I was in the fandom a couple of years ago, and quite active at that. Everyone recognized everyone in a way since the fandom was pretty small. Then the drama happened so I distanced myself for a while and felt guilty for still liking the comics since more people were having "ranfren fans dni" and I didn't want to be blocked and whatever. Anyway I don't really care anymore and have been rereading. I want to admit though that the influx of Russian fans and proshippers bugged me at first due to what they posted, but things seem to have balanced out now. One change is that I'm now "profic" or whatever they call those nowadays so I'm chill with the more "messed up" things that people talk about in the fandom now. Bottom line is that fandom discourse is fucking stupid and purity culture tore the fandom apart. The captainhowdie accusations were blown out of proportion, looking back.

Yeah... I have ordered the new Ranfren zine book from Suikazura. Let's see if it's good or dog dookie. I'm a bit worried about it being the latter :(

Another character from the same dream, "sci-fi guy" – decided to polish his design as an anthro myriapod. (If you don't know, the species he's supposed to be is the red centipede, however like other Ranfren characters he tends to change his color palette from time to time).
Ranfren fans are honestly a bit concerning, cuz wdym the character canonically looks like this:

Tonight I had a dream where Captain made a new cutesy site layout and not only a new Lucid, but a whole new bloody volume of Ranfren where Randal was texting with some guys in a chatroom and got into some virtual reality (?) where there was Satoru (IDK how since this was not a dream, he could have manifested as some sophisticated AI) and a sentient sock that looked like this
Now I want to make these dream Lucids a reality.
