of who they are, Sun or Mercury square Neptune can show many false narratives, lies regarding themselves, lack of connection to reality, lack of adequate judgement.
Many of these qualities can also describe the qualities of narcissist or a sociaopath. I’m not diagnosing anyone, I’m just showing the bad ways an aspect can show up in real life.
When it comes to psychopathy, I think a neglected aspect is that many of them are charismatic, they get what they want because they are not affected by the ways they can use and manipulate people, they are charismatic when it’s useful to them, similarly to narcisists, but I think way more dangerous.
Jupiter in 1st square Venus in 10th. In the worst cases, I’d describe this as a social climber aspect, someone willing to step over anyone in order to get ahead, their ego is big, they may be focused on vanity, wealth and they may lack the need for healthy relationships because why bother if it doesn’t benefit me in any way? I can see them being ruthless.
Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, maybe Moon square Jupiter. They may be entitled, they need the validation and ego boost, but because of the disconnection between the planets, they may not not how to get it and it may show up in bad ways or be seen as desperation. They may blame the world and others for their own bad decisions and lack of action.
Sun in Leo in 12th House, possibly one of the worst houses to have a Leo Sun in. They can be very frustrated because the part of themselves they want to show the most, their ego is hidden away from others.
Pluto in 8th, Pluto in 12. While both may be power hungry and secretive about their actions and plans, the 8th House may use others, they will use up people, do anything in order to get what they want from them. Pluto in 10th can be similar. Lilith in 8th/10th too. They can be very selfish. Pluto in 12th can be power hungry but not know what to do about it. Again, the 12th House can make any house that’s in it quite passive, which can lead to inner-tension and frustrations which can show up in bad ways. Also, Lilith. It can bring out the little devil of someone whatever house it’s in.
This post is kind of messy, but I hope its helpful. If I think of more, I will add later.
