Kurt let out a sound laugh when he saw the piece hanging from the holster inside his blazer, his lips wrapped around the rim of his glass as he took a drink, then shrugged. “And you seriously think that carrying a piece is going to make any difference for a trained sniper, Anderson? Maybe you need to get off your delusions about being untouchable, because believe me: nobody is. As for me sticking to my family, let’s just say they’re where the better bargain is. Why? Are you willing to offer me more? Maybe some incentive to make me change my mind?” He chuckled, then downed what was left of his drink.

“One, I don’t claim to be untouchable. And second, I am smarter than you give me credit for.” Blaine wanted to shut up Hummel for throwing his words like venom his way. Yet, he sat there taking it like a man. Usually, no one dared to talks to a godfather the way the other was doing so. He wanted to laugh at the fact that Kurt assumed he charged his family a lower price. “They pay you thirty grand. I give five times that amount.” He took a sip of his drink and placed it down on the count.
