"My king, if I may, can ask you for some- well needed advice?"
Harrow paused, looking up from the letter he was reading. Something about taxes he really could care less about. “Yes, Viren?” He asked, giving a sigh though he was quite relieved by the distraction.
“Oh no, watch”
He walked out onto the balcony smiling, moving to stand by the edge and giving a few sharp whistles, a small from of a little black dragon flying up to land on the balcony’s edge, nipping at Virens fingers playfully.
“Zavinier, stop it” the small dragon cooing rather excitely at him, sniffing at him as he stood on his hind legs.
Harrow’s eyes widened, but despite his amazement he couldn’t help a little tinge of anger. “Viren, I thought you said they were in the forest.”
“Thats were he came from”
he tapped his shoulder, the small dragon jumping up happily to stand on his shoulders, tail resting along his arm.
“He’s very young and currently, very fast, he can bolt up the cliff face bellow in a few moments, he’s how I send messages, he’s awefully friendly, but hes also the most bitey of the four”
Harrow looked over the thing, before smiling. “Okay. If he’s the worst then I guess the others won’t be that bad. But how big are the others?”
“The largest is bigger than most horses we have in Katolis, yet hes very graceful and friendly for such a powerful beast, then the second is just smaller than him, the third one is around the size of a large dog and then we have him”
He scrached under the black dragons chin, the gentle purr like noise of ammusement ressonating in his throat as he closed his eyes, kicking his leg happily.
Harrow only watched for a moment, then sighed. “How hidden are the dragons? If someone were to stumble upon them it would cause all sorts of panic.”
“they’re rather good at hiding, I don’t think anyone has ever accidentally come across them”
The little dragon shook out his hair before jumping down and circling around his feet, then sitting down and looking up at Harrow, his tongue hangingout of his mouth.
“Are you sure?” He questioned, slowly reaching his hand forward for the little dragon to sniff, like a dog. He wasn’t sure how to handle dragons in the slightest.
“From my own knowledge”
The small dragon sniffed at his hand before pushing his head up under his hand, whining happily and purring.
“Alright.” He conceded, smiling once the dragon pressed against his hand. He gave a gentle scratch on the head much like he would do with Bait. “But you know, if someone finds these dragons and says something, we may have to get rid of the dragons. At least get them away from Katolis. Once they’re discovered they won’t be safe, even if I were to claim I knew and to pass a law forbidding them from being attacked.”
“We’ve had discussions about what would happen if they where found, they’d all have to return to Xadia-”
The small dragon laid on his side, whining loudly and swatting at his hand playfully, nipping at his fingers.
“That may be the best plan of action.” Harrow responded with a nod, drawing his hand back in surprise at the little one, before chuckling and tapping the dragon’s nose with a finger. “No, no nips or you won’t get pets.” He was using his baby voice, like he did with Pip and Bait, but he didn’t mind.
He chuckled softly watching as he all but whined at him, rolling back ontop his stomach and stretching like a cat.
“Alright, you should be getting back, no doubt they’ve noticed your absence.” Those simple words had the little dragon pushing between Viren’s legs and purring before jumping up onto the railing and looking back at him excitedly.
