The king and Yume lead their guest down to the basement lab the angel worked in. The lab itself was state of the art and blinding in itâs stainless steel walls and bright white lights overhead. Shadede and Dark were seated near the entrance at a table that appeared from the floor. Waddle Dee ushered in carrying a variety of food. They were careful as to not spill any of it on the floor knowing their angelic masterâs distaste for anything less then spotless.
Yume had moved to the far back of the lab where a large control module was placed. They dug threw multiple files looking for something in their research that could be useful. They pressed a few buttons and the walls of the lab opened to reveal hidden equipment that slid out into itâs place on the main floor. Yume turned and moved to the strange mechanism they summoned and began the process of starting it up.
Shadede watched the naga with a dopey grin as he leaned on one hand and took another bite of his meal. âSometimes I swear I must be dreaming⊠because there is just no way I could be so lucky to win their heart.â The monarch sighed. âTheir so precise, so efficient, and organized. I donât know how I would ever run this kingdom without them~â
Excuse Shadede, he an idiot in love and canât seem to shut up about how amazing his spouse is.
âMm, yes. They seem just spectacular.â Well, Plan B went soaring out the window. Dark Mind would be lucky if he could ask this guy to pass the salt without getting a love sonnet aimed at Yume. âAnd I bet theyâre a great kisser, too.â
Dark Mind attempted to take a bite of one of the foods, but the coalescing glob of organs in his eyeball-like lower body turned. Instead, the demon took notice of the Waddle Deesâ actions, raising an eyebrow at their precise, ballerina-esque movements. With an outright childish mirth, he nimbly plucked a cherry from the top of an extravagant sundae and flicked it onto the ground, hoping either the snake-angel or the little peons would respond.Â
A waddle dee was quick to catch the cherry and took it away. A moment later a dee trotted out with a new cherry on a small plate. The dee placed it neatly to the side of dark mind. The small dee bowed lightly to the demon and then turned and left.
âOh, please refrain from spilling anything. Yume likes to have everything neat.â Shedede said casually.
Yume moved over to them with a strange device in hand. They moved over to the demon. âMay I please see your hand? I want to see if I can find any readings that match my current data I have on file.â
âOf course he does!â Dark Mind trilled. Internally, he cursed up a storm. At this point, he was wondering if he could even bump his hand against a glass without twenty Waddle Dees tripping over themselves to clean of a single droplet of water. It then occurred to him, maybe he should go for broke; go big or go... back to his dimension.
Dark Mind picked up a fork, and aimed it over his hand, his golden eyes glinting with glee as he thrust the utensil down-
âYeah, go right ahead.â The fork stopped centimeter over his hand as he showed it to Yume. Sheesh, that snake had the worst timing.

The couple gave an odd look to dark mind. Yume, because they werenât good with emotions in general. Shadede because this demon was speaking as if they met before.
âUhh, Iâm sorry have we met before?â The King questioned. The angel leaned in close to Shadede ear and whispered to him quietly.
âOh! I see. How exciting!â Shadede cupped Yumeâs face with a grin. Yume warped their arms around the monarch, a gentle smile gracing their lips at seeing their husband so happy. âDearest, our guestâ
Shdede blinked and then turned to dark mind remembering that the angel was shy about public displays of affection. âAh yes! A vister from another dimension! That must be so thrilling! Oh! We should treat you to lunch! You must be starving! Plus you can tell all about your universe!â The king offered.
Yume nodded âYes that sounds wonderful dear. While you two eat Iâll set up my need tech in the lab.â Shadede frowned at that. âOh canât you join for just us hon?â Yume shook their head lightly. âI canât. Who knows what could happen if he stays out of his demetion for too long.â âWell we can join you in the lab then!â Yume sighed know they couldnât say no him. âOkâŠâ
The king lit up like a Christmas tree at Yumeâs answer. âThen itâs settled! What do you say friend? Iâm sure your staving!â
âI would be no less than honored, my dear friend.â Dark Mind replied, bowing gracefully. He couldnât wait to shove how decent this guy was in the face of his own Shadow Dededeâs. Admittedly, his would just growl and storm off to one of his various food pits, but it was the thought that counted.
Plus, being in such a good mood made him look better. The cute, overenthusiastic double shtick was a killer, every time. And even if he didnât need to eat, he could squeeze a few more bits of exposition out of the pudgy monarch over dinner.
âAfter you, your grace.â
smooth-salesman-rp
Yume frowned at being called ânoodleboyâ. The angel held their tongue for the moment, and made their way to the castle and made sure Dark mind followed. The route Yume took every morning avoided cappies so they at least didnât have to worry about Dark mind causing a scene. They took time to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of dreadland. The Kingdom was heavily covered in rich forests and was full of wildlife.
Yume was quick and darted between the trees gracefully. The naga and demon reached the castle and Yume paused for seemly no reason and halted the demon as well. On the wall guarding the castle waddle doo looked down on the two. âOI LORD YUME WHOâS YOUR PAL THERE?â
âA visitor, he will be staying with us for a while.â
Waddle doo nodded and signed to the other side of the wall. The wall dropped and bridge dropped leading into the castle. A platoon of waddle dees flanked both sides of the path leading into the castle. In fact the whole castle was filled with armed waddle dee ready to attack at any moment.
âIâve returned my dear and Iâve brought a⊠guestâŠâ Yume  greeted as the two entered the throne room. Shadow Dedede got up from his throne and greeted the angel with kiss on the lips. The monarch then turned greeted Dark mind with a gentle smile. âWelcome friend, I must say it not often my sweet yume here brings guests home. Iâm king Dedede the ruler of this kingdom, and the lucky husband to this beautiful angelâ The king warped his arm around Yume, kissing their cheek and the angel blushed hide their face.  Â
âOh, my god.â Dark Mindâs jaw just about hits the ground. âYou⊠you actually found someone. And you arenât trying to tear out their liver and eat it!â
Sure, it wasnât his Shadow Dedede, but the thought of the big lug finally getting out of his hair and settling down with someone else (preferably far, far away from him) made what disgusting mishmash of organs he referred to as a heart soar. And with such a fine specimen of a snake-beast, too! Maybe he could trick that purple little shrimp into looking into his mirror when he got back, and he could get his Dedede a serpentine lover, too.
âI think I need to take a picture! I promised myself I couldnât cry when this day finally came!â
Oh my god, he actually was starting to cry, magma-infused tears streaming down his face. You goddamn weirdo, you.
@smooth-salesman-rp
Sheesh, this lot was onto him faster than a cheetah chasing after an antelope with a bad leg. He hadnât expected the angel to be this⊠smart? No, thatâs not the word. But his vocabulary lesson would have to wait, given that he was currently fifteen seconds from being turned into a shish-kebab.
âI wonât ask again. Why are you here?â Yumeâs voice is as sharp as the weapon they were threatening with. Yep, that was a sword pointed directly at his throat. âAnd this time, do not lie to me.â
âUgh! Fine! You really want to know? Because I sure as hell donât!â Dark Mind bares his teeth and snarls. âI just got here, NOVA forbid I try and figure out whatâs happening with your weird alternate worlds and shit.â
âHmmm. I see, I apologize then.â The angel moved back and return to having a nice distance from the demon. They sat again and and lightly ran their fingers down their blonde bangs. With their hand now visible Dark mind could see instead of normal flesh hands they had pure metal claws. Skeletal and sharp, it was hard to tell if this was natural or not. Natural in sense of their already freakish traits. The angel thought about the curtain situation and the possible options to move forward with. The demon spoke of alternate worlds, which may suggest multiverse theory. The angel had studied the concept from time to time. It certainly peaked their interest. Yume came up with an idea, and suggested it calmly to Dark mind. âIf you are lost and from another universe I may be able to assist in understanding the matter better.â Yume gestured to the castle over in the distance. âHowever in order to aid you, we will have to go to the castle where my lab is.â They werenât talking about it like Dark mind had a choice. Seems your going to castle now Dark mind, have fun.     Â
Good news: Dark Mind had successfully conned Yume.
Bad news: Dark Mind had successfully conned Yume, and they were hauling him to a dark-ass castle in the middle of nowhere, with nobody he knew of in sight, and none of his mirrors were working properly.
Goddammit, why did everything have to be so hard? Why couldnât the universe just let him conquer unknown worlds without a hitch?
âLead the way, noodleboy.â
Keep playing them like a fiddle. Itâll probably be fine.
@blastermination
That insult probably would have held much more weight if he wasnât shocked that sheâd recognized he was, in one way or another, related to Nightmare.Â
Well, you know what he means by that.
âAnd howâs the Jambastion Mage reject holding up?â
Oh, look. Being compared to the Jambastion Mages. How very uninspired.
âPlease, we all know theyâre just capitalizing on my adorable looks,â she told him.
Dark Mind wanted to counter that with a rebuttual. Oohohoho, did he ever want to counter that. But instead, he rested a hand on his chin and thought about it.
âEh, youâve got a point. You always were the better sales... floating woman.â
((continued rp with @echoedmirror))
Dark Crafterâs face dropped in an apparent imitation of genuine bemusement. Making assumptions now, were we? This one was entertaining. He had to admit, he was rather fond of him - if only for his oh-so-charming narcissism. The ability of others to be so intoxicated by themselves was truly intruiging.
âThen I suppose itâs just as well Iâve no interest in making a mark, isnt it? People are wonderful; peopleâs reactions moreso. Perhaps you had grand intentions yourself, but whatâs the use of that if the process itself isnât the exciting part?â The repulsive, warped cheer quickly re-emerged.
âDonât tell me you have no love for theatrics!â Dark Mind waved his levitating fists in a mocking âjazz handsâ motion. âI mean, i could understand you losing your mojo after losing that little blue-haired clown to squirrel around with, but youâve got to see the big picture!â
âAnd that picture just so happens to be that you know youâd never be able to live up to the hype of the other Darks cavorting around this galaxy, so you lie and act like it doesnât bother you.â
Lo and behold, a giant holographic image of everyoneâs favorite businessperson has shown up in the middle of various populated areas; keeping tabs of characters hailing from Nintendo and affiliated with the company wasnât such a waste after all. A stern expression was worn by Haltmann, fists were buried on the exquisitely made armrests of his hover-chair. His eyes moved side to side, looking; glaring at the populace before him. He looked a bit angry-
âWHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING?!?!?!? I ASKED ALL OF YOU TO MEMORIZE AND SING A SONG OF WORSHIP FOR ONE OF YOURÂ NEWEST EMPLOYERS!â
-Perhaps âfuriousâ would be a much better term.
âSING THIS! OR THIS! ANY VERSION WILL DO! JUST SING IT WITH ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL AND MIND! BE A DISOBEDIENT WORTHLESS LITTLE THING AGAIN AND YOUR HEAD WILL BE MOUNTED ON THE WALL OF MY OFFICE.â
âPlease, do try to NOT disappoint me.â
Dark Mind squints at the screaming egg, finishes his coffee, and tosses the mug behind himself.
âMake me.â
"Ohoh, well, isn't this a lovely surprise?" A twisted voice sang in greeting. "Dark Mind, yes? How have things been going for you since your Mirror World shenanigans-... let's say "didn't go to plan", shall we?"
âYeah, yeah. So, I forgot to check the dungeon locks. Not my fault I didn't think that knight wasnât skinny enough to get through the bars!â
The subjectâs a bit touchier than heâd care to admit, so he tries to turn the tables.
âCanât be any worse than when you successfully conquered Dreamland only to lose to a toddler that got transmogrified into a rocket ship.â
âCome on now, darling, letâs not make this about me. Iâm much too humble, why donât we talk about you?â The sinister demon cooed with faux sympathy, as if to humour a clingy child. Any inklings of an underlying motivation were few and far between, but this was evidently entertainment either way.
âIâm much more interested to know how you can be completely thwarted by four unaltered small children, despite your greatest efforts. How was that for you?â
âYou-!â Dark Mind just about sputters in shock. âDark Meta Knight went against orders! I meant to have him killed, not subdivided!â Damn, this guy really wasnât giving him an inch to breathe, huh? Well, nothing else to do than to power through. He huffs and resumes.
âEh, I was outnumbered. Happens to the best of us.â A mischievous glint flickers in all three eyes. Boys, boys. Youâre both pretty. âYou choked.â
Dark Crafter clasped his hands with girlish glee, seemingly elated. Like every emotion, though, he expressed it with his own sick twist - a twist sounding ever comparable to the consumption of poison, in everything he did.
âExcuses, how cute! Tell me, will those excuses rewrite history? Will you fix everything by justifying your mistakes in that sweet little head of yours?â
âWill dodging the fact that the two of us are in the same boat help you any?â Dark Mindâs busy examining his clawed fingernails (despite his blindness; the jerk can barely even tell he has any) to care much about the otherâs insults.
âBecause, oh yeah. Nobody even remembers who you are. Tell me, who do you think, just on sheer memorability alone, would be taken as a serious threat to Dreamland if they were to return?â He doesnât give the glob the chance to respond before snapping and pointing at himself with a smirk. âYou mightâve stolen the color from the country, but you didnât leave anything behind for anyone to care about you!â
@sassysculptress
âGet to you? Iâm not trying to get to you!â Dark Mind said, clearly trying to see how far he could push her before she snapped. âIâm simply trying to remind you of a dear old friend! Oh, remember all those lovely times you spent together?â
Come to think of it, Dark Mind couldnât remember how exactly Dark Crafter had got ahold of Claycia in the first place, only that the rainbow glob got slapped to kingdom come when Drawcia found out about it.
There was a moment of silence. Claycia took the opportunity to slow her breathing, calm down just a little. She couldnât let him get to her, she reassured herself. A spiral of forced positivity swirled in her head until she could process a somewhat cool and collected response.
âIt really doesnât mean anything to me.â Another lie. âPretty sure it was just a real bad dream, nothing else. Now just⊠leave me alone, yeah?â
âYou approached me, you took the bait, you came here and decided to shove your perky little nose into business it shouldn't have been in, and youâre telling me to step off?âÂ
He clicked his tongue. âNever change, never change. But, if I must.â
Dark Mind took one of the mirrors from his side and enlarged it, creating a portal back to the mirror world. âOf course, if youâd like to debate a bit more with me, Iâm all ears.â
@sassysculptress

âïž- What is their biggest regret?
âNo filter at all, hm?âDark Mind is about ten seconds from (anattempt on) smiting him, but he hesitates. He did, after all, offer up a couple questions and did say heâd answer them. âFine. I shouldnât have told Queen Sectoniato go Soul Mode. Wonât go any further on that.â
