✍ + 19. ...what makes them happy?

((what most closely resembles happiness for dark crafter is perhaps a very distorted version of the concept. while for most happiness might come from spending time with a loved one or achieving a goal, for him, happiness is being able to mold and manipulate the world around him however he sees fit. ultimately, its the control and the consequences that make him happy.

to pinpoint one thing that makes him “happy” in particular, he has a discomforting fascination with claycia. while - despite their ignorance to this fact - he created all four of the sisters, in some disturbed sense, claycia is his favourite. he keeps a close eye on her, knowing exactly how to manipulate her or evoke certain emotions. especially comparative to the somewhat small level of interest he shows in the other sisters, dark crafter could even be considered obsessive, thoroughly enthralled by what makes her tick and how different things affect her. undoubtedly, it would be a disconcerting fascination under any circumstances, but his interest in possessing her and acting out her life himself is the icing on the discomfort-cake))

♤ - 'Dislike' headcanon

((something that alienates dark crafter from other dark matter creatures is his inability to tolerate boredom. while most may have little to no requirement for entertainment, dark crafter grows bored and restless as quickly as a spoilt child would, if not quicker. always up to no good, he requires a constant high level of mental stimulation, something that becomes harder to achieve the more he experiences new things. most actions of his that cannot be justified by any sane person usually hold the sole motivation of entertainment))

((being dark matter, dark crafter can’t consume food - he’s not built to be able to process any of it. not only does he lack a digestive system, but what could most closely be associated to a mouth is also his primary eye. any attempt to consume food through this would be just like sticking food in your eye; pretty painful, potentially damaging, and just generally not the smartest idea. because he’s so unfamiliar with the concept of hunger and eating, this can be disorientating when he possesses someone who needs to eat.

theres not really anything that can be closely equated to a need to digest food, either. he does still need rest though!))

((unfortunately, there arent many mainstream sports that cater towards monstrous clumps of dark matter. luckily for dark crafter, though, he’s found himself something much more practical for him: possession. when he possesses someone, the consequences tend to be relatively minor, even sometimes harmless. this is because dark crafter treats this just as someone would treat a sport, even going so far as to keep track of his “score”, to compare with other dark matter. undeniably, if it were a competition, he’d certainly be high up on the leaderboard, as the act of trickery and meddling in others’ lives is one of the few things he consideres genuine entertainment.

though the common misconception is that he had one set goal in mind by possessing claycia, the simple truth is that, mostly, it was just for fun. however, there were other, unusual motives and circumstances for this as well... but thats a whole other headcanon, and i dont want to go on too long in one post, so if you happen to be interested feel free to ask 7u7))

Dark Crafter’s face dropped in an apparent imitation of genuine bemusement. Making assumptions now, were we? This one was entertaining. He had to admit, he was rather fond of him - if only for his oh-so-charming narcissism. The ability of others to be so intoxicated by themselves was truly intruiging.

“Then I suppose it’s just as well I’ve no interest in making a mark, isnt it? People are wonderful; people’s reactions moreso. Perhaps you had grand intentions yourself, but what’s the use of that if the process itself isn't the exciting part?” The repulsive, warped cheer quickly re-emerged.

"Ohoh, well, isn't this a lovely surprise?" A twisted voice sang in greeting. "Dark Mind, yes? How have things been going for you since your Mirror World shenanigans-... let's say "didn't go to plan", shall we?"

“Yeah, yeah. So, I forgot to check the dungeon locks. Not my fault I didn't think that knight wasn’t skinny enough to get through the bars!”

The subject’s a bit touchier than he’d care to admit, so he tries to turn the tables.

“Can’t be any worse than when you successfully conquered Dreamland only to lose to a toddler that got transmogrified into a rocket ship.”

“Come on now, darling, let’s not make this about me. I’m much too humble, why don’t we talk about you?” The sinister demon cooed with faux sympathy, as if to humour a clingy child. Any inklings of an underlying motivation were few and far between, but this was evidently entertainment either way.

“I’m much more interested to know how you can be completely thwarted by four unaltered small children, despite your greatest efforts. How was that for you?”

“You-!” Dark Mind just about sputters in shock. “Dark Meta Knight went against orders! I meant to have him killed, not subdivided!” Damn, this guy really wasn’t giving him an inch to breathe, huh? Well, nothing else to do than to power through. He huffs and resumes.

“Eh, I was outnumbered. Happens to the best of us.” A mischievous glint flickers in all three eyes. Boys, boys. You’re both pretty. “You choked.”

Dark Crafter clasped his hands with girlish glee, seemingly elated. Like every emotion, though, he expressed it with his own sick twist - a twist sounding ever comparable to the consumption of poison, in everything he did.

“Excuses, how cute! Tell me, will those excuses rewrite history? Will you fix everything by justifying your mistakes in that sweet little head of yours?”
